Beautiful Church. I attended a funeral there.

I am not a member of this parish, but have attended several masses with my sister's family over the years. It is always a good spiritual experience for me. The church is very warm and welcoming. On this occasion, however, I found the whole service particularly moving, from the music to the message, to the end. The message this week was about the Hound of Heaven. The celebrant cited a very old poem by this name, which I have subsequently looked up. He spoke about the love and loyalty an old hound has to his family and then the irritation we feel when someone "hounds" us. He likened this to our relationship with God, and wherever we are on that spectrum, God is always with us. I really was touched by this message. So much so, in fact, I shared it with a coworker during the week. Thank you St John's for a mass that sets a standard for all of them.

Beautiful church. Beautiful People. Great Clergy. One of my favorite churches to visit, in person or online.
