Obsidian Wine Co. | Tasting Room

We had a great tasting today. This winery is fun and unique. Taste wines made from single source family owned vineyards. Look up their video on the volcanic AVA that tells their story.

Started with a lovely "Jacobson Ranch" Sauvignon Blanc that that exquisite. Pear, pineapple and green melon notes. Enjoy with cheese and fish.

Enjoyed the "Boon Fly's Hill" chardonnay, which exhibits fresh butter and Meyer lemon notes, followed by a fun, funky "Pezsgo" sparkling pinot noir.

I love wineries that make what they like, which makes what I'm tasting really interesting.

The "cuvee Kati" named after the founders wife and current winemakers mother is a luscious blend of five Bordeaux grapes.

Finishing with the "Half mile" cabernet Sauvignon was a perfect way to end the taste.

We came here from a referral and WOW!

We are a party of 5 and we came last minute hoping they can squeeze us in and they did. We sat within 2 minutes of arriving.

We did the wine tasting for $30 per person (super cheap deal for the quality of wine) and we loved 4/5 of wines, some of us 5/5.

Gwen was our server and wow she was amazing! She was great at giving us the history of every bottle and made it interesting. We ended up signing for a membership!

Beautiful spot! We’re Obsidian club members all the way in Pennsylvania, so they treated us like superstars here. Extra Estate wines, perfect service, and a beautiful view. The woman that helped us was awesome and knowledgeable. Don’t skip this one!

Out for the afternoon with the kids and family, stopped in to pick up my in-laws quarterly membership wines. Kids were able to run around the grounds, while we sat for a tasting.

Our server, Cort, held court and gave us a thorough and comprehensive background for each wine we tried. We had a blast. If you find yourself needing a break from the urban environment and are nearby, I can’t recommend it enough. (Cort also laughed at my terrible jokes, and talked football with my brother in-law)

TL;DR: Great drinks, excellent hosts, room for the kids to roam while you drink.

We just stopped by and had a fabulous experience. The wines were to die for. Smooth, flavorful and very drinkable at reasonable prices. The service was exceptional.

A bone fide hidden gem among Sonoma wineries! It looks very unassuming, but the history, events, and especially the wines are phenomenal! Been there several times now and haven't had a bad glass at all!

Stopped here with 4 of us for a wine tasting. The staff was amazing Kelsey made our visit an awesome experience! The wines were excellent! We even had a mascot (Olive) who was a delight! If you’re in the area definitely stop here you’ll be so happy you did!

Great tasting room, with excellent whites, roses and some bold reds. Friendly staff and a lovely indoor/outdoor tasting room with deck. Well worth the visit. Also offering food to be enjoyed from nearby folk table restaurant.

This is the wine spot for Sonoma. Hana is awesome! Their wine is phenomenal and there is also a restaurant and coffee shop there. A bar, it's a beautiful place to go wine tasting. All the staff is awesome! Also the obsidian that is around the winery is good juju!! You have to check this place out!!

Great 2018 Chardonnay aged in Hungarian Oak barrels. Fruity up front, smooth, crisp and refreshing. Oak comes in at the finish. Just lovely.

Oh, and the wines are fantastic, too.

We've been buying wines from here over 10 years. Still some excellent wines. The price is incredible given the small production and the quality. The whites are some of the best in the price range but my favorite is those reds from Lake County. Those reds age beautifully as well.

We took family from out of town to Obsidian's tasting room at Cornerstone and it was a wonderful experience. Cort our host was knowledgeable and personable, he did a great job explaining each wine he poured. The wine was fantastic!

Provided us an informative and enjoyable tasting of their wines. Among the two of us, we opted for one of their premium tastings and one of their regular tastings. Enjoyed both and staff was friendly and attentive. They own a Hungarian cooperage and found their use of Tokaj oak a nice touch. It's located in the Cornerstone Sonoma mall, which is nice and there are restaurants, shops and other tasting options, but it's not really the most intimate or unique location.

Truly incredible experience with the man and woman working today May 28th, 2019. I am brand new to wine and they stayed late speaking with me about wine and various other topics. They were very friendly and attentive to myself and my little dog George. Thank you!

Douglas was as enthusiastic about delivering exceptional customer service as he was about the wine offering at obsidian. It helped that the Hungarian Oak made for a delicious and unique wine that was a knockout in my books!

Glad we stopped by. Very friendly owner and a nice pattio to relax in. Ask about the various art pieces on the wall and you'll hear some interesting stories.
