Blue Bird Inn

Such a cute venue- it was big and busy, yet personable and the service was impeccable .
It has an extensive menu- and our meals and appetizer were delicious!
Drinks were fabulous, too. We tried some off the specials menu. It was happy hour so they were a great price!
Can't wait to go back!!

We have a cottage in Mount Gretna and this is our first time here! I was really blown away by how efficient the restaurant is. We arrived to an absolute packed house and we're in and out with a full meal in under an hour. Outstanding service and the food quality was great.

What can i say? I love this place. There I said it. Beautiful bar, beautiful food, great staff. We ordered two GREAT soups (ate them before a picture happened) and the beautiful brisket sandwich you can see in the photo. I cant lie, this is some of the best brisket ive ever had. id say best brisket ive had in PA for sure. We didnt know the place so someone sat near us, looked like a chef, so i asked their food opinion. Turns out it was Austin who helps run the kitchen, had a great convo, gave us a ton of info about the place and turns out he paid for our Irish car bombs. So nice, so gracious, definitely going to be back to check out the live music!

What a fantastic experience. My wife’s work team was having lunch here and I was invited. So the building itself is rustic and beautiful. There is a very large bar/dining area and that an area that was a patio and is now enclosed. I believe that there are other rooms but that’s just my sense.

The service is very attentive and pleasant, we never felt rushed nor did we feel we were a bother. My wife and I ordered an appetizer of fries that we shared with everyone. Overall there were wings, fries and crispy Brussel sprouts. Everything was perfect and most generous. I ordered a Cobb salad and my wife lobster Mac & cheese. I was so full I took the entire salad home and ate it the next day, my wife had a few bites and it also was fantastic.

The menu is very deep and lots of things sound awesome, so we will be back, the next time on our time not my wife’s company so I’ll be able to test their whiskey selections and update this review.

Great food on their main dishes. I love crab, the crab cakes -broiled- was wonderful!!! Not a lot of filler and broiled so warm all the way through. Hubby had filet and it was pink red, which is what he likes. Blue cheese crumbles was skimpy, though he did not complain. Broccoli was grilled-excellent. We did not sit inside the tavern so we missed the ambience.

We are never disappointed when we dine here! Drinks and food are always delicious!

First time here on a recommendation from a family member. Food was excellent! Beverages were excellent! Atmosphere was excellent! Service was decent! Prices were decent. Will definitely be back.

The cobb salad I ordered was really good but a little on the watery side. The fried avocados were very tasty and something different.

Edited to add our 2nd visit: The fish & chips were awesome. I was not a huge fan of the New England Seafood Roll. They were having an Absolut promotion and we got free shots and Eagles T-shirts!

Lovely space, especially after a day spent at the Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire. We had reservations for 12, and we were accommodated wonderfully.

Coming on a sunny Sunday..the place was packed. We elected to sit at tge bar. The bar tender...she was very entertaining...even with about 15 customers at the outside bar, she was struggling, she had ro leave the bar to get beer from the inside and could have used a runner fro clean glasses since she kept running out. Even this is beyond her control, she made the best of it and wr never had the feeling to be forgotton...hat off to the woman...who stayed so positive during a stressful time. Tge menu is different than most bar menus, this place adds a nice flair to the food. The seefood potato skins where excellent, nice tasting seafood salad, with real nice pieces. The burger was nice with a spicy sauce, also some nice variation of the plain burger. A nice beer selection completes this nice place. If you are close or like to make a trip, please visit this place and enjoy the outside multi tier deck.....however the inside is amazing as well...

We are in the Reading area for a weekend baseball tournament. The hotel we are staying suggested the Blue Bird. I called early evening and was able to make a reservation for two in the patio. They also have a large deck which is very nice but the patio was great. The windows were open but it was very comfortable sitting there in an early October evening. We were seated right away, our server did a great job of being attentive without being overbearing. The menu has plenty of options and is reasonably priced for the quality of food. I would consider the food to be good to very good. I would definitely eat here again, the experience was great!

WOW! What a difference from before! We arrived at the perfect time on a Friday night: 4 PM, to take advantage of the great happy hour specials. 😉
The hub LOVES the crabby pretzel app. It did not disappoint. We decided on lighter fare: Caesar salad and Southwest salad, both served with a grilled chicken add-on. The chicken was grilled PERFECTLY. Seasoned well, and moist. The portion was more than enough. No corners cut. Our server Kelsey, was attentive, engaging and prompt. There wouldn't be one thing I would change. SO glad we decided to go there. Will definitely return-again and again!

My prior review of a few months ago...
It's a neat building and it was clean. Server Luke was very nice. Crabby pretzel app was very good. But the hub's chicken cheesesteak was DRY, WAY overcooked. My fish and chips were just ok. His fresh made seasoned potato chips were also good. Need to kick up food prep a notch to get above an okay rating.

Truly a diamond in Lebanon. You can not find a better vibe anywhere, and the food choices are outstanding! If you don't try the flash fried Brussel sprout appetizer, then you are missing out on one of life's hidden treasures!

Great Find fist time place looks amazing. Can't imagine how it gets when it's summer time. Shure to come back and check it out. Everyone from the Host to our server Allan was Great and Patient. We where Party of 6 so we took a it longer than usual to loom at the menu. Menu was updated but wanted to try everything on the menu. Started of with some drinks MaiTai's to be exact they where delicious, 3 orders of PubFries to go around then came the streaks FYI the back and blue with blue cheese is to die for. Def coming back.

First timers..., not that we never wanted to try coming here. We tried many times...this time we were smart and made a reservation! Now we understand why it was always full when we stopped. The food was amazing. Excellent service. Definitely will be going back! The picture below is Marina-nara; Black and blue steak, baked potato and spinach risotto. (Just a note...I asked for bread with my pasta, and they accommodated).

Absolutely OUTSTANDING! Fine dining dishes with low prices! I mean we were floored by the menu we couldnt decide!The food was exceptional. The service was amazing. Hands down the best restaurant in lancaster county! Get the meatloaf!

This is the place I hope every other restaurant will be. I stopped here after a bike ride and absolutely loved everything they had. The menu is simple and amazing. It was hard to pick an item. The pork tacos were in a class of their own. The sauces and chutney were delicious. The crab cake was something that all other places should strive to replicate. The restaurant and deck are just fabulous. Orange Crush at the bar was fantastic. I want to eat here every night. I really wish they could train other Inns around the state how to do it the way it should be done. Years ago, this quality was much more common in our state. I really like this Inn!!!

The Cajun chicken Alfredo was amazing. The appetizer or brussel sprouts we ordered was delicious.
They make it in such a way you won't believe you're eating brussel sprouts.
The creme brulee was just perfectly done and so good!
The service we received was outstanding! Great staff and atmosphere for a night out and good food.

Second time I was here. Place is very nice. Food and drinks were very good. I got the garlic parmesan boneless wings. These were nothing to brag about. But the meatloaf stack was very good. Will be going back again.

Had a party of 16 for a wedding rehearsal dinner. They set up for us quickly. The food was excellent. Cajun stew, crab cakes, strip steak, fish and chips and salad were highly praised by all. Nice atmosphere with live music. Many in our party said "they will be back". We will too!

I have everything great to say about this place! The food, service, and drinks were excellent!
Would recommend to everyone!
