Jonathans Restaurant

Jonathan’s restaurant is by far the best place to go for dinner in the valley! My wife and I went for our anniversary dinner and the meal was out of this world. I love the atmosphere in the place, and the view you have of the lake from either the dining room or their outside deck is an added bonus. The staff was extremely helpful giving recommendations and helping us feel comfortable. But the meal itself is what will keep us coming back for more. The flavors were incredible, the portions are very generous (even had leftovers), and the presentation gave it that extra touch of class! We had to try one of the homemade desserts, even though we could barely make room, but it was so delicious and worth it. I can’t wait to go back to our favorite spot. Check them out if you’re anywhere close, you won’t be disappointed.

Literally the best duck I’ve ever had! It was so amazing I went back the very next day and had it again. Seems excessive, but try it and you’ll understand. I was skeptical of the portions until the food came out and I ended up having to take home leftovers. The prices were great too. We got two cocktails, two very full entrees, an appetizer, and a dessert to take home for approximately $120. Not bad at all for a fine dining experience! I’ve recommended it to friends who have gone and loved it as well. Jonathan’s is a hidden gem and my new favorite place.

After hearing wonderful things about Jonathans we went with the family last night. Nicolette was our waitress. She was amazing! This restaurant is not only some of the BEST food in the area but extremely welcoming to their guest. You get what you pay for and that’s high end/tasty food and drinks. We would highly recommend. We look forward to going back!

Amazing experience! If you thought gourmet kitchen will leave you hungry, think again. Ambience is elegant yet unassuming, got to meet the owner and found out much of the decor and furnishings are one of a kind; a truly aesthetic treat. Food is not something found in the area. The chef, Wendy, is an artist who left me wanting to taste my dates food as well. The combinations on every dish were as imaginative as they were delicious. You should skip several meals before visiting this amazing restaurant. Everything is so tasty, you cannot restraint yourself from having all of the dishes. Will definitely be back to try the live bands and more casual side of the establishment upstairs

Great experience for my son and I at Jonathan’s! After a long day at the lake we were looking for somewhere to get a good steak dinner. We heard great things about Jonathan’s and we wanted to check it out. We were in more casual attire so we weren’t sure whether to go in or not, but they were so welcoming. They were so accommodating and even offered to make my son something more kid friendly, but we both wanted to try the filet. It was cooked to perfection and accompanied by amazing sides to complement the overall flavors. We are so happy to have a delicious restaurant so close to the lake that welcomes you right in and leaves you feeling full and satisfied. Check this place out if you frequent Harvey’s lake or anywhere near.

Was just there for my birthday!! We had a wonderful time with amazing food and drinks. The crab cakes are by far the best that I ever had and my husband had the sea bass and he couldn’t stop raving about it. The staff was so professional and friendly. This restaurant is by far one of the best restaurants in the back mountain.

We’ve had some of our most memorable and fantastic get togethers at Jonathan’s. Whether it was a large family gathering or an intimate dinner for a few….The food options and cocktails and atmosphere is perfect. The crab cakes and steaks are amazing. It’s our families favorite spot!

One of my favorite places. Great food and service. Love the dining area, the deck and music. You could not find a more welcoming place for anyone from any background. The quality of the food and attention to detail is exceptional.

What a gem in the Back Mountain! My husband and I frequently go to Jonathan’s and have never been disappointed. The food and drinks are outstanding, and they have the most delicious specials. The tuna tartare special is by far the best around (I often get a double order as my entrée)! The staff are always so kind and accommodating and take the time to make sure everyone is enjoying their dining experience. The atmosphere is very comfortable and inviting. Jonathans is a great spot for a casual dinner after a day on the dock, but it also has the right vibe for more special occasions. It is definitely one of our favorite places and we are very happy that Jonathans is back at the lake!

Excellent!! Had the crab chips as an appetizer and shared an onion soup. Both were outstanding but the onion soup was the best I ever had. Can’t say enough about the flavors. My dinner was spot on. By far my favorite place to go in Northeast PA. Can’t be the view too, right next to the lake.

My wife and I stopped here for the first time. Our initial impression upon entering the building was that it had really neat architecture. The restaurant is on the first floor. When you enter, walk straight down the hall and it is on the right.

Upon entering the restaurant, we were greeted very quickly and in an extremely friendly manner. The gentleman took our coats and we were quickly seated.

The inside of the restaurant is very cozy and romantic. We did notice that there is a large artwork picture of Kramer from Seinfeld above the fireplace, which was pretty neat.

There is also a very large window facing River Street which gives you a very nice view when eating.

We were quickly greeted by our waitress in a friendly, welcoming manner.

While waiting for our dinner, we were provided fresh bread and butter. The bread was delicious.

For appetizers, my wife and I both got the Colossal crab with butter and Old Bay. It was delicious.

For our main meals, my wife had gotten the crab cake and I had gone the filet mignon.

My wife said that her crab cake was extremely tasty and well prepared with plenty of crab and very little filler.

My filet was done perfectly. It was seasoned to perfection, and very moist and tender. I've been trying to find a restaurant who can cook a filet like another local restaurant which we love. Until this time, no one has even come close. I would rate Jonathan's filet right on par with this other local restaurant.

The dinners came with a choice of potato. My wife had gotten the baked potato which was delicious and I had gotten the steak fries which were also delicious. They were a little crunchy on the outside but soft and moist on the inside.

The meals also came with a vegetable, which were grilled mixed vegetables. They were cooked and seasoned perfectly.

Overall, the owner and workers of Jonathan's should be very proud because they have provided an excellent dining experience. We will definitely be back!

Also, as a side note, you can park in the parking lot to the left of the restaurant even though it says permit parking only. The worker said it was okay to park there.

Our waitress was the worst....we sat downstairs....she got our drink orders wrong and was more interested cruising her cell phone at the bar instead of helping us. We had to wave her down each time we needed her. Initially we were the only customers down there....so there was no excuse. With that she yelled from the side of the bar...." Loudly she yelled...."Do you want drink? There were four of us at the table. Never checked with us to see how our appetizers were and had a very bad attitude. I have her name....if the owner wants to re-train her. It was my sister's birthday...thank God the food was great.I want this local restaurant to succeed.

Not only the best restaurant in this area, but the best in the WORLD! Every time we go it gets better than the last time. They make you feel like you are home! Trust me, you MUST try Jonathans!

This was our first time there , reservations are not required but recommended , luckily there was a cancellation and we got right in .

Food was superb. And very reasonable price .

Staff was all Friendly and accommodating.

How can you not like a restaurant that hides the three stooges in its decorations

Had the most wonderful dining experience here! I absolutely loved the decor. As if antique Victorian meets modern industrial speak easy vibe. The waiter was so cordial and most accommodating. I ordered the crab at gratin and it was absolutely divine! I really enjoyed the entire dining experience and Chef Melissa is a Magician in the kitchen!! I highly recommend.

I consistently have a good meal here with creative menus that include a delicious strawberry soup with puff pastry and a drizzle of chocolate for dessert! Phenomenal! Great service with a luxurious atmosphere are to be expected here. It’s a beautiful treat to dine here in style and taste.

Absolutely fantastic meal this evening at Jonathan's. We loved the blueberry soup , pear and brie Flatbread, beet salad, tuna stack. One of the tastiest moist perfectly prepared pork chops we have ever tasted. Rarely do we rate five stars , however this restaurant is perfection. We can't wait to return !

Celebrated my wife’s graduation here the food was outstanding and the service was excellent the beet salad was fresh and was one of the best I’ve ever eaten and the roasted duck was exceptional. My had the crab au gratin which was creamy and piping hot!

Great food and wait staff. Loved everything! The chef prepared a decadent chocolate cake for my husband's birthday, it was amazing.
My son especially enjoyed the chip bucket and I give the crab cakes 5 🌟.

Hubby and I went for dinner, I had crab cakes & he had fish. Our dinner was wonderful. We will make it our weekly date night place. A+A+A+A+A+
