This was a great find on our visit to Lititz, PA. My son and I enjoyed learning about how pretzels originated in the early 600s and how the hard pretzel was created. We learned how to twist pretzels by hand and got to taste soft and hard pretzels. Our guide was very informative and full of energy. This was a great add-on to the trip we had already planned for our family.

We didn’t get to go on the tour because we found this place last moment and they were already sold out.

For the part we did get to it was great! Clean facility, tasty warm pretzel, tasty samples and ability to buy different type of packaged pretzels for reasonable prices. Cute place. Love the big pretzel outside.

A super fun piece of American history.
Visited a few days after Christmas and was very busy, which was great!
Highly recommend the bakery tour; our guide was knowledgeable and funny. The pretzel store had great selection and was absolutely delicious.

My daughter never met a pretzel she didn't like which meant on our road trip we had to make a stop at the first ever pretzel factory. We got tickets for the tour and our tour guide was a complete doll! So educated on the history of the factory. We became pretzel twisters and of course bought some delicious pretzels on the way out! Highly recommend.

What a fun and delicious experience. Yummo!! Salted pretzels for the trip and chocolate ones to go. The whole town was super cute and amazing. A great little pit stop. The tours were running every thirty minutes. They do give a military discount on the tours only.

After many years (1984), my daughter and I returned to Sturgis Pretzel Bakery for another tour. Our 14-year old docent was very good even though she hadn't been doing the job long. There's been some changes in the tour but was still informative. On-site restroom is accessible. Large soft pretzels, drinks and more are available in the gift shop.

I was pleasantly surprised with this little museum. The young man who provided the history of pretzel making was very informative and entertaining. This was a delightful stop while wandering around Lancaster County.

Good place to stop by and learn how they made pretzel. Fresh bake pretzel are tasty and they sell varieties of them. Peanut butter stuffed pretzel are my favorite. Parking at the side part of the shop.

This is the original hard pretzel bakery in the country! It is still family fun by their 5th generation family members. The tour is 30 minutes and adults pay $5 for a ticket! It's a deal to learn about history, make a pretzel and learn about why a pretzel is shaped that way, plus how Julius Sturgis did not give up on his crazy idea to make hard pretzels in addition to just soft ones! Our guide was a young lady who was entertaining and fun and you can go in groups of 12-16 through parts of the original home and bakery! I highly recommend this tour, so fun and educational and inexpensive! A win, win, win!

The absolute best pretzels ever!!!! Hot, fresh pretzels for purchase. The store was stocked with so many different types of pretzels. Cheese, caramel, mint, and chocolate just to name a few. Pretzel dips, coffee mugs, Christmas ornaments, postcards, shirts, magenta, etc! Perfect store layout. During our arrival the tour was.sadly.sold out for the day. We will definitely be back to do the tour and pick up more goodies! Plenty of on street parking.

It was fun to visit the bakery after watching a TV show featuring it. It's not huge, it's cute little bakery with a long history. The tour was def worth it. Pretzels were very delicious, crispy not like what you get from the store. Also the soft pretzels were good too.

Such a fun experience learning about hard pretzels, their history and creation, with a hands on opportunity to learn how to twist pretzels.

This is not a restaurant! It is a tour of an original pretzel factory, supposedly where the pretzel originated in PA. You can make a reservation for $5 to learn the history and roll a pretzel. You get a sample bag at the end but they have a small store where you can purchase all kinds of their pretzels and souvenirs. This is not a working factory. (that is located somewhere else in PA)
I wish I opened the sample bag before I left because they were the best I ever tasted! Now I have to wait to go back!

This is a cute tour that includes history with a little bit of hands on learning. Our guide, Jacob, was very enthusiastic with our small group. You get to twist dough into a pretzel shape and see the original ovens.

The ovens aren't running, but if you are visiting in the summer, I imagine you will be thankful for that. The store has a number of hard pretzel options as well as a soft pretzel with cheese. 🥨 🧀

If you are looking for a downtown area to walk around in Lancaster County, go to Lititz. While there, make sure to go to this pretzel tour. The young tour guide we had was great, and learning to make a pretzel was fun and simple. At the end of the tour, you get a sample bag of the Tom Sturgis little pretzels....and they are delicious. We also got a fresh pretzel, and it was yummy. It is a simple pretzel with salt on it, no butter brushed on like some chain places. Add a little yellow mustard, and it was delicious.

The bakery still bakes their soft pretzels in this original site. We ate two before we made it to the car! Literally watched them from the time they rolled the dough until they slid the tray out of the oven. Unbelievably delicious. The tour guide was upbeat and great with the kids, answering all questions and thoroughly explaining the history. We had such a nice time and recommend everyone take the tour. It was fun to learn the history of the pretzel and even get to try it out for ourselves.
