It’s a great place for a day visit. The visitors center has a small museum and there are plenty of trails for all skill levels and easily accessible natural sights and wildlife. It is all free. Donations are appreciated.

Beautiful place. There are hiking trails, or you can stay in your car and just drive around and utilize then pull off & parking areas. Note that roads/trails may close due to weather or deer hunting. Check the website for information on fishing and hunting.

Lancaster is very lucky to have a gem like Middle Creek in the county! This property, managed by the Pennsylvania Game Commission, is a 6,000-acre preserve with 20 miles of hiking trails and numerous vantage points of the Middle Creek Reservoir. It is famous for the snow geese that visit every year during their migration, but Middle Creek offers beautiful access to nature and great birding no matter what time of year you visit.

I love this place. Born and raised in PA. Have lived in several other USA locations as well. This really is America the beautiful. Plus, we have these wondrous migratory birds from very far away and all these lovely visitor centers and very interesting history. Absolutely beautiful. God be praised. Mrs. BL

Great place to bring the young kids and family. Inside lots to do and explore for the kids and outside lots of beautiful views and nice and very easy trails around. We had a great time together and will be coming back in near future.

the Middle Creek Animal Sanctuary in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania is a good place to watch the spectacular migration of Snow Geese northward.
There are three fixed migration routes for snow geese in North America, and Pennsylvania is one of them. The big lake in Middle Creek is the last resting place for snow geese before they reach home and no more rest.
I really enjoyed my trip to this place to watch the Snow Geese. There were many professional photographers too. When people see the overwhelming white migratory birds resting on the lake, sometimes flying in the air, and sometimes looking for food in the grass, they will always be amazed.

Really great nature center, awesome place for kids. They have a station set up with binoculars for viewing birds. It overlooks the lake. The hiking trails are simple but pleasant. They even have some crafting tables set up sometimes.

Totally beautiful place. Absolutely worth visiting. This was some of the best fall foliage I've ever seen. The lake is beautiful. The landscape is incredible. The trails are well marked and so relaxing. The only thing I would caution is the wooden walkways (only for some potions of the trails) are very slippery when wet, but this is to be expected. But most were easy to just walk next to as well. Seriously awesome place.

The entire area was heavenly beautiful and well managed by the Pennsylvenia game commission. First google took us to the visitors center and then we realized we actually want to go little ahead of us. We saw a snow area! Actually that was was covered by hundreds and thousands of snow geese a beautiful creation of the nature. They always return to this beautiful lake during this time every year! This is so amazingly beautiful and mesmerizing experience!

A week ago our family decided to go on a hike at Middle Creek Wildlife Management Preserve in Stevens,PA. If you are looking for a nice hike to get back into nature this is a good place to do it. They have lot's of different trails to choose from. Our is the conservation trail that has fun facts about different trees and plant life as well as some amazing views. I highly recommend this hike for families especially with younger children.

Are the right time, the experience and views are amazing! We caught the Snow Geese at their peek one weekend and it was beyond impressive, and the next weekend was a fraction of the prior. Still beautiful to see the birds, but the effect is much diminished. It's well worth the trip to have this unique experience.

Beautiful park! Rangers we’re accessible for questions, tidy, bathrooms easily accessible and clean and of course the snow geese were *amazing*. At least three bald eagles were active as well.

Great place to watch migratory snow geese. We got there in mid afternoon in early March and we're not disappointed. Thousands of birds were in flight or resting in the field or lake. We drove around the trail couple times to spot where the birds were resting and waited for them to take off. Once they took off we drove to the next spot. The scenes were spectacular and we're there for Several hours.

I have been visiting Middle Creek for probably over 30 years, and each visit brings an exciting, new experience. The hiking trails are full of native plants during all seasons of the year. If you keep your eyes open, you're sure to see plenty of wildlife, like white-tailed deer, frogs, slugs, monarch butterflies, and, of course, geese.

Beautiful place to go as a family! Great area for pictures, hiking, picnics, or just enjoy the outdoors and the wildlife!
Saw lots of spotted lantern flies (can't take off a star for them... Just hope they don't destroy our favorite hiking area!)
