The BBQ Place

I was on a road trip and stopped at this spot. I was craving BBQ and it was neat to see a homemade BBQ spot. The food was great. I got the most popular item, which is the tri tip sandwich combo. The tri trip was tender and not too much seasoning, you could actually taste the tender meat. The bread was buttered and toasted. The atmosphere and customer service will have me coming back here when I make this road trip.

5 out of 5! I only had the tri tip sandwich with a coleslaw side but it was SO good. The bbq sauce had a little spiciness but it went perfectly with the sweet coleslaw. Definitely coming back to try more. The owners are a family and we're really nice as well.

I’ve tried various Tri-Tip Sandwiches around Ventura County and by far this is my favorite sandwich. The meat itself is delicious, the bread roll is simple, but flavorful, and the homemade BBQ sauce is the best! The spicy is actually really spicy, so what I do is ask for “half and half” which is half mild, and half spicy BBQ sauce. The homemade chips are also really great! This is a must get for me every time I’m in Fillmore.

I’ve been coming to this restaurant for years and feel like part of the family at this point. The owners really make you feel welcome and the atmosphere is your authentic small business casual which makes me feel right at home in my lunch break stopping in for a bite. Raul, Melanie, Lupita, Lupe, and Raul Sr. Really go out of their way to bring the people of Fillmore quality BBQ and it shows in their home-made sauce and snappy potato chips. 10/10

I seen this place when I was passing by and the smell is what caught my attention. I got the 3 beef rib plate with the spicy BBQ sauce and it was amazing. The flavor of the BBQ sauce had just the right amount of spiciness, it really complimented the real tender ribs perfectly. I will definitely be coming back to try something different, until I have tried everything on the menu. I would recommend everyone try this place.

Bomb tri tip sandwich! I get mild BBQ and it's just right, it has a spice but not spicy, I would say all the sides are good as well just depends on what you want. Inside is small just a quick sit, eat and on your way. (We order on the phone before going)

Delicious! Hubby had the tri tip toasted sandwich and I went with the pork ribs. Their in house bbq sauce was perfect, employee who helped us gave a sample and was very nice too. They make their own chips too. Not at all greasy. Would be back if they weren't so far from where I live.

Cool staff, straight up barbecue, no gimmicks. Fantastic tri-tip sandwich & plate. Hot BBQ sauce is ON POINT! Hot enough to pile on for a spicy dude, mild enough to dip for a sensitive lady. Had it to-go & dined-in, both times 5/5 tri-tip. I would call it juicy & nice, thoroughly cooked but seriously just right 👌🏼 coming from SFV, i always want to hit this spot after shopping for some cactus. I don’t care who else is cooking in Fillmore, please stay keeping it real Barbecue Place 🤘🏼

Hands down the best bbq sauce I have had so far. Their spicy bbq sauce specifically. I have tried tritip sandwiches through out California and have yet to find a sauce that rivals the BBQ Place. The bread is nicely toasted. Tritip seasoning is good and can sometimes be a bit over cooked, but I will always go back for the sauce.

Oh boy oh boy the Tri Tip sandwich is delicious. I travel 1.45 hrs to eat here. Ribs, either beef or pork, chicken, grilled or fried, sausage and homemade chips...come on down...They have it figured out! Come try it yourself. Wait, I forgot to mention the BBQ sauces and the beans, and the garlic bread...fast, kind staff food is quite palatable.

If you like tri tip.... Try it! I had the sandwich and it was delicious. Its a classic and you can appreciate the meat and bread quality that goes into the process. Ty. I will be here again

This place hands-down is the bomb! My wife and I drive from Ventura to eat here and we have not been disappointed. Try tip is amazing and their barbecue sauces are to die for.

The owners and sons are awesome. Always have a smile on their face and always have great attitude. Best customer service ever. And the food is amazing. We always get the same thing. Tri-tip platter with extra bread and extra sauce cause its just that good. Definitely recommend this place to anyone.

Wonderful Meal!😀 Two types of sauce, super spicy and just plain delicious. Loved the succulent baby back ribs, and especially the macaroni salad, just like my mom makes for the holidays. We were passing through town on vacation, and will definitely stop here again.
