2nd Street Deli & Dogs

Eat inside. Warm comfortable atmosphere, friendly staff...but, you came for the fantastic food! The fries are awesome..not oily and taste like potatoes. In fact everything is fresh and wonderful, not I say not packed with salt and oil. I unwrapped my sandwich and said outloud..."oh my that's pretty" the only thing better was the flavors! Portions were spot on!

Came across this place while we were in town for a few days, loved it so much we ate there 3 times. Each day we had a side salad and a soup, clam chowder once & poblano twice, because it was "that" good! We also had a tuna melt, which was a perfect classic , French dip with a delicious au jus, and a slam-packed smoky hot pastrami with Swiss on marble rye.

This place is the real deal! You can really taste the craft & love the chef puts into this food. Eddie took our orders and remembered us each time, which is really an endearing personal touch.

If/when when we come back to WA, we'll definitely be returning to 2nd Street Deli & Dogs!

This is my go to restaurant for sandwiches. I would eat here every day if I could. Orders are always fresh. The owners and staff are always friendly.

So so good! I had the veggie sandwich and this thing is HUGE and packed full of fresh veggies! There wasn't any wilted lettuce or old veggies hiding in this thing and it had really good crunch (important part of a good veggie sandwich). It had a pinkish cream cheese (can't remember the name) and a parmesan vinaigrette which was amazing! Everyone was really nice and the place smells amazing! My husband had some sort of hotdog that he loved but I honestly can't remember which one because I was so focused on this bomb sandwich. Do yourself a favor and go here!!

These folks are not messing around here! This sandwich is called “Produce Lovers” and it surely satisfied my itch for a bomb.com vegetarian sandwich! Their menu is extensive and includes vegetarian options from the veggie sandwich to soup to grilled cheese to veggie dogs to mac and cheese to salads! The prices are reasonable and the service was kind. I also had the poblano and cheddar soup which was excellent ✨ Thank you 2nd Street for a fabulous meal and an inclusive menu! I’ll definitely be back!

That was the first, second, and third best club sandwich I've ever had. It's reasonably priced as well. I will definitely be coming back.

First time but not our last! So glad we found this place!! They were busy but very nice staff, well worth the little wait. Sandwiches were huge, all good even the bread was amazing. Going back tomorrow to try more items on menu. We bought the Rueben and the Old Downtown.

One of the best sandwiches I've ever had, no lie. Their menu is diverse and everything is fresh. Great portion, half a sandwich was a meal for me. I had the Skagit and it was to die for

Nice indoor or outdoor dining. You get a lot of food and there is a good selection of sandwiches to choose from. They are a bit on the pricey side and it was hard for my wife and kids to eat their sandwiches due to how tall they pack their sandwiches. Overall a good experience.

I found a hidden gem in downtown mount vernon!! Awsome food...fresh ingredients..great service. Took awhile to get it because they were so busy but I could care less when my club sandwich was amazing...like is this for real? What elea can I try on the menu!!!

Their Trumpeter sandwich is delicious. It was a good place to bring the family for lunch. The grilled cheese is perfect for sharing.

Great Food, friendly service, huge sandwiches, and yummy soup!

My Husband and I stopped in today for lunch and we shared the pulled pork sandwich, polish dog & salmon chowder bread bowl!! Everything was so good! & Staff was so nice! I had to order another pulled pork through door dash after we got home because the first one was just so good. We will definitely be returning! & we 10/10 recommend!

My wife and I had a great experience here. Just picking up two sandwiches for our hike the person checking us out was very nice and seemed to go out of their way to make sure we had the best experience. When asking us what type of bread we preferred they they also said if you want a bigger sandwich get the rye over the croissant. Which I really appreciated! Would come back here again for sure.

Wonderful, flavorful sandwiches. I had the pulled pork sliders that were spicy and sweet. John had the pastrami sandwich . An big sandwich. Full of flavor.
Salmon chowder big winner also. Next visit going to try the homemade shakes!!

I found this place while looking for sandwich shops in the area. People had raved about the sandwiches and the veggie sandwich looked delicious. When I arrived, at the location, there was ample street parking and the staff provided a friendly greeting just as I walked in the door. The establishment is very clean and organized. The staff is extremely friendly. I ordered a veggie sandwich, the hot chicken breast sandwich, and the BBQ Chicken sandwich. I didn't realize how huge these sandwiches were. We could only finish a half sandwich and saved the rest for later. All of the sandwiches are very delicious. I tasted my mom's veggie one and I was very impressed. If you are ever in the area, this is a must stop for a delicious lunch. I can't wait to go back and visit Mt. Vernon again the future. I am so disappointed that they do not have a location in the Seattle/Everett area. I would have been a regular.

Tried today for the first time. Had a Seattle dog and a Chicago dog. Both were super fresh and flavorful. Biggest "downside" was that it took about a half hour to get our food (though it was worth the wait). I'd definitely call ahead to order though next time!

The sandwich was humongous.....i did a build your own. Prices were very good. The bread was fresh. We ate outside under a tree.beautiful setting, wonderful food. Overall best sandwich I have had in a long time. I would drive to MT Vernon to eat here.

At first glance, your average deli.

Once you’re inside, you find it has a beautiful, well-kept interior.

The staff is kind and hard working, just peek back past the register and you already know.

Once you’ve eaten here, you WILL be back. The food is absolutely delightful. The menu is full of familiar favorite perfectly executed, and items that are exciting yet familiar enough to not be intimidating.

My recommendation:

Order the giant pretzel, and a deli-licious sandwich, go to Lions Park, just a few minutes away, and sup on the beach.
