I have nothing but wonderful things to say about
Dr. Zeltzman. My mastiff mix (Ace) tore his ACL in both back legs so he needed TPLO on his right leg first. Then when that leg was healed he got his left leg done. The both surgeries had great outcomes.I’m so glad I did my research on which surgeon I wanted for him. Dr Zeltzman is fantastic and I can’t thank him enough. My buddy can run again!

Dr. Zeltman is a caring, compassionate person. He makes himself personally available for questions and concerns. He called me personally the day before Eve's surgery to go over instructions and answered all of my questions with patience.

Dr Zeltzman repaired my Rottweiler’s ACL and knee this past year and I am extremely pleased with the results. She healed nicely and recovered quickly. In he past, with other surgeons for other pets of mine, I did not have the same experience with the healing and recovery time. I was amazed at what Dr Zeltzman did and his professionalism. He took the time to explain the surgery and recovery process every step of the way. I highly recommend him for any pet owner that needs surgery for their pet.

I initially reached out to Dr. Zeltzman seeking help for my 4-year-old golden retriever, Bailey, who tore her ACL. Our local veterinarian surgical offices were booked for months and I was running out of options. After hours of researching online, I decided to take a chance and email Dr. Zeltzman. He replied to my email within just a few hours with several options, as well as several resources. His team was incredibly helpful in scheduling all pre-op lab work, providing detailed instructions to prepare for the surgery, etc. We were able to schedule the successful surgery in just over 1 week. After the surgery, Dr. Zeltzman and his staff have been so resourceful and kind with all of my questions as a first-time dog owner. The staff at HRVSS were there to help Bailey from the morning of the surgery, a phone call when she woke up from anesthesia, all the way to helping me carefully put her into the car the day after the surgery. His team provided a detailed rehab schedule to follow after the initial 8 weeks post-op recovery period. Bailey has made a full recovery without any issues thus far. She is full weight-bearing, running, jumping, etc. I cannot type how thankful I am to have come across Dr. Zeltzman's name after doing my research on where to turn to after running out of options in my area. With that being said, thank you so much Dr. Zeltzman and team for all you have done for Bailey, we are entirely grateful.

Looks like I forgot to provide a review for these amazing people. My pit mix tore her ACL last summer and underwent surgery last fall. Having a newborn and another dog in the house made the rehab seem impossible but Dr. Z and his assistant were very supportive and approachable throughout the entire process. Most importantly, our pup is as good as new after surgery and rehab. Hopefully I don't need them again but would if the situation presented itself.

My dog Jasper tore his ACL and our Veterinarian Mountain Shadow uses Dr Zeltzman as their surgeon. We had a great experience and Jasper is now back to walking on a leash. Dr Zeltzman is very thorough and explained each step in detail. We are completely satisfied with his surgery/recovery. I highly recommend Dr Zeltzman and Jasper says thank you.

Dr. Zeltzman was highly referred to us when we were looking for surgical options to help our 11 year old Pit Bull-mix. He did not disappoint, he lived up to his excellent reputation and then even managed to exceed it! I was heartbroken to learn my senior dog needed surgery, and even more upset once I learned how serious the surgery and recovery for a torn ACL was.
Dr. Zeltzman returned my email shortly after sending it out and had her scheduled within days, which was such a huge comfort after watching her in pain awaiting for me to find a Surgeon for her. He made time to speak to me over the phone and answer all ten thousand of my questions, and walked me through the procedure and recovery process. He acted upon a way in which it was very clear my dog's best interest was always his main focus while understanding this can be a difficult process for her owners. Dr. Zeltzman made time to follow up through email and phone calls through out her recovery and made himself available for all of my questions when ever I had one. His compassion and drive to help is genuine and I highly recommend him! I can not thank him enough for the excellent care he provided and how he restored the health of my beloved best friend.

Dr Zeltzman is a great Doc/surgeon. My dog had to get both rear legs ACL repairs done. He explained everything in detail and cared for my dog. It's great to have a vet that understand the importance of your animal. My dog is happy and getting back to her playful self.

Dr. Zeltzman was amazing! In early December of 2019, x-rays at the emergency vet confirmed that our 9 year-old lab mix, Molly, had torn her right ACL. Our regular veterinarian informed us that nobody at their office performed that type of surgery. They gave us a few names of local surgeons, but each of them had a bit of a backlog. It was literally just about 2 weeks before Christmas, and I was panicking. There was no way I wanted our sweet girl to suffer through the holidays. I did a little research of my own, and came across Dr. Zeltzman’s website. THANK GOD. I remember sending him an email, thinking “I hope I hear something within a few days.” He emailed me back the same night. We ended up talking on the phone, and 8 days later, Molly had her surgery. To say that we’re grateful is a huge understatement. Dr. Zeltzman is professional, dedicated, and particular- all things you want in someone performing delicate surgery on your precious pet. I also spoke with his nurse, Kat, several times, and she was just as amazing. He also recommended some quality supplements to help Molly’s joints, and we really appreciated his recommendations. We were also concerned about Molly’s other leg, because sometimes if one leg goes, the other one might, too. During her final post-op x-rays, we had the tech also x-ray her other leg, just to see how it looked. Though it didn’t look all that great, it’s okay for now. His nurse emphasized that Dr. Zeltzman “treats the animal, not the x-ray.” That spoke volumes about his ethics. He sincerely cares about animals and their welfare, and not about the money or unnecessary procedures. Also, speaking of money- the surgery & associated fees were actually lower than nearly every other surgeon we attempted to get a consult with. Yet another plus for this incredible veterinary surgeon! On behalf of the Davis family, we thank you, Dr. Zeltzman. Our “polar bear” is so excited to start chasing squirrels and bunnies again very soon. We pray that Molly’s other leg holds up, but if we end up needing a repair, we know exactly who to call!

Our 7 year old Labrador, Peter injured his back leg. After having a drawer test performed it was determined he had torn his cruciate ligament. At this point he was only walking on 3 legs and pulled the injured leg up towards his abdomen. Needless to say my husband and I were very upset but knew we had to help Pete. We began researching procedures and surgeons. We opted for a TPLO surgery performed by Dr. Phil Zeltzman.
It was a major surgery consisting of cutting and re positioning the bone with a plate and screws. Post op was 4 weeks of living ground level and Pete was allowed outside for elimination only with a 4 week ex-ray of the leg. The next 4 weeks gradually increased activity on lead only. Treated his leg as though it was crystal. At 8 weeks a second ex-ray was performed. Dr Zeltzman and his nurse were available every step of the way. It certainty was not easy and at one point my husband and I questioned our decision. However, fast forward to the present and we are 5 months post op and Pete is loving life once again! Absolutely worth it. I would recommend seeking out Dr Zeltzman should you have the need. He's a very transparent Dr, doesn't mince words and truly has your pets best interest in mind.

My 8-year old husky (Smokey) was suffering from a huge bleeding tumor on his leg that his vet misdiagnosed as a hematoma. Precious time was lost that made the tumor worse. Smokey and I are extremely close as he has survived 800+ epileptic seizures with my assistance. Smokey is my hero . I was very worried and thought that Smokey may lose his leg or possibly die. I spoke to numerous veterinarians who did not seem to understand the urgency of the situation. I prayed every day and night for someone to help Smokey. The Creator heard my prayers and sent me to Dr. Phil Zeltzman. Dr. Zeltzman was extremely courteous, kind, caring, professional and the answer to my prayers. His level of knowledge was clearly light years above all other veterinarians. I m very happy to report that Smokey has totally recovered from the surgery and is back to his normal self again. I can't thank Dr. Zeltzman enough. A 5-star review is an understatement. He is truly one of a kind!

Our dog, Coco, has had 2 surgeries with Dr. Zeltzman both 100% successful. Her first was at 6 months old when she injured her growth plate just playing in the backyard. Dr. Zeltzman monitored her on a weekly basis for 2-3 months and we've never had another issue with her front leg. Fast forward 5 years and Coco had TPLO surgery on her back leg. Again Dr. Z monitored her closely and after 8 weeks and 2 x-rays post surgery we started rehab and Coco is doing great. She was actually putting weight on her leg within a few weeks. Dr. Zeltzman has helped our dog get full use of her legs after surgery. We hope to avoid further surgery but without a doubt we will return to Dr. Zeltsman if needed.

I came across Dr. Zeltzman via a Google search for veterinarian surgeons that offer TPLO's,after the prognosis that our male pitbull tore his ACLs, we were looking for alternatives to the surgeries offered in our area.
Dr. Zeltzman's website had a plethora of great information and amazing stories so we were optimistic!! From our initial outreach to Dr. Zeltzman to our final follow-up he was thorough, caring, and answered all of our questions. Our male Otto has surgery in May 2019, and then again with his sister Honey in October 2019. Dr. Zeltzman has a non-traditional rehab for TPLO's but, it is excellent and exceptional!! It is so much easier for owners and dogs!!
The amount of care that Dr. Zeltzman and his nurses at Brodeheadsville Vet Clinic portrayed was top notch!!
Our pups did amazing during recovery and are now out running around again!! Our male went from not being able to walk 15 feet without sitting down to trotting along and packing on 15lbs. of muscle! Our female is now her bubbly, crazy self!!
Yes it was costly, tiring, and nerve wracking but I wouldn't change it for the world!! I just want anyone out there with a large dog with this injury don't mess around, don't let it go, don't get a brace!! Let Dr. Phil Fix it!! 😊

Dr zeltzman is a amazing surgeon. He has done surgery on my golden retriever twice, 2 tplo surgeries. We were blessed to come upon him through our veterinarian hospital. He just cleared my Winston today, it was a long 4 months, but so well worth every minute. And my baby thanks him, no more limping, no pain. He even has helped him with his diet, and it is going well.
I will recommend this surgeon to anyone, and I have a lot of “furbaby “ friends!
We thank you from the bottom of our hearts! You are “The Best”!

Dr. Zeltman....where should I start. A thank you is just not enough. Everyone's pet means the world to them, and you get that. You treated us ( the crazy dog parents) just as importantly as you treated our boy Bruiser! And, as if that wasn't enough, you went over and above when Bruiser was having difficulties with the supplements you wanted him to take. You repaired his leg, yes, but you treated and cared for the whole dog and his family. You are a special person and I am so glad we made the decision to have you help us get our boy moving again! And moving he is! Thank you seems insufficient, but please accept it from the bottom of our hearts. Will send you pictures of Bruiser hiking in Acadia this coming fall! Terri , John, and Bruiser

From the bottom of our hearts we want to thank Dr. Phil Zeltzman Surgeon, the veterinarians and staff of BAEC for the great care our 3 year old Rottie "Titan" received while under their loving and devoted care. He had to undergo major abdominal surgery Friday 8/19/16 with no promise he would pull through. He came home on Sunday 8/21/16 and is quickly getting back to his same old self. Now we call him the "Million Dollar" dog, but it was well worth the price. Thanks to all from Wanda and Jim Auburn Pa.

May 8th my hunting dog (german wite hair pointer) went in for a knee replacement. T plate, 8 screws and a new knee. After 3 months of physical therapy and healing my 7 year old best friend had a banner season hunting birds this year and has shown no signs of weakness or inability in the feild. She's pain free and living the life we deserve. Thank you so much for all you've done.

Dr Zeltzman repaired my German Shepherd Harpers left ACL in October of 2023 and also did her right knee the year before. His professionalism and level of care is outstanding. My questions and calls were always answered. The night before surgery he called and explained exactly what was going to take place the next day. Both surgeries went extremely well. Post-surgery and rehab are tough but if you follow his TPLO instructions you will not be disappointed in the results. Harper's back to her normal self.
