Small hometown restaurant with great food and nice people. Definitely recommend! I had a BEC bagel and shared “silver dollar potatoes” (never heard of them before) with onions.

Absolutely loved. Like a trip back in time to an old luncheonette complete with counter and menu on a board on the back wall. Breakfast food was great and very inexpensive. My wife and I both had more food than we could finish and a soft drink for less than $20, including tip. Definitely will be our breakfast go-to spot.

Old Town diner and atmosphere. Sit and eat at the long counter or choose a table. Down home cooking well done. Bitting's doesn't have the polish and sterility of a modern restaurant, this is where the locals come for good grub and fixin's. We're looking forward to another hearty Bitting's breakfast.

Nice local breakfast joint. Staff were nice and attentive. The sausage, egg, and cheese bagel was amazing and I can't wait to get breakfast from here again

"Good Old Boy" place. Friendly waitresses, good food. Periodically, they offer "special" meals ( Christmas, Thanksgiving, Easter, etc.) The meals are sometimes about a week before the actual holiday and pre-ordering is a must if you want to be sure of availability. When they do, it's an extremely good value for a complete meal. Waitresses and patrons love kids. Very senior citizen friendly.

Best sausage gravy I’ve had in a long time. The homemade shortcake was delicious as well. Super friendly staff for my husband and I being “out-of-towners”. Very welcoming. Will be returning next time we are in the Newport area.

What a wonderful little Cafe where you can take a trip down memory lane when good food, great service, and neighborly conversation existed.

I just really enjoy Bitting's Restaurant in Newport, PA. Their name is not posted outside the restaurant so it is harder to locate if you are just cruising around looking for someplace to do breakfast. Parking is generally pretty easy to get, and you should note there are steps going up to the main entrance.

Inside the atmosphere reminds me of an old fashioned restaurant from my earlier years (I'm 61 years old as of this writing). The waitresses are very friendly and go out of their way to make you happy. This is primarily where I go to get breakfast and they serve a really good breakfast until they close (which is early since, as I mentioned they primarily serve breakfast).

The food is really good (as good as if you prepared it yourself... providing of course that you are also a great cook!). Selections include eggs (any way you like 'em), pancakes, bacon, scrapple, bagels, cereal, oatmeal, sausage, excellent coffee (which they do keep coming for as long as you stay), various juices and other breakfast beverages, and basically... if it deals with breakfast, they got you covered! I particularly enjoy their old fashioned biscuits covered in pan fried sausage gravy. Chicken fried steak is also a fav.

The place is nice and is very clean. There are plenty of tables so there is usually a free spot even when they are crowded. But above all this, the staff is helpful and very friendly. You will also see older patrons going there to eat and chat with their neighbors. I highly recommend you try Bitting's for an olde fashioned experience!

Good food generous portions things are home made the best chip beef over fresh cut potatoes with or without onions and toast you will ever eat.the true meaning of the family country restaurant. I eat there every chance I get both thumbs up.

Best breakfast joint in Perry County. Small town atmosphere, good coffee, great omelets. I totally recommend stopping in for your lottery tickets and some food.

Waitress was awesome and waffle with hot strawberry with whipped topping was the best. Prices are very reasonable. Will definitely go back!!
