Nice local hiking great location to see local birds, flora and fauna. Enjoy the views as you assend the hill to the west. Be prepared for mosquitos or flies that bite if you stop. Some days I have been here where it is not an issue.

My wife, roommate, and I all hiked this trail and it was amazing. We spent 3 hours hiking and yes we got tired but well worth it for the view. I would recommended comfortable shoes and going when it's not to hot. Bring plenty of water! It was so fun definitely recommend!

My favorite place to hike. Beautiful view from the top and rocks to climb. Great loop trails and a stream that follows one during spring. Morels grow like crazy up here if you know where to look. The best time to do this hike is on a rainy day. All the smells are enhanced and poplar trees are giving off their scent.

Great gradual hike up to the top. Takes 20-30 minutes. Amazing views of both the valley and of the Palouse. Also, watch for passerbys unwanted politacal opinions while enjoying your hike. Happy hiking!

Rocks of Sharon. One of the best "mild-moderate" hikes I've been on. We started and ended at the Stephens creek trail head. Took about 5 hours, we did stop to have our lunch, and took lots of pictures. The rock climbers in our group loved it and were super bummed they didn't bring their gear! We saw moose, snakes, and Chipmunks!!

One of my favorite places for solitude, wildlife and a variety of different types of people. Some weekends you may find a "butterfly expert" standing at the head of the "Stevens Creek" Trailhead.

There is a lot of history to be discovered, simply by talking to the other hikers. One evening I encountered a man who "as a young man" rode his dirt bikes down the natural glacier slides, which helped to create the trails. There is a rock with a "log bench" in front of "big rock". In certain lighting there is a number 8 which appears on the rock behind the bench.

I learned from another hiker, there had been graffiti painted on the rock. When they removed the graffiti it left the shape of an 8 in the rock. There are "many groupings" of large rocks along the ridge of the mountain which offer rock climbers a venue to go climbing. In fact one morning I was making some videos and came across a man who was mapping the rock climbing locations.

One morning I was watching a butterfly and drawing. I heard what sounded like a person falling down the mountain. I walked toward the noise and looked for a few minutes. All of the sudden a "cow moose" came down the mountain and ran across the trail in front of me. I have encountered deer, snakes and chipmunks along with a variety of butterflies.

This trail actually goes along the ridge down to the dishman mica side of the trail. It's perfect for walking dogs or simply enjoying the hike with the family. Many of the trails connect back to the main trail. It's a very enjoyable hike.

I went on a hike up there with a bunch of friends! Great activity! The scenery was beautiful. If you go, just remember to bring water and wear good shoes. I'll just let the pictures do the rest of the talking.

God's Beautiful creation!! Signs say there have been bear sitings here so bring bear spray and make noise when you're hiking. I saw some people mountain biking up the trail. Lots of trees and some wildflowers!

You can get to Iller Creek in twenty minutes from anywhere in Spokane, and climb up to overlook the Spokane Valley or the Palouse in complete silence on almost any day of the week. People are respectful, friendly, and contribute to the peaceful vibe of this beautiful place by giving each other the space to enjoy it quietly. Great, well-marked, trails, and lots of variety for all difficulty levels.

This was my first time here. I hiked 5.6 miles taking the trail the veers to the left from the trailhead, Stevens Creek Trail I believe. It is a continuous climb until you get to the Rocks of Sharon, whoever she is. When I went (first week of April), there was a lot of mud from the snow melt. Only ran into a few people and two dogs. On my descent, I happened upon the babbling brook to my left. It was a loop, so you don’t have to turn around and go back the way you came once you get to the top. For some strange reason, there were two old demolished cars up there 🤔 It was very beautiful and a great workout. Would definitely do it again.

Nice place right out of town to walk for miles and never get bored of the views! Some spots have a creek in the trail which is harder for wheelchairs

Good climbing. Trad and sport routes with good views on top. The two of us got stalked by 2 cougars while exiting at night mid August 2017. Presumably a mother teaching an older cub. They were in the trees just north of Big Rock. Be alert at night although no recorded attacks in the area.
