“I’m Not In Love” by the group 10CC plays in my mind as I have this huge grin after test riding my ebike, quickly giving Andrea Koop my credit card, “Here, take it!”

I didn’t mean to buy an e-bike. Yes, I KNOW tax season is coming around the corner! I am very responsible person but boy, riding this bike felt like freedom and being a kid again!

I’m one of “those” cyclists who used to ride road a lot, swore I would stay loyal to the bike, but it’s been a few years and that feeling of loss and joy of riding has disappeared since riding with the local SC club and being dropped on the long hills (with them easily zipping by me as I finally arrive up a crest without giving me a proper rest). I was so sad, frustrated and angry that bicycling, my sport, was now accessible to the unfit and here I was being dropped. But today I took a test ride and I now wonder why the resistance. As Borg/Star Trek says “Resistance is futile!”

Do yourself a favor, remember you deserve a new bike, but if you used to ride and miss it but don’t feel you have the extra oomph that you used to, just try one of the new e-bikes. Mountain Ebike, Road eBike, family or recreational urban cruiser, just try it and have fun! Make “N+1” your ebike motto. It’s going to be mine and now excuse me while I sell my other bikes to make room in the garage for more e-bikes 😉 Andrea the salesman was great, so is everyone else there. Happy riding everyone!

Above and beyond! Mike and his crew really go out of their way to help you feel comfortable and get onto the e-bike that is right for you. Though I am in the midst of researching for the perfect electric bike; I’m an experienced conventional-bike rider and tinkerer. Mike, Andrea, Anthony, and Zack really went out of their way to help me understand the intricacies of electric bikes from motor specs to battery range, and even delved into the finer points of electronics and functions. They clearly have a passion for e-bikes and a genuine desire to share their knowledge. One thing is for sure: if you're in the market for a quality e-bike that is right for you and want to partner with a trustworthy, knowledgeable, and patient bunch, Mike and his crew are your go-to.

Bought my R&M ebike from this shop a year ago, and just took it in for the *free* tune-up service they offer. Once again, absolutely fantastic customer service—every single person in the shop is friendly, helpful, knowledgeable. It's a long drive from where I live to Santa Cruz to visit Current EBikes, but completely worth it to have them as my go-to bike shop. I expect to have my beautiful bike a long while but if I ever want to purchase another one or have any other ebike-related needs, you'll find me at Current!

I bought a new cargo bike and there were a couple problems with the bike, but the shop was immediately responsive to do repair at no cost and upgraded because of parts availability. Excellent service and delightful people.

When I bought my son's Tern HSD, Mike and crew made it simple and easy - just as I requested.

When my wife started shopping for her Tern GSD, Mike and Anthony treated her with respect. (Too often, bike shops condescend to women. I'm grateful to Current for maintaining their integrity.)

I'm pandemic-cautious, and I particularly appreciate Anthony's masking and Mike's willingness to have paperwork/etc. done outside.

If you are Goldilocks and want the *perfect* ebike, make the trip to see Mike and his amazing team. A+ customer service. They clearly want you to love your bike (not just sell you a bike). Seriously, don’t waste your time elsewhere.

Wife just purchased a new Cruzer e bike and the customer service was absolutely amazing! She loves her new bike and they took such great pride in the information they gave us before purchasing the bike. They set her up with a sweet basket for all her basket needs and dialed in the entire bike to her likings. Def coming back here for when I’m in the market for an e-bike.

Great shop, outstanding service and friendly staff. Super helpful in providing us with tips and routes. They even had pre-printed google maps with some routes.

If you need an eBike then this is the place to go . The customer service is beyond outstanding. They understood my needs and showed me bikes accordingly . I test drove three yesterday morning and went to 4 other bike stores. Nothing negative about all the other stores but what a difference.
I went back in the evening to purchase my first eBike and a bike rack for the car which they installed for me. I never felt more taken care of than at this store. It is a big investment and you want to make sure that you get the right bike for you.

These guys are extremely knowledgeable, thorough, friendly, patient and helpful. They have been unfailingly supportive whenever an issue has come up. During the sales process, they really take the time to understand how the bikes will be used, and they never try to sell features that won't be needed or appreciated. I walked out of the store with a different, and less expensive bike than I had expected, and I could not be happier with it.

I bought a couple of electric kids bikes over here from Mike. I was very impressed by Mike, the guys at the shop, and the bikes that we got. The setup was perfect and very professional. They have some really quality stuff at good prices and they are very thorough. Mike even came in early for me on a weekend to accommodate my schedule. I highly recommend this shop.

I rarely write reviews, but I'm taking exception because I feel strongly about my experience with Current eBikes.
First of all, they are open for business during this difficult (COVID-19) time. But they take customer and staff safety very seriously. They prefer to have one customer in the shop at a time, and I've been helped out on the sidewalk. It's probably best if you call to make an appointment. Masks are required. Social distancing is required. I test-rode three bikes, and before (and after) I did, the bikes were thoroughly cleaned with disinfectant. I'm a nurse, so I appreciate this policy and process.
I visited the shop four different times before I bought a bike. I was full of questions. Never did I get the vibe of, "oh, here he comes again!" The staff are knowledgeable, and they are also patient with someone like me, who doesn't know a whole lot about ebikes. I just got answers to my questions, in a language that I could understand. And they're just nice people. I never felt like I was being pressured to buy, or "buy up."
I could have bought a bike online. But I don't recommend it. A friend of mine sent a check for a bike and has never heard a thing since. I like the idea that if I have a problem with my bike, Current eBikes is within walking distance of my house. And I get bike tune-ups/inspections for as long as I own the bike. Yes, you can buy a bike for less, but I prefer to have the sense of security, and I like to support local business. I rarely give five stars, but in this case Current eBikes has earned every one of them. Thank you Current eBikes!

I rented an electric mountain bike for the first time and I had a great time. The guys in the shop were super helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. Couldn't ask for better service. I rode the bike from the shop to some epic trails which they recommended. The bike they provided was well maintained and gave me lots of useful tips on riding the bike as well as setting it up so I had a comfortable ride. Thanks guys, appreciate it.

I had been thinking of getting an eBike for a couple of years but was hesitating for a number of reasons; the cost and the complexity of choosing the "right one" being the two big ones. Mike (owner/founder) was fantastic. He helped me pick our an e-bike by asking me questions about the intended use and my riding style. He encouraged me to try out a few different models and told me about the pros and cons of each based on my specific considerations. I am thrilled with my e-bike and I know that with the free lifetime tune-ups, my e-bike will serve me well for years to come!
