El Paso County Veterans Services

My VSO Officer was Corey Gill. I went in for guidance on submitting my disability claim and he was really kind. The past couple of days were really cloudy and was triggering my headaches, he was really nice to dim the lights in his office since I still l had a lingering headache.

By the time my initial meeting ended, Corey had brought up a few things. One of them was that I didn't realize there were things that could be service connected based on my medical record (as secondary conditions). Another thing was how he explained to me how the VA calculated disability ratings and how my current ratings affect my %.

I got my next steps and look forward to continue working with Corey. Even if my rating doesn't increase, I am glad I am submitting things and this time with a VSO.

Side note - the ladies in the front were also very nice, I was able to call and schedule with ease. Checking in was no problem neither. Very happy we have this service.

I became aware of them through a VA organized on-line event. Later I made an appointment with the office and then went to it. They are convienently located with plenty of parking. At the meeting we reviewed why I want to update my service related claims. They will help me with the effort and we submitted an intent to file. Now we have one year to make it happen.

The El Paso County CO office has been assisting me over the last 10 months on a matter which has finally successfully resolved for my family. I've been impressed with the professionalism and honest care the entire office team has shared, both in person and over the phone during this time. I would also like to make special mention of Charles Graves, Assistant Veteran Service Officer. In addition to his part in the team's positive attributes, he is an informed, well-networked, patient, and honest leader/representative of the government services and resources. The team and Charles have my family's and my deep appreciation for all.

Although I didn’t have a great start with one of the other staff members I decided to call back and request a new person to handle my claim and I’m really glad I did. Sean woods was able to give me all the correct information I needed to gather all the paperwork in order to properly complete my claim. He communicated with me through in person meetings video calls and email. Everything was handled in an extremely professional manner and he did everything he could in his power to help me. Thank you sir for all the help.

Thank you for helping us veterans and for assisting us. I am truly appreciative of what you do for us and to our community. For my fellow vets, I know for a fact that this office has been a blessing for a lot of veterans. Please listen to your VSO's advice and always remember that they are there only to assists you and advice you. At the end of the day, your VA claim is still your responsibility.

I would like to thank Charles G and the staff for their amazing help with my situation. I did not know where to even start, and Charles walked me thru every step. He responded to all my calls and made all our appointments fun and simple. What he and the VA are doing for me is life changing and I am so grateful the services provided.

Today I had my appointment with Charlotte and she was AWESOME! Not sure why other folks feel the need to give her a bad review. Been my experience in life that you get back what you bring to the table. I look forward to working with her in the future. Thank you Charlotte!

I am always appreciative of the El Paso County Veterans Services. I have nearly two years of experience with their offices and staff.
They are consistently professional and personable. In particular, they have supported my VA claim and the necessary documentation at every appointment. I could not have completed all the requirements without them.

I highly recommend the entire staff, and wish to encourage all veterans to utilize their office for assistance. They are the best!

I visited the office, Expecting a bureacractic quagmire, with people inundated with too much work, not enough time. My appointment was with Charlotte, and she took a great deal of time with me. She looked at my medical history and found things I didn’t know I could claim. Jessie in the front was also awesome!!! I want to thank them both for their help.

Charles Graves was the latest rep assigned to me. Mr Graves accomplished more in one meeting than the previous six reps I worked with. He was concerned and quite involved with my case which resulted in a substantial increase in my claim percentage. He knew how to navigate the complex VA claims bureaucracy with excellent results. Mr Graves is a credit to the El Paso County Veterans Services.

I had an appointment with Sean Woods today. Sean is very passionate and knowledgeable about the whole process with submitting VA claims. He went the extra mile to assist me. Thank you Sean for all of your hard work. - Ken F

Marshall is a true professional. He goes out of his way to assist Vets. His customer service is off the charts. It so refreshing to find an employee of this caliber working with the VA. Well done!

A lot of mixed reviews here. My personal experience has been great. Charlotte as my VSO really made a huge impact on my life and I can't thank her and the El Paso County Veterans Services enough for such great work.

Overall it was a great experience. Charles Graves handled my case. He was very informative and professional. He took his time to explain my case and what I could expect. Everything worked out well. Thanks Charles!

My appointment was with Charlotte and I have ZERO Complaints. She took the time to look through a stack of papers the size of Lady Libery herself. Found a few things, did some case study research and assisted with submitting my Notice of Disagreement.

If anything i was short on time and she was able to get through it all on my time schedule, as I had another appointment back to back with her's.

I just wanted to let someone in your organization know how thankful I am for the knowledge and assistance I received from Mr. Graves. He was so helpful and patient with me while leading me through the maze of passageways that is the VA bureaucracy.

Chad was extremely helpful in helping me apply for survivors benefits today. As the paperwork is extensive and very confusing, I couldn't have done this by myself. He was very friendly and kind. Thank you so much Chad!

Sooooo Many thanks to Chad @ the El Paso County VSO who helped me on a call, on 6/21/2021. I called and left a message and he got back to me right away, with an important answer to a VA medical logistics question I had. It is such a rarity - and not the norm - when VSOs get back to you right away (I was not used to this, after VSOs helped me in another state) AND he offered to follow up with me, even though I’m moving out of the county soon. Thanks Chad!

When I came to El Paso County Veterans Services I had been working with the American Legion. My rating was reduced from 80 down to something like 30. I pleaded with the American Legion office to fight the reduction and they basically just laughed at me, so I politely told them to f-off. Chuck at the El Paso County Veterans Services took my case on with concern and empathy. He was always willing to talk and help in any possible way he could. I'm at 100% now, thanks to him and this office.

It’s been almost a year since I visited this location. Unfortunately coming from another state and in the middle of an appeal they couldn’t help me, but was referred to someone who could. This was all short notice since nothings was forwarded or lost in Lala Land (go figure :/). Luckily I was able to get almost everything on time and I’m pretty much just playing the waiting game that the military loves to play since 2017 (smdh -_-).
