Gelson's Santa Barbara

Gelson's Organic Avocado Salsa is to die for. You don't even need any chips and can eat it right out of the plastic container, with a spoon!
And there's no "citric acid" or this "acid" or other toxic "FDA approved" preservatives in this salsa, which is much appreciated.

Tastes homemade, natural and great!

Hope Gelson's leadership continues keeping an eye out for what's in all their other products that they sell; with overall consumer HEALTH, being a top priority.

This fantastic salsa comes in a small size plastic bowl too; so they're not trying to screw single people on price🙂

Best produce in SB. Excellent selection of many types of foods not found in other stores. Cleanliness of the store is admirable. Pleasant service. Wonderful yo have a live person to whom to address questions right in the front of the stacks.

A well organized store with a large selection of premium items. The bakery section had quite a few mouthwatering desserts on display, and seemed very appetizing. Across the store at the salad bar the selection was freshly made with a large selection for those who are not meat eaters.

Overall I was very pleased with the amount of selection at a great value. Upon walking in the store you are greeted with a welcoming feel with all the employees being attentive and ready to assist or serve your needs.

The smile the young man gave me when he asked if he could help me. I requested a turkey thigh and he checked with me that the one he intended to cut was okay with me and that I had all that I wanted when he had put it in the carry out container. I was very pleased with how he handled my request.

Nice store, and one of the few places in the area open on the Fourth of July. Eisles were clean, well lit, nicely stocked and wide, with an overall good layout. A good variety of products, deli, sushi, produce, flowers, organic, vegan, salad bar, etc. They have hot and cold ready to eat, grab and go choices. Good parking too.

Oh wow Gelson's has expanded into what use to be the neighboring bank. They have a larger wine and produce section that's in that new area and they have also put down nice new flooring! They use to be such a small store. With the addition it feels like a whole new store. The staff is always very friendly. I can't wait for the salad bar to be back as it's my favorite salad bar in town!

We were driving through from San Francisco to Los Angeles and made a quick stop to get some snacks fruit and drinks for our road trip.
Was totally blown away by this store. They have a wide selection of fresh fruit and veg. An amazing layout of seafood and baked goodies. The salad bar is endless. My kinda store.

Great nice and clean looking place. I came in to look for desserts which Renaud’s has a small bakery spot there and they have some delicious desserts. The almond croissant is exquisite, the hazelnut dessert is also delicious. All the desserts I tried were satisfying and I definitely recommend them.

Wonderfully surprised!! Ordered an individual for only $11.00, was delivered fresh and hot! Broccolinni, goat cheese, red onion, and sweet cherry tomatoes on thin crust & wood fired!!! 8-9 pieces, enough for 2 people or leftovers! Highly recommend from so many choices!! A!!!

I was able to find smoked turkey leg which I use to make Hoppin' John. Also I found two other items which I have not been able to find in other stores: farmer's cheese and the Danish peppermint candies in the Jelly Belly bulk section. Thank you, Gelson's!

They hava a great variety of produce, organic veggies and fruits. Wonderful and delicious cheese section where you can find cheese from arround the world and locals. Their alad bar is my favorite.

I love Gelson's. But I do not live near Gelson's. However; I knew you would have what I needed...and indeed you did!!! So thank you!

The sushi bar is absolutely the best grocery store sushi you can buy. Even better than some sushi bars I've eaten at. Arief is a wonderful sushi creator! 🍣

Everything. How clean the store is, how fresh the produce is, how pleasant and friendly the staff are, how awesome the fresh deli foods are, how helpful the floor managers are…really everything.

Gelson’s Santa Barbara and its staff really do provide a 5-star shopping experience; it is above and beyond national chain store shopping.

Personnel within many departments within the many departments which I shop lend to a consistent dependable positive experience. I have patronized Gelson’s now for years and my opinion “The best Food Store in Santa Barbara.

Quality of overall experience is better than any other grocery store. I appreciate the freshness of the salad bar, the products on the shelves, produce, the variety...and even that the store's interior is heated on cold days. I am glad you have the ATM inside which is a safe place for me to use it. The checkers are efficient and friendly and a manager is always available. I like a box boy named Jackson who knows what he is doing. Thank you

Gelsons is probably the friendliest grocery stores in Snata Barbara. Everyone there seems genuinely willing to make sure you have what you need and are always willing to help. It’s always a pleasant experience.

Saturday before Easter midday shopping for last minute items. No carts or trolleys. Looking for butter lettuce and the fabulous man working there went and found me one cart! FUN!!!
Thank you so much. Then line ups huge and another fabulous man opens up the line and asks me to come to his cash area. Honestly - it was the highlight of my day. Thanks for having great employees!!
