Such a unique place to see and you can stop right here and check it out quickly.
The trail runs right along here too if you have more time and want to walk/run or bike.

Let me start off by saying that there is a lot of activity going on here including: bicyclists, joggers, 3 wheel bikers, & walkers! Now onto The Park itself... ABSOLUTELY STELLAR ATMOSPHERE, THE KILNS & THE STORY PLAQUES WERE UTTERLY UNBELIEVABLE & UNIQUELY CREATIVE... really makes you want to grab a trowel and some mortar & get them back into better condition! It is the perfect place to relax or go for a swim in the nearby pool!

Was closed today we went due to covid. But excellent trails it's right on the rails to trail line. There's also a kiddy park right nearby and good parking. There's a Giant grocery store about two blocks away. Had a good time with my daughter husband and two grandsons walking the trail .

The birthplace of Portland Cement. Great place to park with your small children before you try the well kept and pleasant Ironton Trail for walking or biking. Public bathrooms are up the hill next to the town pool. Large playground on site. Lots of shade.

Nice park. You can park here to walk the rail trail. The kids playground is a but dated but my kids loved the variety. There is even a small sledding hill in the winter. Of course, the kilns are really neat as well.

Just passed through when I was on the rail trail. Looked very good park. Extremely clean park with great looking play area and lots of safe free parking.

Interesting facts, it's a shame the cement is falling apart. First time going there. They have more to the park but didn't walk around the whole thing.

I called it a beautiful historical place with a nostalgic atmosphere. Towers were exciting and definitely worth the 30-minute drive.

Very clean, very nice spot… BEWARE OF THE BASEBALL FIELD! The fence that borders the walkway is FULL of yellow jackets, like hundreds of them! But the rest of the park is every beautiful

I love this park. It's named after David O Saylor who was 1 of the founders of America first Portland cement plant. Which those red brick vertical kilns here at Saylor park are from. There is also the slate outcrop. Saylor park sits along the Ironton rail trails 5 mile loop. The loop is relatively easy to ride/walk very slight hills, back in the steam locomotive era there was a risk of locomotive boilers exploding from water not fully covering the fire box so railroads were only between 1 and 3 % grade and the loop follows The old ironton railroad. Hence ironton rail trail. This is also a part of the D&L trail. I have rode the D&L from Lehigh Gap trail station site all the way to the freemansburg trailhead. I have some high lights of the trail from on YouTube "Anthony J Adventures." For railfan of old there is some old railroad stuff as well as a section of trolley track. I haven't rode the whole spur but there is a 4 mile spur with a vintage combination car, half restored, a fully restored caboose along the trail as well. Just past the kilns before the Coplay manitence faclity on the right in the woods is an old wood boxcar on private property it's rotted real bad but visible. There Also a Plymouth switcher locomotive up for static display restoration for Northamptons Dragon cement company. On the spur. There is also a beautiful trestle bridge you go under on the trail. Other highlights are a concrete phone booth for cementon east end yard with a utility pole with hundreds of glass insulators on it. If you visit you my see me on the trail. Great in the winter as well.

Great park space tied to the Iron Rail Trail. The 13 mile lollipop trail was beautiful paved the entire length with a few road crossings. Very well maintained.
