Shige Sushi

Love this place. was just in town for a long weekend but read that this was one of the best sushi places and no lie, it is! small place and we got a table right away I think only because of the holiday weekend. service was great. very small business, local feel. seem to have some regulars. sashimi was super fresh and reasonably priced for what you get. wish I lived closer!

A charging sushi restaurant with excellent sashimi and rolls.

I came here on a Thursday night, looking for a quick bite with a couple friends. Shige showed up as a good option and I wasn't disappointed. We had the large plate of sashimi which included the chefs special fish for the day along with some rolls including the chefs surprise. Everything was excellent, and the short sake list had some fabulous options.

When in Sonoma looking for a low key, but very good sushi restaurant, I will eat here every time.

Great sushi option! A lot of their rolls seem to have fried components, and we love the Godzilla roll. Excellent salmon sushi, and the sashimi salad was delicious as well. Every piece here has been delicious! I wish there was a little more seating space, but at least less people inside generally means fast service.

I’m pleased to say, I don’t have to go into the City to experience an authentic taste of Japan. I had the Bento box lunch plate, with Karaage Chicken, not teriyaki!
I wanted to try something new. Karaage is something I have never had before. The portion was generous and the chicken was juicy and tender with a spice and flavor that to me was unique.
The description on the menu said “spicy” but it’s not hot, more of a gentle tangy taste. But not sweet! Very flavorful with a delicious dipping sauce on the side.

Excellent service and a pleasant atmosphere. A nice selection of wines, beers and sake.

I forgot to order Miso soup and California roll. I liked the house made cheese cake. Yet, I was disappointed that it wasn’t made with Anko or green tea ice cream or maybe even Japanese persimmon. Next time I visit I will try the beef Teriyaki and maybe some Udon.

Pleasantly delighted by this sushi spot. Fresh fish and great ambience inside, don’t be put off by the strip mall surroundings. The sashimi was very fresh and sushi rolls generous.

This place is very refreshing in Sonoma Valley. Best sushi in the area and the owner cares about the quality of the fish and gets much of it straight from Japan. Great restaurant great atmosphere and great prices.

What a nice little surprise on our trip to sonoma to stumble upon this gem of a restaurant! The fish is fresh and high quality, the tempura and chicken udon were crispy and my kids gobbled it up. My sukiyaki hit the spot on a chilly evening. My husband’s nigiri omakase was fresh and delicious. The entire family had a great meal, we definitely plan to come again!

I come from San Jose with my wife. We have been trying to have dinner in Shige for two times. (11-25&11-26) The first night I just checked the outdoor and didn’t read the announcement outside the restaurant. The second night we came again and I saw the announcement. Even we haven’t had chance eat in Shige, I still have a good feeling of this restaurant. Happy birthday Shige.

Everything was DELICIOUS! I think one roll we tried was called "King Dynomite" & loved that... our usual "Hot Hot Roll" was yummy as ever. Excellent service. I highly recommend🤗

Always delicious at Shige Sushi. I ordered the assorted tempura (shrimp and vegetables) and rainbow roll. The tempura was really good, lots of fresh vegetables and two delicious shrimp. The rainbow roll was equally delicious topped with a variety of succulent fresh fish. I enjoy dining here!

Tasty sushi! Had seaweed salad and a couple rolls and everything tasted so fresh.

Everything is thoughtfully created and extremely delicious! So lucky to finally have a great sushi restaurant in sonoma. Love their vegan sushi options too!

Don’t miss out on their lunch specials - high quality food at an amazing price. My sister loves their sashimi. Also the owner is so sweet. 10/10 every time - have never been disappointed

Excellent little sushi place. Great selection of sashimi. I highly recommend the chef's selection of sashimi. I had a Godzilla roll as well...It was excellent.

Service was prompt and amazingly friendly.

Great little hidden gem

Absolutely amazing service and sushi. My friend and I got to Shige 10 minutes before they closed and not only did they still let us get take out they went above and beyond to fulfill our order. The staff is wonderful, excellent service, and the sushi was to die for. Five stars isn't enough, I'd give ten if I could. To have a sushi place this good and close to home is grand. Will be back more often

Awesome place! I got sashimi and a sushi roll and it was delicious and fresh. It was busy when I went but the staff was friendly and accommodating.

Excellent authentic sushi in a town where it's hard to find any to begin with. The negative reviews I've seen complain about bad service (it was great for us) and bad beef teriyaki (why are you ordering that at a sushi/izakaya restaurant?). I thoroughly enjoyed our rolls, with fresh and tasty fish and generous portions.

Some of the best fish I have ever had! These people of kind, professional, and the sushi serious. I'm glad I don't live near this place, I'd go broke eating here every meal. Its that good!
