Staff is very knowledgeable about the how the locks and canal system worked. Lots of historical information about this canal and how it was connected to the canals in Pennsylvania.

What a wonderful, free museum right here in Havre de Grace. Joe was training a new museum attendant and together they gave a wonderful tour through the museum and introduced us to the lockes system in Susquehanna river. Unexpected and wonderful...they are a credit to Harford County government done right!

What a great little hidden gem. I honestly had never heard of this old canal. We just stumbled upon the lockhouse museum while exploring on our bicycles. So glad we did!

Great little museum! We've been several times, sometimes when they are holding events and it's always really nice. The people who work there are all very friendly and helpful.

Beautiful area to explore and learn about the canal and life during that time. We went on a Sunday with the kids to try fishing. Looked like 5" perch or blue gill in the canal waters. We didn't catch anything, but the scenery and experience reading about the turning bridge and waterway systems was really cool. The Lock House was open and touring also. This is a lesser trafficked area than many other parts of Havre De Grace with ample parking. There were no food vendors or anything, but many benches to sit and picnic while enjoying the brackish waters and breeze.

Peace & Blessings! F1RST and foremost, about 85% of folks in attendance were wearing mask 😷 which was a good thing! The ( museum ) was very nice and educational. However, it was a WINE AND JAZZ FESTIVAL that was taking place. My 5☆ rating goes as follows: good weather, good clean environment, good food, good wine, good music, good deals, and good folks...NO ISSUE, CONCERNS, NOR PROBLEMS!❤🎭🙏🏾

Small museum with a rich history. Museums features displays with various artifacts from trains and train operators of the area. Mainly focused on the local history of the railroads that have come and gone through that particular area. The museum also has a very nice miniature rail road.

Lockhouse Museum. Small but educational. Nice place to visit if you are curious about America's Canals. They have a Working Scale Model of the Lock system so you can see how it works. Very interesting and well done. Lots of seasonal local town events are held here too.

This is a small but very unique museum that shows/explains how and why canal's were so important to the growth of our country. Well worth an hour of your time to visit.
