California Hot Wood

This firewood is perfect, I love they still use paper logos! I used mine as a wick to start my campfire, burns well and starts easily, thank you California Hotwood.

What happened, guys? I’ve always grabbed boxes of your wood to get my smokers going when I’m between cords, and never had any issues until recently. The last six boxes I’ve bought (super jumbo packs) have all been borderline unusable. Huge pieces of wood that still need to be split at least three times, horrible knots and bends in the wood that make it impossible to split with a hand axe, and maybe not as important to me, but four of the boxes didn’t contain any kindling or fire starter of any kind as advertised right on the box. I do typically source my wood from local farms, but have always used Hotwood for last minute catering jobs out of convenience, but these last few cases really let me down. Guess I’ll just have to make sure my wood pile is well stocked from now on…

would give them zero star if that was a thing, useless firewood. Does not burn just smoke. What a scam!!!

Ugh! What is happening?!? I have always bought this firewood for the occasional fire in the fireplace or for a fire in the firepit outside! Never had a problem before, but have tried three different boxes and this wood is horrible! It won’t light! I have made six different fires, and the paper around the wood lights just fine but the wood will not ligh, and just smolders until it goes out. The small breaks in the wood will catch a light - and turns a blue color making me think the wood has been treated - and then just burns out. Ugh!! So frustrating!! Safe yourself the time, money and energy and stay away from this wood this year!

We have used this wood in the past. However this season all it does is smoke and wont lite. I have bought diffrent batches from diffrent stores but all have had the same result. Heavy wood chunks that do nothing. Completely worthless. I still have more i will just throw away. Makes my house smell nasty for days. Will never buy again. Horrible horrible wood.

Package does not even state what type of wood it is, but regardless it will not burn. Appears to be a scam.

The hot wood is supposed to have kindling or fire starter in the Box. I purchased 2 boxes at 1 store and 2 boxes at another store and got no kindling or fire starter in any of them. So I asked the company about this and they do not reply.

This used to be a quality source of wood.

Now they throw 4 huge pieces of wood into a box, with a couple small pieces.

If I wanted wood I needed to cut down to size for burning, I would chop it down myself.

You guys used to be AMAZING. nice dry wood, kindling included or fire sticks..... this company has gone l millon percent downhill!!!!

This wood aint seasoned. Or hard
