The Checkerboard Inn Bar & Restaurant

Server was very nice. Got some awesome nachos and a delicious cheesesteak with some tots. Bar is great with a lot of beers on tap.

The deck outside is also very nice , especially in the fall

Update: 2nd visit this summer and tried the Black & Blue Wings (shown in pic). These wings are baked with rub rather than fried and then i chose mild sauce that has the bleu cheese in it. Absolutely delicious. Also shown is the black and blue burger Also fantastic. — Lived in NEPA for years and this was my first visit. Nice bar food menu and great pizza. All the food was terrific. They have a great outdoor patio area with a bar as well as nice indoor seating with a bar as well. Pretty decent draft beer selection too.

Enjoyed a chicken cheesesteak with some crispy wings and a couple Mango 🥭 Cart beers on a sunny Friday Memorial Day weekend evening. Definitely on the list for repeat visits 👍.

We had the thin crust pizza and wing bites. Both were very tasty and our order came out quickly. The waitress was super friendly. We'll definitely be going back!

Great place to watch game and get some food. Wings are always on point and pizza was great. My friend got one of the special and he said it was amazing. Highly recommend checking this place out for a great atmosphere and food.

This was my first visit in many years. We sat at the bar on a Sunday during football. The bartender was great. Food came out quickly and was very good. Even had a few craft beers on tap.

Great town bar! Excellent service. The outside bar is hopping. They support local athletes.

DINE IN NOW ALLOWED!!! My waitress was great...i wear two hand braces and a sling, she had my personal pizza cut into smaller pieces for me so I could pick them up. How great is that? Service excellent, food delicious and being able to come in BONUS!!

We’ve been there 4-5 times and never order the same thing twice with the exception of the humongous pretzel appetizer. We’ve never been disappointed. The food is amazing, the portions are huge and the prices are so reasonable. Today we were served by Callie who was a sweetheart. If you would offer a vegetarian burger, I’d be even happier! I’m only sorry I didn’t get our previous servers names and didn’t post this sooner. You won’t be disappointed. Especially when you can sit outside!

Went for lunch on Father's day and didn't have to wait for a table at the bar, which was fine because my Dad and brother loved playing the games while waiting for our food. I ordered the turkey wrap and it was gigantic! I asked for everything on it and they sure did! The wrap was grilled to a pleasant crisp so it didn't get soggy. A large pile of hot fries and a pickle came with it. My Dad ordered a pizza as usual and it was perfectly done. Our bill was reasonable and our waitress was friendly and made sure we were happy. Glad we chose Checkerboard for my disabled Father's special day. Thank you :)

We actually had a graduation party at the pavilion behind which was very nice air-conditioned game room basketball hoops and two horseshoe pits. Just an all-around nice place to have a party. They made the food that was good too

We had our rehersal dinner at checkerboard and it was great. Stephanie who helped set up was great and communicated well.

Our waitress was so nice!! The food was delicious. They have RC which I love. And we had some leftovers to take home as well. Would definitely do an event there in the future as the pricing was very reasonable.

The food is amazing!!!!! The shredded chicken loaded nachos and crab cake sandwich are killer!! The tater tots are even just crispy and delicious. Highly recommend!
