This is a beautiful store in the heart of downtown Jonestown with a great display of interesting guitars for sale. The owner, who has been in business for decades, does first rate repairs and modifications for his customers and has earned their love and respect. If you're looking for a guitar or need repairs and appreciate down home honesty, this is the place to go.

This is a bucket list guitar store. Ever guitarist must visit this place. I've gone there since the mid eighties and Matt Creter is great to deal with. He is a straight shooter and really cares about his customers. The man is an encyclopedia of guitar knowledge and a GREAT guitarist in his own right. He really has a passion for what he does. He is an expert at fixing and tuning up guitars also. He has supported many charitable musical events. He is full of common sense and is a honest, great guy. I'm serious!! Nuff said.

Creter Guitar Shop fixed my guitar that the bridge separated from the body. Looks and plays great. This guitar has sentimental value to me because my wife bought it for me many years ago. Thanks Matt.

I've been blessed to know owner Matt for most of my life. One of the nicest and most helpful guys you'll ever meet. Always gives good advice and great deals wether buying or selling. His life and business dealings exemplify clean living and solid Christian values.

I stopped in here to see about getting a couple of guitars for our boys for Christmas. The store is easy access right in the little town of Jonestown. It is a cozy little shop with a good selection of acoustic and electric guitars. The owner is Matt and he was extremely helpful with my questions and gave me some suggestions on what to get. Very competitive pricing. Highly recommended place. He also does repairs to guitars, banjos, and the like.

Just recently visited saw that 2 years I gave a 5 stars and in 2024 still absolutely stand by it!

Matt is not only a great guy he's also a great musician. He knows his stuff. He is a great guitar repair guy. And his shop has a ton of guitars. Also accessories. The best guitar place in the business. I have been playing the guitar for over 30 years and I do not trust anyone else with my repairs, etc!

I went for repairs for a broken neck. Matt gave me an honest assessment and I then bought a very reasonable and great playing used guitar. I went back to get a new guitar set up and in just a few minutes he transformed it into something really special. Very friendly, extremely knowledgeable, very fair prices and you can tell they love what they do.

I took my Sigma dreadnought guitar here. The top had bowed a bit lifting the bridge. The fixed the problem in a timely manner and at a great price. The guitar now plays as good as ever. I will definitely come here again for anything I need for my guitars.

This is a gem of a shop. We appreciated the knowledgeable personal service and advice they gave for my 11 yr old daughter. We will be back.

Walked in with a banjo. The man was working on a guitar. Young lady in front of me was looking for strings. The man walked her through the options and explained pretty thoroughly. She purchased some strings. I asked a ton of questions. Purchased a tuner ,picks, etc. He tuned the banjo and showed me how to use the tuner. Great customer service. . Very nice store. Friendly atmosphere. Will go here for now on.

Edit: I started taking lessons for banjo. Very comfortable setting. Each instructor has a room. The waiting area is comfortable with a table and couch. I warm up at the house before my lesson. When I arrive I tune up and warm up again for about 5 minutes before my lesson starts in the waiting room. Excited for future lessons.

Edit: Corey is the gentleman I take lessons from. I have had 7 lessons and couldn't be happier. Comfortable atmosphere, it's clean and the encouragement is through the roof. He is very patient. I am excited for the future and look forward to every lesson. If you had been thinking about taking lessons I would say do it. Great experience so far.

Matt is just the best guy around. Extremely friendly and helpful! I can't think of any reason to visit any other music store.

Matt is a mechanic not a salesman. He will get you what you need and not for a penny more than what you need to spend. Every guitar on his wall plays better then new, and he will adjust it to your feel and playing style until you are happy. Great shop, and one hell of a guitar player.

Creter Guitar Shop is the only place I will go to for my guitar repairs and tune-ups. Matt is very knowledgeable, and cares a lot about the satisfaction of his customers. I always come away with the sound that I want. He's worth the extra drive even though I don't live close anymore.

Excellent service from Creter Guitar Shop. Bought a Les Paul and had it shipped to Florida. The shipping was fast, the packaging was incredible, and the guitar is amazing. Will definitely keep an eye on their inventory for future purchases.

It is beautiful to meet someone who is truly passionate about their work. Matt Creter loves guitars and music and it really shows. He took the time out of his busy day to teach me the basics of slide guitar. This place is a little out of the way, but certainly worth the drive. I've been going here for 15+ years and will continue to buy from Matt as long as he is in business. Luckily for me he ships outside of the state. Also, if you need anything repaired, this is the guitar shop to go to.

Mike dermes here. I bought 2 guitars while in the usaf in the early 70s. To say Crater exceed my expectations is an understatement. They attached the neck repaired body frets ect adj play nd made it look beautiful. It didn't play or sound this good when new. At a son's recommendation I drove many miles past many guitar shops. They also have my 12 string nd won't give to me until they r happy. They love what they do they r 2nd to none. I expected to pay twice what they charged me.
