The staff are knowledgeable and friendly. As always the worst part of coming here is other people in line. I wish people didn't stand right behind you and cough... They took the 6ft distancing marks off the floor so apparently that means stand 12 inches away. 😐

I recently had several large packages needing to be picked up at this location. Where in years past in December I've waited an hour just to pick up items, this year, (December 2020), was SO different, I was in and out within 7 minutes! All windows were open and attended, another employee was directing customers and providing lobby assistance. Wow! So awesome. Thank you local postal employees for taking on all of 2020's political scrutiny, uptake in packages and mail volume due this pandemic and for being awesome.

I use this post office almost daily to mail packages for my online business. The staff is always so kind & they give my daughter a piece of candy every time we come in. I never wait more than a few minutes because they work quickly. If you have complaints, you're probably a generally unhappy person lol. Because I've been in there more times than I can even count & have not had one bad experience.

As one of my packages delivered to me yesterday and I didn’t get it for some reason they took it back and said it was going to get returned to the sender after countless times trying to get a hold of the USPS in Lacey without any resolve I called the one in Olympia and Marian picked up and was super helpful with resolving my issue! Thank you Marian for doing your job and showing awesome customer service!

The supervisor was really friendly, knowledgeable and helpful with a problem I had with my neighborhood mailbox. He was also greeting people as they came in and helping them get their business done faster. Everyone at this branch was really nice about helping me out, and it was a few day before Christmas, so I'm sure they were tired and stressed.

Used USPS "Click & Ship" to prepare my package, pay for postage and print a shipping label from my home printer, so all I had to do at the post office was hand my package to the clerk. I then received a receipt with all the pertinent info -- as well as a tracking number (so you can see where your package is at any point in it's journey. Package made it safely from Olympia, WA to St. Augustine, FL in only two days...not bad!

Staff are friendly, cheerful, professional, and very helpful! Some people seem to love denigrating public servants, but in my experience, the staff at the downtown (Jefferson Street) post office are top-notch and have, without fail, been a pleasure to deal with. If you come in with a bad attitude to begin with, you may not have a great experience, or you might have one in spite of yourself! Now, it's true that there can be a long line at times (Yikes, Christmas!), but that's baked into the layout. I can't see blaming the staff for that unavoidable slice of misery.

Always efficient, friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, whether I've gone to mail a package or, most recently, renew a passport. This is what the postal service should be.

If you live in Lacey and your zip code is 98503 and you hold your mail it will come here. This is such a large post office. I had no idea that my mail was here until after I waited 25 minutes in line at the Lacey post office.

It was busy today I wish people who are shipping for a living would pre-print their tags before they showed up

For the most part my experiences here have been fine. But today was awful. Line was 30 minutes and nearly as many people deep. I just needed a package pickup that had been marked as "delivery attempted, held at PO for pickup at customer request" when a) no such request had been made, and b) I received 2 other USPS packages that same day and received no pick-up slip. No idea what happened, and frankly neither did the PO staff. After 45 minutes of other angry customers for various reasons I gave up and left and will put the onus on the shipper to resolve. That won't always be the case. I won't go into the detail of how disorganized everything was on this day because that would take paragraphs I don't want to spend any further time on.
So why 5-stars? Because no less than two others in the the office today made remarks about how "awful" the PO was and that they now understood why it was being defunded. I call B.S. The USPS is the way it is (understaffed and overworked) BECAUSE it is being defunded and de-legitimized for political and business reasons, not the other way around. The USPS, considering everything it does and the volume and scale at which it does so is amazingly competent, all things considered. Overall the postal workers I deal with are professional and helpful and this organization needs the SUPPORT of the public. I would far prefer my package issue experience today than to have the USPS not be available in this country. No question about it. FUND THE POST OFFICE. IT IS A PUBLIC GOOD AND AN *ACTUAL* AMERICAN INSTITUTION.

I had a problem not getting two packages and new to Olympia. I started out pretty unhappy but a supervisor named Cory helped me set up a redelivery for tomorrow and both were delivered just now! You guys just rock! It also takes a tenacious person to find out the correct phone number to get through... and that I am. Thank you all!

This 5 star review is entirely based on one employee. A parcel came that apparently required a signature. The delivery person put a slip in my mail box, (we have community mail boxes), which said "sorry we missed you"! I was home!!! Just down the block!!! This is not the first time this has happened. I signed the slip requesting that the package be delivered the next day. It never came all week. I could not go all the way down town to the main post office, ( the delivery person would not even go down the block), because my husband is disabled and cannot be left alone. I called the post office and was told I could pick it up or request delivery on line. I was afraid we would never see the package, which had come from Europe but could not seem to make it to my house from the Olympia post office. To my complete astonishment, my doorbell rang that evening and it was rhe woman I had spoken to at the post office that morning. After her work shift, she brought the package to me in her own car with her own gas on her own time!!!!
TRULY WAY ABOVE AND BEYOND!!!!
SHANTELL!!!! WHAT AN EMPLOYEE!!
WHAT A HUMAN BEING!!
THANK YOU, SHANTELL!!

I went here to turn in passport applications for me and my 4 kids today. By the time I grabbed all the kids and brought one to the doctors, the office was closed. One of the workers in the front probably noticed my disappointment and went to the back and saw that the passport agents were still there. Then she convinced them to see me. They took pity on me and processed all of our paperwork, even though we were eating up their lunch hour. They were super nice to all my kids as well. I am so grateful that they took the time to help us. Faith in humanity restored.

We recently moved here. I found it somewhat confusing where I should pick up my package but everybody was very friendly and helpful. Our mail carrier even took the time to come and meet me while I was there. She informed me that mail theft was bad on my street and suggested that I never have outgoing mail at the box. I appreciated her advise and care.

Excellent service. The clerks are always helpful and smiling despite the fact that a lot of customers become irate and aggressive over some dumb mistake they themselves made.

The postal workers get a thumbs up from me, I wish these guys got paid better for the massive amount of work they do.

I just picked up a general delivery package that the PO held for much longer than the standard time. Thank you to Lonnie who answered the phone and noted my late arrival on the package. Also, thank you to the supervisor (from Aiea, Hawaii) who was friendly, and promptly located my package. Good job!

didnt exactly love it. but they were prompt and helpful in tracking down my mail and very nice ladies.
i wish people were a little less grumpy and impatient with our postal workers. your review is a reflection of your internal state projected onto these underpaid folks.
