Wowza. Tasty food. Friendly service on the Sonoma Plaza Square.

Came here after a day wine tasting.

So good.

We enjoyed the delicious braised short ribs, and the shrimp with grits. Perfect.

Cute bar and restaurant bwith rustic/modern decor. there weren't that many people here at 4:30. But. Not surprised. I'm sure it gets busy later.

We look forward to coming here again.

Listen up, you Bay Area burger hounds. I've chased down dry, overpriced patties from Marin to Menlo Park, and let me tell you, disappointment is a well I know well. But then I stumbled onto Oso Sonoma in the heart of Sonoma Plaza. Now, this ain't some white tablecloth, pretentious gastropub. This is where the locals go, the kind of dive with chipped floorboards and a healthy skepticism towards kale.

And that's precisely where they get their damn burgers right. They keep it simple: locally-sourced beef, cooked to a juicy, just-pink perfection. No frills, just flavor. The cheese, you can pick your poison – cheddar, fontina, or this truffle jack that'll knock your socks off (assuming you haven't sweated them right off in the Sonoma heat). The bun? Toasted just enough to hold this meaty masterpiece without turning into a soggy mess.

But here's the kicker: the secret sauce. This ain't some mass-produced mystery goo. This is a flavor bomb that whispers of tangy pickles, smoky paprika, and something herbal I couldn't quite place. It elevates the whole damn burger to a symphony of savory goodness.

Now, service ain't usually what gets me waxing poetic, but the crew at Oso Sonoma deserves a shoutout. They're friendly, efficient, and know exactly when to refill your beer without hovering like a tourist lost in Napa Valley.

So, the next time you're craving a burger that's more than just a glorified Happy Meal, head to Oso Sonoma. It's a testament to the fact that sometimes, the best things come in the most unassuming packages. Just don't expect a fancy Instagram backdrop – this is a burger joint for people who appreciate good food, not good filters.

Oso won me over with its cozy atmosphere and friendly staff. The Braised short ribs plate was a highlight, and the Banshee glass of wine was a perfect pairing. Whether for a romantic date or a quick bite with friends, Oso is my new go-to spot in Sonoma!

We LOVE this place….it would be a destination in itself if we weren’t up here every few months anyway! The mussels are my husband’s absolute favorite and I love the seasonal changes to the burrata appetizer….
The blood orange margarita is amazing too! The past five years we’ve been coming, the owner and chef has been here every time, along with several of the waiters/bartenders, (Steven is great!!) which says a lot! Looking forward to our next trip to Oso!

We visited OSO for dinner while in town for our anniversary. Food and service was excellent! We ordered the Ceviche and Seared Rib Eye for two, plus a couple cocktails. Plenty of food for two. Ceviche was very good. Rib Eye was cooked perfect (ordeerd medium rare), potatoes were crispy and super good. The two of us were not able to finish the dish, but that didn't stop us from trying! Only non positive feedback is the two-top tables are very small.

Salmon was friggen awesome! The Ahi is spectacular! The Oysters Rockefeller are amazing! The Happy Hour Tacos are killer!

The bread and flavored butter alone are worth going for. We all kept remarking on how incredible the devilled eggs were. I had the green goddess salad and it did not disappoint — the dressing was fantastic — and everyone in my group was similarly happy with their meal. In short: you will do yourself a disservice if you go to Sonoma and don’t make time to go here.

Our favorite restaurant in the area. Innovative food, great cocktails and excellent service. Limited but frequently changing menu worth trying out everything. Some of the salads and soups are incredibly good. The burger was one of the best.

One of the best meals I've had in a while!!! I went with a few of my friends and we shared the mussels, seafood platter, and asparagus. The mussels were cooked in a creamy coconut milk sauce with grilled bread. The seafood platter was the perfect sampler! The asparagus - omg. It had a peanut sauce that was to die for. The drinks were amazing too! I honestly would go back to Sonoma just to repeat this meal.

The food and drinks were great! Loved the buttery shortbread cookies with butterscotch cream pudding!! Those cookies were so delicious! Plus the staff were very friendly and attentive! :)

Nice food, open late!! Well-balanced dishes but definitely not for those shy around spices... fun casual atmosphere, still a bit ‘trendy’ in its rustic style. Small plates are reasonably priced but still quite filling.

Had a birthday lunch here and everything was fantastic! I had the oysters Rockefeller, and the roasted Berry dessert was divine!

This superior restaurant and bar on the square in Sonoma, CA is a must visit.

I arrived during their Happy Hour (M-Th beginning at 5) and was greeted by the hostess, a server and the bartender, Rob. Talk about feeling welcome!

I selected a Syrah and decided to start with their Dungeness Crab Deviled Eggs. The house made yellow curry paste with a touch of paprika really made these a stand out.

Next up, I went for a fresh oyster tour. Two west coasters: Fanny Bay from British Columbia, A Capital Gen from WA, and the east coast New Brunswick Beausoleil. Tamari mignonette spiced nicely and topped with a jalapeño slice floater along with what a sweet ketchup base cocktail sauce. All too notch-though not big-flavorful oysters.

My main course was one of the night's specials-a New York Strip Ramen! A wonderfully rich full flavored broth! The noodles are cooked in the broth which is dark and hearty, an abundance of relatively thin sliced New York strip steak, sliced and quartered shiitake mushrooms, daikon radish greens and thinly sliced Easter radish round out this flavor champion dish.

You need to dine (and drink) at Oso! The staff, with their unobtrusive casual friendliness, compliment both the food and atmosphere. I will, without a doubt, dine here again!

Great experience and excellent food. The butterscotch pot de Creme was epic. It's worth more than the price.

We ordered oysters. Mussels, and shrimp-and-grits. The oysters were soo good! I haven't had a tasty oyster in a while. Mussels were cooked with Thai flavor soup - citrusy, lemony, spicy! Yum Shrimp and Grits was different from what we make - it was soupy and sooo good! We’ll come back when we visit Sonoma for sure!!

This restaurant was the perfect combination of casual and excellent food! We enjoyed raw oysters, deviled eggs, and Moroccan spiced salmon. For dessert the butterscotch pot de creme was great. The place looks casual, but the food isn't your standard burger. The table next to us ordered the burger - it was 8"+ high. Looked amazing. Go here for a wonderful meal that is excellent quality, without being stuffy. The staff told us they are opening a wine bar next door soon - can't wait to come back and experience that!

Really good food and service. Great wine and drinks list. Oysters and poke were fresh and tasty. Nice outdoor seating in the back. COVID-19 protocols in place and followed.

Absolutely amazing. Beautiful entrance and feel. Even without reservations we were quickly seated. I highly suggest reservations though. Staff was amazing. Kind and super attentive.

The food! Don’t get me started. Everything they brought out was out of this word. From the bruschetta, to rockefeller oysters, and finally out entree. Everything was spot on. Thank you for making an amazing date night even better.

Every thing in Oso is delicious. Had ceviche and beef tacos and they were yummy. Later tried sea bass and oh my gosh delicious and so fresh tasting. Best patatas bravas I have had. Portions are generous and service is great. I want to come back.
