Buena Vista Winery

What a tour! Take the winery tour, not a sit down tasting. This is the oldest winery on the West Coast. The buildings are stone and the caves are fascinating. Your guide will share information with you and can ask questions, but you get to try their wines all along the hour plus tour. They are pricey, but well made and delicious, as they source their grapes from the best areas of Napa and Sonoma.

This was our favorite wine of all of the tastings we had in Sonoma! The grounds were beautiful and very historic to Sonoma Valley. The tasting was amazing as we sampled everything, mostly reds. Although, their Chardonnay was pretty amazing, as well! The Sheriff was our absolute favorite! Such a smooth bold red blend made of Petite Sirah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Grenache, Syrah, Petite Verdot, Mission and Cabernet Franc. We became wine club members as to be able to continue to purchase the Sheriff. We have Buena Vista available in our state but not the Sheriff. We will be able to enjoy our favorite souvenir of our Sonoma trip well into winter!

The best wine tasting experience we've ever had. Absolutely beautiful location with a rich history. Thoroughly enjoyed our host who had excellent knowledge of the wines and was very flexible in the selection of wines that best suited our palettes. Did I mention excellent wines?

We really like this winery and have to compliment the staff as well. We got right in and we're immediately seated. We found our solliminer to be very knowledgeable and funny. The wine was reasonably priced However, the ambiance of the winery was really took the cake. They served all of our family and we enjoyed our time here. Definitely worth the drive from the Bay area.

She was an amazing host. We ended up leaving with 4 bottles of Champaign and planning to order few cases of wine.

Lovely little vineyard, the staff were very friendly & knowledgeable. I would say you would want to be a member to make the most of this place. There are no fees to join just an obligation to buy a certain amount of bottles every few months. But that membership can get you a number of free wine tastings that can cost around $220 a go. So membership is def worth it, if you’re only within an hour or more drive away.

A unique tour and tasting experience, hosted by a very talented actor portraying the winery’s founder. So much great history and so many interesting stories. Sure, it’s a more “commercial” experience than you’ll get at the smaller wineries, but they do it well. Enjoyed touring the exquisite grounds and beautifully decorated tasting rooms. Oh, and the wines were enjoyable as well!

Another beautiful California Vin-yard with some history to match. We just tasted one wine, but ended up buying a bottle to take home. Definitely worth a stop, wish we had more time to stay and relax. Next time.

I loved the place, excellent service, Roberto attended us, excellent attention from himRoberto was gracious to me and my family. he was able to squeeze us in on this rainy day. Made our trip Unforgettable.

We had a great time with the winery tour and tasting! Mili was amazing, she customized the tasting based on each of our preferences and was a wonderful host overall. Time and money well spent!

This is an absolute must if you are ever in Napa or Sonoma!

Our tour guide, Don was so personable and heartfelt… It was the best visit we had! We went from laughing, to at one point, having tears in our eyes from the moving stories about the winery and their history.

Not to mention, their wine was very unique, and of very high-quality. If you have ever seen their fun packaging, you would know they make the sheriff wine!

One of the most beautiful locations we visited while in wine country. The outdoor is absolutely exquisite and the inside has so many unique rooms. You’ll think you’re in a movie!

We enjoyed the seated tasting having arrived by bicycle and moved table from outside when the sun went down and it cooled off to a cozy indoor spot. Our Moldavian host was very friendly, accommodating and knowledgeable (sadly we didn’t catch his name but he really made the visit special for us). So much history in the area and at this vineyard in particular and just the right amount of excellent wines to hop back on the bikes and make it home safely.

Not only amazing wine and Champagne, the winery, the staff and the serenity of Buena Vista is superb! The staff is so inviting and full of life, you can tell they are happy being employed there and they are so thoughtful and kind. They are dog friendly and everyone who works there stops to say hello to our dogs. Everytime we have visitors, we take them to Buena Vista winery for an amazing, memorable time.

Probably the best wine tasting I've ever had in the Sonoma Valley. Leela was a fantastic "guide" within the wines of this historical property. We spent 2hrs tasting fantastic wines and discovering the wines and we also get some tasting advices. Really go for it !

What a beautiful winery! Parking is a little far, but it’s a nice walk. Our host was very nice and informed when we did a wine tasting. All the wine we tasted was delicious and I’m picky. Very unique for being the oldest.

Visiting from Boston and really enjoyed our tasting with Millie. She went above and beyond to teach us about the wines and have us compare different wines of the same variety. She taught us about the history of the vineyard and took us on a tour of the cellars. The cheese board was awesome. It was a super cool, historical vineyard. As first timers to Sonoma, we would recommend it!

Amazing experience with the tour and tasting with Don, our host. We loved his sarcasm, family stories and knowledge of the wine. The wines are delicious and come with such history. Special thanks to our friend at the tasting bar from Moldova. You were so kind and hospitable.

We had a wonderful experience doing the barrel tour, Nick, our guide was incredible and really made the entire experience spectacular. He was interesting, funny, and knowledgeable. Thanks to him we bought way too much wine but will be sure to enjoy it!
