South Thurston Fire & EMS Station 41

South Thurston Fire & EMS was officially formed in 2017 via the merging of Thurston County Fire Districts 12 and 16, however the history spans back way further than just 2017. The City of Tenino first started a fire department back in 1910. In 1962, Thurston County Fire District 12 was formed to provide fire and medical services to both Tenino and surrounding unincorporated areas. Thurston County Fire District 16 served Gibson Valley out of a single station. No other information is readily available online about TCFD No. 16. South Thurston Fire & EMS is currently operating out of 4 fire stations across its coverage area. This includes Station 4-1, with 5 apparatus bays, in Tenino, but in the days of Fire District 12, its number was 12-1. Station 4-2 was originally station 16-1 when Fire District 16 was operating prior to South Thurston Fire & EMS, featuring 6 apparatus bays across 2 metal buildings. Stations 43 and 44 were numbered 12-2 and 12-3 respectively, both being basic 2 apparatus bay stations. Station 4-1 is staffed by 24/7 personnel, while stations 4-2,4-3, and 4-4 are all volunteer staffed.
