Toya Sushi

Great place for a quick bite! We ordered three teas. The boba was perfectly soft and chewy, fruit teas tasted fresh with actual pieces of fruit, and we loved how they offered non-dairy milks! The sushi was incredible and we highly recommend the Takara roll. Customer service was excellent: quick and really helpful :) Definitely will stop by again!

Although we've only ordered via Uber Eats, oh so delicious!! Always fresh sushi, great tasting, and yummy boba. Rolls are excellent 👍 sad they stopped carrying the slushy boba, but milk tea is delish.

Great outdoor dining area and safety precautions when ordering like dividers and contactless payment and pickup. With the quick service, I felt like my food was prioritized. They make the sushi and boba pairing work so well! I’ll definitely drop by again.

Omg the fried chicken came with the most Amazing dipping sauce!! The bowl was a teriyaki chicken... so good!! Everything was amazing!!!

Hands down best sushi in Santa Cruz. Takara in Capitola was always my favorite until they closed, but luckily Takara owners opened Toya Sushi!! Dreams really do come true. Great sushi and bobba teas, so glad they're here!

Ordered pork cutlet curry bowl and this caramel matcha pearl latte to-go! Wanted to support the opening of this new business during the crisis. The curry bowl was delicious and affordable, but could probably use a bit more curry. Definitely very filling!

I was hoping the latte would taste stronger with matcha, but it was still a good caramel drink. Just wouldn’t really call it a matcha drink. When we’re allowed to dine out again, I’d love to try some of their sashimi. The person taking our order was very friendly and easy to order from over the phone. Would recommend giving Toya Sushi a try!

EDIT: I've been back way too many times for tea drinks. Their boba pearls are ridiculously good because of the honey flavor and smooth texture. After trying 4 different drinks I'd recommend any fruit tea with lychee jelly. My absolute favorite is the Maple milk tea with honey boba and pudding. Also I hear that they default to more curry now for their curry bowl. So awesome.

Ate hear for the 1st time today and it was DELICIOUS!!! The sushi rolls are amazing and the boba tea was equally as great. Our new favorite sushi place in Santa Cruz.

I'm pleasantly surprised how good the food was. I didn't have high expectations as it looks like a fast food kind of sushi place but it's so good. The fish was fresh. Unagi over rice was good. Nice and big portion. Food came fast. I'd highly recommend this place for sushi and boba drinks

This restaurant is a gem. Their fried chicken & oysters are to die for. The geisha roll is also a fantastic vegetarian roll.

I also got their lemon mango ice tea, and the syrup is homemade with organic fruits. 10/10 would recommend.

We traveled ~40mins just to try this place, and was well worth the drive. Definitely worth a detour, I'll come back whenever I'm in San Jose or SF again!

Never been here before despite coming to Santa Cruz so often it's become a habit, so for my first time, I'd say I enjoyed it thoroughly !

Loved the fried chicken, and the sauce that came with it was absolutely delicious! Corey was super helpful and fun, and the strawberry slush can come with little heart shaped pieces along with popping strawberry boba. It was so cute and yummy!

THE FOOD IS ABSOLUTELY PHENOMENAL!! Every time I come the customer service is caring and helpful. All the recommendations given are definitely worth a try!!! I asked the first time I came and they told me to get the Takara Roll and it has been my go to item since. Also as a resident here in Santa Cruz, it is one of my favorite places to eat and I come here regularly! I would highly recommend if you are ever in the area!!

High quality precision operation here, each item expertly made. Tempura is super light, crunchy and veggies just right, tender, not overcooked. Rolls were well balanced, super tasty. Boba options are fun. Good menu, not overwhelmed by a bazillion options, just the best ones!

We love Toya Sushi! We go here all the time and it's always delicious! The sushi is pretty high quality especially for take out and their rolls are inventive and tasty! They have pretty great vegan/vegetarian sushi options too. Also this is my go to boba tea place in Santa Cruz! They don't oversteep the tea, you can control your sugar levels, they use real mangos for their mango syrup, and they have a lot of great toppings to choose from. My partner loves their grandpa's coffee too! They are really quick too! Everything is always ready for pick up within 15 minutes and their staff is always friendly.

Let me start by saying that sushi is one of my favorite things to eat. So I get excited when I hear about a GOOD new sushi place. I visited Toya Sushi when I was home on vacation and I have not been to my home town in 2 years and it was not there the last time I was in Santa Cruz - at least I had not heard of it then. The 2 rolls I got were really GOOD! If you are in the area and you like sushi, give them a try.

We were a party of 10 - all family. Yes, during Covid! My family is large. Please don't judge. We took up all of their temporary outdoor seating area in their parking lot. Which had shade. We had multiple orders - they got it out to us fast, considering. The presentation was good for take-out sushi. Their selection was really good even for the 2 of us that eat GF. Their fancy bubble tea drinks were popular with the 7 teens. Everyone ate every last morsel!

Unbelievable service, food, Suski and experience. This place really has their customer experience down. Highly recommended!!!

Best sashimi and boba!! My husband and I visited Santa Cruz and found this Gem.

We ordered salmon sashimi and hamachi. They have super fresh and tasty high quality fishes. I can’t believe this quality with this good price. I can’t find this value in other places.

My husband and I are boba freaks. Their boba are super chewy which we love the most! If you love chewy boba this is place!

I have never thought of matcha strawberry coming out with super lovely taste. So amazing. They also have almond milk option since I am daily sensitive. They offer so many options.

We went to the rush hours and the wait time is not bad at all. They have wait because they are great! It’s worth for the wait time.

Can't really say much about the food but I will say something about their service I was on my motorcycle and was hit in front of their place by a driver who crossed in front of me the owners of the place were so kind and nice they even gave me drinks for free while I sat there with the police in the EMT good people
