We had our hot water heater die on us during one of the snow storms this year - inconvenient at best. I think the date was 2.18.2021. It was 15 years old, so it had a good life. Just a week prior, our neighbors had the same issue and gave David McGoldrick a call. They were very happy with his service, so we gave him a call as well. For both my neighbor and myself, David was out to replace our water heaters within 24 hours, each time during a snow storm. We could not have been happier with the end result, professionalism, and his quality work. Our water heater died on 2.18, and by midday on 2.19 we had piping hot water again.

In fact, while he was here, we had also gotten a ventless gas fireplace that needed to be hooked up, and David gave us a quote and let me know that this kind of work is usually scheduled a few weeks out and he would call me with options for times. He called back after the weekend and within about one week, we had our gas fireplace running. Work was completed in about an hour and again was done professionally with attention to detail.

With the extra parts he needed to complete the work, the cost was higher than the estimate, but since he quoted me at a certain price, he stuck with the original quote even though his cost was higher. We were very appreciative.

In a time when it is difficult to trust *some* people that perform services in your home (i.e. plumber, electrician, etc.) based on some of our past experiences, David will be our go-to plumber if we have any issues in our home. For anyone in the Havertown, PA area, call confidently.

I contacted McGoldrick Plumbing and Heating to remove a natural gas grill that had probably been used once in 13 years. Dan was amazing. He arrived on time. Dan disconnected the grill, removed the old gas line and shut off valve, and patched the hole. I was initially concerned that I might be stuck looking at a gas line coming from the wall once capped off. I will gladly pay for the assurance to know that the job is done right and my family is safe. I am so happy that we have great local contractors like McGoldrick Plumbing and Heating in Havertown. We just completed a massive, 8-month+ total renovation on a 100-year-old commercial building that involved dozens of workers in just about every trade. The guys from McGoldrick were the best subs on the whole project.

After a “full gut” demo, the only remaining plumbing in the building was the water line inlet, the sewer line outlet and a drain to the street. Not only did Dave and his assistant Dan do an amazing job with our entire plumbing infrastructure – restroom, floor drain, water heater, sump pump, etc., etc. - they were punctual, reliable, professional, and pleasant. Dave was quick to reply to my (somewhat incessant) calls and emails, and made a couple unplanned emergency visits on short notice (those few remaining bits of original plumbing? Yeah, they needed attention too…). He was also extremely helpful in choosing the right equipment and fixtures and was very clear and detailed regarding project costs; McGoldrick’s pricing was very competitive too.

Maybe most important for my “detail oriented” self (read: OCD), Dave and Dan did meticulous work, kept their work areas clean, and left the place spotless when they were done each day.

Dave's assistant, Dan, came to repair a leaking valve and discovered that we had a leak in our stack pipe. Dave came to assess the situation and recommended we have someone with a fiber-optic scope look for the site of the break. That done, the other firm gave the results to Dave and we had him do the repair. He and Dan, starting around 9 AM, very neatly cut out a piece of wall to access the stack pipe, cut out the broken pipe and replaced it. By mid afternoon, they had finished the job and cleaned the area beautifully. The contractor who came to repair the wall and re-paint the room commented on how neat the job was and how it made his work easier. Dave has done several other jobs for us and we have always been delighted with his work. I have recommended him to friends and neighbors.

My hot water tank went on me on a Thursday night with water gushing out of the top, causing a flood. Called the emergency line, David called me back within 30 seconds and coached me on what to do. Gave me a price on a new tank within seconds and was here the next day to install the new one and removed the old and debris. You wouldn't even know he was here, that's how clean everything was left. Since I'm a first time homeowner, I don't know everything, I learn as things break. Dave took the time to coach me on a few essentials that I needed to know, should I get a leak anywhere else. Super professional, reliable, very reasonably priced, locally owned business. If I could give them more than 5 stars, I would. Thank you so much McGoldrick plumbing!

I can't say enough good things about McGoldrick Plumbing, but I will try! Responsive (returns calls), professional service (clean, points out any issues while working immediately), fair pricing, courteous staff, used quality materials (i.e. copper vs PVC), hardworking (put in a full day virtually non-stop to get work done, punctual and willing to schedule a realistic time frame to visit home for service. Actually plumbing work is a work of art! I just redid my master bath and could not be more pleased with the work done.
