Stopped by Basque Boulangerie Cafe in Sonoma and I was impressed. The peanut butter banana toast was spot on – just the right mix of creamy peanut butter and fresh bananas with smoky crispy bacon. The avocado toast was perfectly seasoned and a real testament to how good simple food can be. The vanilla latte was smooth and had a solid hint of vanilla without being overpowering. The dirty chai latte has the kick you need, blending those bold chai flavors with a strong espresso punch. If you're in the area, you've got to check this place out.

Delicious pastries and good bread. Nice seats inside or outside. Lots of coffee choices.

Great pastries and good coffee. Pretty and cozy inside. Staff doesn't seem happy to be there and it shows in their customer service. Not rude, but resentment is palpable. Never sure where to put used dishes. But all that said, it is a great place to go for a pastry and coffee or tea, which by the way is made from loose tea leaves which they bag themselves. Great touch!

Great coffee selections (Mocha, Flat White, Cortado, Latte, etc) and their morning glory bun and almond croissant. Plenty seating inside and out overlooking the plaza. Dogs friendly. Takes credit card and Tip in cash only

Basque Boulangerie Café has an indoor cafe that sells a selection of baked goods, cafe items, and drinks. My madame sandwich was really quite good. The cheese on it was slightly sharp, but mostly subtle and very melty. I thought it was a great sandwich. The croissant wasn’t that great. It tasted like a grocery store croissant, so I don’t know if they actually make them in house.

A very nice local bakery in Sonoma. Some nice coffee/espresso options. And of course baked goods! There’s also nice lunch, dinner options!

Excellent bakery with friendly workers. Many desserts like cakes and cookies and croissants. The beehive cake is my favorite but today I got the cheesecake. The princess cake looks amazing which I'll get next time. A patron said it's great and showed me the inside was jam and marzipan. Each cake is around $5 per slice. The cookies are around $1 and the other items aren't much more. The sandwiches are tasty too at around $8-$10. Totally worth stopping by every time you're in Sonoma!

We are so glad we found this little spot. I read some reviews and was hesitant but after leaving boon fly because we had no time to wait we were so happy to find this. I am not sure why people said it was expensive but it's was about 30 for 2 coffees and 2 croissant sandwiches. The eggs were cooked to perfection, the bacon was fantastic and the croissants were so fresh. Absolutely would go again!

This is “the Bakery” in town, right at the plaza. It’s the place to ‘see and be seen,’ so to speak. Everyone stops here for their morning coffee or favorite pastries. Service is excellent, friendly and there’s a variety of coffee options, latte, cappuccino, etc. Best to arrive early to get the best pastries for the day. Yes, items can be pricey. But the bakery is also a cafe that tourists like as much as locals. Sitting outside is one of the best experiences of being in Sonoma, especially on a sunny day.

Stopped here for coffees and pastries. 5 in my party. Everyone very happy with their items. Staff was friendly and seemed to be working hard to move the customers through.

True authentic coffee preparations. Excellent pastries and bread. They were nice enough to let me try some focaccia off the menu for sandwiches and it was perfect.

There are several great breakfast places in Sonoma, but it's tough to beat breakfast and coffee at Basque Boulangerie! This is our third trip and we make multiple stops. It is truly difficult to choose, but there isn't a bad choice! Sit and overhear locals talking about the latest from around Sonoma.

Sonoma local here.
Amazing sandwiches, great lattes, GREAT deserts. Lovely people running the place.
I often buy their sourdough rye bread. LOVE IT. One of my favorites.
Prices are very fair also. They're in the middle of the touristy part of town and it's great to have a sensible tasty place in the middle of all the fancy overpriced places.

My husband and I go here all the time and we love it. Probably one of my favorite places.

Beautiful tasty pastries and breads. Sumptuous soups and sandwiches. I had the Veggie Panini and a latte. With a morning bun to go for a treat later. Delicious.

Very friendly bakery and coffee house. Super nice staff. Breakfast and coffees were good every day. Recommend to those visiting Sonoma but also local’s to get a nice coffee, steel-cut oats and eggs for breakfast. Pastries were also very good. We had a great time.

You just have to love Sonoma. Where this Cafe is located is right in the center of town and the mission is not far from it. The cafe has drinks just as good as Starbucks but I guarantee you the cafe and the taste of theirs is definitely different. I was worried I wouldn't be able to stomach the latte but I was surprised that it settled very well in my stomach. The latte at Starbucks never settles well in my stomach so this tells me that the cafe is much better than Starbucks and the prices are not all that different. I had a caramel latte it was light in the taste of the caramel but to be perfectly honest it's better that way compared to what Starbucks does. If you are looking for something better than Starbucks loading a bunch of junk in their drinks you have to come to this Cafe.
