The Plaza Bistro

We had a one night stop over in Sonoma! We decided on a quick glass of wine and small snack and wandered into the Plaza Bistro. The owner Martin was serving at the bar. He gave us an awesome suggestion of where to stay and other local places to visit. He invited us back for a special he was offering of prime rib later that day. We visited other areas in town and went back later that evening. We were served up a delicious prime rib and more importantly, a very fun evening. We met some local folks and had a night of fun and laughter. If you are looking for a fun place with a local feel, good food, and a beautiful atmosphere you must visit the Plaza Bistro. Martin, Robin and Steve you all are awesome! You made our evening one to remember!

This place was on the way home, and I have to say this is a place to visit. Amazing food, elegant feel. Alexandria took care of us and kept up to our demands. Each plate was delicately put together, making each bite so appetizing. The teramasu was a definite hit and had to buy two. Definitely would return and ask for Alexandria.

From the moment we arrived our server Sasha was amazing and the food outstanding . She was quick to explain the dishes. Very accommodating and make us feel she appreciated us. Made us feel special. 10 star

Cozy, quaint, and comfortable. I knew it would be a positive experience when Aneta welcomed me warmly and continued to provide friendly attentive service despite being extremely busy. She was very helpful with both food and wine recommendations which turned out to be spot on! A delicious salmon dinner and satisfying wine in good company. Highly recommended!

This is one of my favorite lunch locations on the plaza. It's charming, rustic and quiet. I recommend the steak, the chicken sandwich and the blackberry/cabernet sorbet or a coffee with liquor for dessert

If you have the opportunity, do yourself a favor and make sure to visit this amazing establishment! My husband and I were visiting Sonoma from Maryland for vacation and we just happened to wander in this restaurant late one evening to grab a drink and some light fare at the bar. The owner, Martin, was phenomenal! He immediately made us feel at home, made the best lemon drops, and the charcuterie board was delicious. We were so impressed that we ended up going back 3 more times for dinner during the rest of our stay! Every single time the food was spectacular and the owner and waitstaff were all so friendly and attentive! When we make it back to Sonoma (hopefully soon) this will be our first stop! So do yourself a favor and if you haven’t visited this marvelous place, make it a priority!!! Thanks so much Martin and staff!!!

Popped in here for dinner after the place we originally planned to go to was actually closed. Glad we did, because it was a really nice dinner. I had the special of the day, fish and chips, with super tender halibut and homemade tartar sauce. Wife had the risotto, which was delicious and not overly rich or creamy. Daughter has the rigatoni bolognese, with a nice meaty sauce. Service was excellent, with a nice outdoor seating area.

My boyfriend & I ate here on our last night in Sonoma. Our server was also the bartender, Alexandra A, and went above & beyond for us. I made a weird request to try risotto on the side of my meal & she made it happen. She was friendly, we never felt rushed or out of place, and she offered prompt service. Plus the food was incredible! Next time we are in Sonoma we will be coming back! 😀

Good lunch on the plaza in downtown Sonoma. Had the grilled salmon sandwich with a green salad. Had the garlic aioli served on the side and had them hold the tomatoes. Tasty meal, and I appreciated that they could accommodate my dietary tastes.

This was one of the best meals if had at a restaurant in awhile. Ambiance was great, food was awesome... but the waitress, Sasha , was one of the best servers I've ever had in a long time (and as business traveler, I eat in a LOT of places!)

It is very seldom you go to a bistro after you saw your wife in a nursing home cause she fell and broke her hip,but i did.i felt lonley and just wanted a drink.i saw a few of my friends and told them what happened

Very classy spot at the Plaza in Sonoma. Good food! Excellent service! The fried polenta is scrumptious. There’s an extensive wine selection. Definitely a place to dine, not just grab a bite to eat.

We came into Sonoma without plans for dinner. We called the Plaza Bistro and they were thankfully able to get us, a party of 5, in for dinner! We had such a pleasant experience! Alexandra, our server was fantastic. She was attentive, knowledgeable and gave us all a good laugh! Food was excellent, as were the espresso martinis. We will most definitely be back next time we are in Sonoma!

Came here for an impromptu lunch and it was the perfect spot. We were seated right away and our food and drinks came very quickly. It was the perfect ambiance: sipping some Sonoma wine by the window as it steadily rained on a Sunday afternoon.

Had some kind of sea food stew that was awesome! Wine was great also!

Wow. Wonderful dining experience. 10/10 recommended. Our waitress was so nice. So glad that we came here for lunch. 👍

No trip to Sonoma is complete without a meal at the Plaza Bistro. Warm and friendly service (thanks to Hector) combined with fresh entrees and fairly priced wine list make for an awesome dining experience in Sonoma. The carpaccio was excellent and the prawns provencal were perfectly presented and delicious. Plaza Bistro never disappoints. Highly recommend.

All around a wonderful time. Great service, food, atmosphere, and location. We'll definitely be back.

Usually do not like polenta but it came with the chicken Parmesan lunch. I was surprised. I loved the polenta and their chicken Parmesan was very good as well. Very nice quiet beautiful Stainglass porch was where we sat
