Schlow Centre Region Library

This is a wonderful community library! They offer so many events for the community, including summer and winter reading programs for kids, teens and adults! The library collection is great -- I've never seen a library with such a great comic and manga collection. They have something for everyone!

Trip to the library was very good. Got my membership card renewed and was able to get what I needed done on my computer. Staff was very friendly and helpful!!

Did some browsing in the DVD section, now a 3 week rental! Really good for dvds. As for the books, I've yet to explore the adult level. Once I return; I'll definitely see what I can find.

Overall; really nice place to hangout and just relax too. Definitely be coming more often.

It's a very nice public library. Librarians are kind and you can borrow a lot of books at a time. My children loves to go there, because they have many interesting toys as well.

My daughter always looks forward to going to this library! The staff are very friendly and helpful, and the library has great reading programs for kids. My favorite program is the 1000 books before kindergarten! They also have so many events to attend. Overall It’s such a great environment!

I’ve not explored much beyond the children’s area but it’s such a delight seeing my young kids enjoy a library setting. The staff is always so helpful and welcoming and the amazing kid’s section keeps us coming back! We are so grateful to have such an amazing resource in Happy Valley!

As a librarian myself I can confidently say Schlow is one of the best libraries I have ever been to. To start, there is outdoor parking and underground parking. They have several self check out stations and self service hold pick up. The children's room is huge and has a large amount of staff to provide great youth programming. The second floor is massive and has plenty of tables and seats tucked in and spread out.

If you are a college student, family or person off the street Schlow welcomes you and has something for you to help you learn and grow.

Amazing children & young adult sections. Always clean & organized and the staff is always friendly & helpful. Having a public library like this is definitely a perk of being a State College resident.

Excellent children's department. Staff very willing to help us find the kind of books we were seeking. Also nice to have board games available to borrow on the upper floor.

I always love to check out the gallery on the first floor, showcasing local artists. I’ve always received friendly help. There are many places to sit, including group rooms. You can check out a lot of movies which I think is interesting, as well as packages for book clubs. It’s a good public space to sit and relax without buying anything.

It's my local library I most frequent. It's not the biggest library, but it almost always has the books I am looking for in fiction or more generalized nonfiction reading. Inter-library loan usually takes care of the rest. I use the adult library, so not sure what children's library is like even though they have a large room on first floor. Library also hosts events, and areas are all handicap accessible. Comfortable to read or study in, and also has quiet periods during exam week for the students from PSU.

I love, love, love Schlow Library. The librarians are always so very helpful and very pleasant. The books they have available give you many choices. You can even find books you never thought you would be interested in! Best place in town!!

Pleasant librarians made getting a new card easy. I will enjoy that I can order and hold items on line and pick up later in the week.

Excellent, well-appointed library great for everyone. Only lacking “stacks”, I won’t deduct any stars for that since I can go up to the PSU library if I need a taste of that experience ;)

I love this library: not just for their selection of books, but also for the regular events they are sponsoring (by providing space). In particular, they host monthly board game events where you can meet really nice people and have lots of fun.

Very nice public library. Good location, pleasant and quiet to hang out in for studying/reading/writing. Often has better selection/availability of fiction books than Penn State.

The Schlow library is a great knowledge base. The staff is always friendly & helpful! Everytime I'm there it's a great experience through learning.

Fun place to stop with the kids and have a break while touring the Penn State campus.

Although they have limited hours, Schlow Library is doing a great job making materials available in these difficult conditions. Their online reservation and pickup at the front door works well.
