Delgado's Mexican Restaurant

First timers at this restaurant, it was recommended by our hotel and the majority of reviews appeared favorable.

Decided to try it and had the Relleno Michoacano- stuffed pasilla chili with carnitas in a crème sauce. This dish did not disappoint, excellent flavor.

The chips and salsa served are very fresh and good. The salsa is not spectacular but it’s good and goes well with the food.

This appears to be a local favorite, a Monday night had a full house, no sad faces here, just families having great food & drinks for a fair price! Can’t beat that!

Servers are busy and appear short staffed due to the amount of patrons in the place but they are friendly and very helpful.

Not sure why this place had some moderate ratings since the food is very fresh and well prepared.

Highly recommended.

We got flautas and sopes. Both delicious. Def some of the best Mexican food I've had. And I grew up in San Diego. Horchata, perfect. House margarita, perfect. The service is refreshingly laid back. "Bad" if you're used to American dining where you get rushed in and out. Don't expect to get attention right away. They're busy making good food. Just chill out and enjoy your company. 👏

Visited on a Tuesday evening around 6:30. Was seated outdoors immediately. Super friendly and attentive service and amazing food. Chips and Salsa were spot on (ask for the spicier salsa). Had a pastor special going on and the tacos and the Mr. Papa Delgado was delicious. Would go back for sure.

They have the best queso avocado tacos. It’s a corn tortilla slightly toasted filled with Monterey Jack cheese and guacamole topped off with lettuce, queso fresco,pico de gallo, sour cream drizzled with avocado salsa. Home made Mexican food taste. I stayed in Carpenteriador four nights and went twice to enjoy this dish!

My Mom & I were invited Sunday for Breakfast am had menudo. Then we were invited for Dinner the same day. Had a chimichanga and my cousins have pozole and Mom had two tacos and a salad. Both times of the day we're great. Also the gave great customer service.😊

Great food and service that has remained consistent for decades. The atmosphere is casual, who cares, you're eating a fabulous meal, enjoy!

Love this place ❤ great food great service great prices. Friendly staff they go above and beyond , great conversation and even when I'm not sure what I feel like eating they will suggest a new dish I've never tried before and I've never been dissapointed , Hands down my favorite place to eat out

This is a great, down-home neighborhood place. The food is good, pretty typical for this kind of place. Not outstanding, but reliably good.

The only downside was the service - it took close to 15 minutes just to get our menus, another 10-15 to have our orders taken, and so on. One of us had to go ask for menues, ask to have our drink orders taken, and ask for drinks that had not arrived midway through the meal. We were there after the lunch rush, around 2pm on a Saturday. It seemed like there was one server and one busser. There seemed to be no sense of urgency among the staff and no apologies for us having to seek them out to get our meal done.

This place was very good. There were three adults and we all got different things and we're all very pleased with our choices. I had to fish tacos, my son had the taco and tostada, and my daughter-in-law had sopas. I also tried the jalapeno margarita which was excellent! We ended our meal with dessert. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend!

Do yourself a favor and go on Sunday to order the Carnitas. They start cooking at 3am and only have them on Sunday. Hands down, the best Mexican Restaurant I’ve ever been to!!!

This was our first time here, but we'll be back! The food was great and there was lots of it! The chimichanga is huge! The guacamole and chili Verde bean sauce was great, too. The grandkids both loved their kids meals and adults loved the margaritas.

Parking is tight, especially if you have to park the back.

Best Mexican food in Carp and one of the only places that has cocktails. Definitely recommend.

We just popped in for drinks as we'd driven up to Solvang then around the coast sightseeing. Happy hour Margaritas were top notch & great value. We didn't eat as we were going out elsewhere but they did bring us chips & salsa. But we'll be back for food as the fajitas looked & smelt amazing. Staff were very nice.

Sometimes hard to find a restaurant in that area where they aren't charging you $50 for a lobster claw with some sauce on it. Staff was super friendly. Food came really quickly, was delicious, good portions and reasonably priced. The beer list was respectable, which is so hard to find in California. In Vermont even a dump often has a dozen or so quality beers on tap. Usually places will have some over-hopped IPA and then Firestone, which is basically a fancy Budweiser product they charge you $12 for. The thing that makes this place an absolute gem though is their extensive list of tequilas. I wish I'd had more money and a younger liver because the Patron Reposado I had was the best tequila I've ever had, and that's only halfway down the list! The very pretty waitress brought me an extra lime and did me the honor of laughing when I said, "oh yeah, I'm a white boy and just might need it". Turns out I didn't need any limes at all. I travel out there every few months and plan to make a habit of visiting every time with the fellas. It's the kind of place Bourdain would have appreciated.

THIS RESTAURANT HAS BEEN AT THIS LOCATION IN CARPINTERIA CALIFORNIA SINCE 1966. THE PLACE IS VERY CLEAN AND THE FOOD IS FRESHLY MADE DAILY AND IS EXCEPTIONALLY FAVORFUL AND DELICIOUS AND THE MARGARITAS AND DRINKS ARE ALSO SERVED. IT IS LOCATED IN THE OLDER PART OF TOWN IN THIS SMALL COMMUNITY. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED ONCE YOU TRY IT. I HAVE BEEN COMING TO THIS RESTAURANT FOR OVER 40 YEARS, AND PLAN ON COMING FOR ANOTHER 40 MORE YEARS.

Delgado's never disappoints. Food is always the best Mexican and the staff is always friendly.

A really small spot but, it's been around since 1964. Amazing food and not too pricey. Very lay back vibe and we had The House Margarita on the rocks and let me tell you, amazing and strong .

Great food and everyone is nice and helpful their drinks got a good amount of alcohol which is consistent with other Mexican resturants I been to but Def higher than bars. My only complaint is the salsa they serve with the chips isn't the best but I'll be coming here again for sure.
