Great place to catch the sunrise! It’s always quiet and serene here, with lots of pretty rocks and driftwood to admire.

Always love "the Spit" for great views, a nice walk and rockhounding.

Delightful place to walk especially when the tide is lower. When it is high, it can be difficult to negotiate log jams to get to the trail. I spent a beautiful afternoon here recently. The parking area is small, but so are the crowds. There are no facilities except a couple benches.

I love to take a walk around the Spit. Beautiful view and nice to come at all times of the tide. Dog friendly and a nice place to find a driftwood fort to relax in.

Fishing, birdwatching, walking on the beach. Easy parking. Off the beaten track, no pass required

We wanted some quiet time away from the crowds of Deception Pass State Park and this site looked to fit the bill. Short drive off Hwy 20 to the east. We arrived to the 4 car lot full so we parked along the driveway. There was a portable potty there and it was clean and stocked, which isn't always a certainty.
The park is on Skagit Bay and there's a spit which goes out into the bay to the north. It's sandy and grassy on one side and rocky/pebbly on the other. There's some wave action and rolling surf sounds from the passing boats, but it is relatively calm compared to the state park and the Salish Sea tidal action. You can look across directly to Hope Island and northeast to the Kukutali Preserve. You can also look south to Camano.
Saw a couple people fishing.

For those that are looking for a place to harvest Butter clams, yes there are tons of butter clams and other species here.

I've seen some people struggling to find clams so Here are some tips for newbies,

1. Find a place that has less rocks and debris. Makes it easier to see the breathing hole. I've found few locations, one in Northeast side and one in Southeast. I've marked the locations where I found clams on the map if you're interested.

2. Don't give up so easily! They have a long siphon so you'll have to dig about 12" to 18".

3. Butter clams hold onto biotoxins longer than other species. So the harvest is only allowed from May 1st to May 31st.

This is a beautiful place for a short hike on the beach. Up here there's not a whole lot of sand but still worth it just for the views.

A pretty little park with room to walk and great views of the water and surrounding areas. A nice place to bring a dog, or do some shore fishing.

I was a little concerned about going down there just me and my four year old as it is a little secluded even though that is the charm of the place but I had absolutely no worries there was one Elder gentleman completely nice and nobody there to bother us at all we climbed on logs we found some beautiful rocks and driftwood. we had an overall great experience exploring out there completely safe for the little ones to just run amok

One of the more interesting places to walk on Whidbey Island. The water washes almost entirely over the spit of land at times so there is not always a good path to take, lots of drift wood. Waking around the water line of the Spit is a decent length walk. Nice views on all sides.

Nice little hidden day park. Fun beach for walking up and down, with a little inlet behind. No boat launch, and small parking area. But nice little spot with a great view.

Very cool sandy pier with logs to jump on. Just a few benches and a portable toilet but beautiful lookout area.
