Allentown Art Museum

I love coming here! It is completely free (although you can donate!). The first time came, I was blown away by the vast array of items they have. I also enjoy their exhibits that are only temporary and look forward to upcoming ones. Staff are always very nice too!

This hidden gem of a museum offers a variety of stunning visual and multimedia works from regional, American, and global artists. Highlights of their permanent collection include multiple pieces from Tiffany Studios and a library designed by famed architect Frank Lloyd Wright. Free admission and parking make this a convenient visit.

We had a very enjoyable afternoon at this art museum. There's a wide variety of art available to view, lots of staff around to ask questions, and on the weekend they have a room set up with kid activities. When we were there, they were making sunflowers and asking kids to leave one behind to create a community mural.

There was also a PA impressionist gallery on display, which was neat to see. I really have nothing negative to say, especially since admission is free 😍

Go here go here go here! This is one of my all time favorites! They have Renaissance art, they have art deco, they have A Wei Wei, Keith Haring, incredible featured artists. Currently they have an exhibit with clothing from the 60s that is just wonderful! They also have a great kids area with activities.

First time at the museum, very nice experience, people very nice. Definitely going back.

This is an incredible museum… An unexpected surprise… We dropped in for the day… And we really enjoyed the collection and exhibits on display… Museum has a variety of art… Baroque, American, modern… Asian art… Photographic exhibit… Open space… Very competitive art store… Attentive, customer service… Just a gem and A big surprise! We would come here again and again… Looking forward to seeing an exhibit in May (fashion)… Worth a trip from Brooklyn ….for sure!!!

We really enjoyed our recent visit to the museum. It’s not huge but has an interesting variety of works and a very impressive children’s center. As admission is FREE, I would highly recommend visiting with the kids, it’s a great resource! Staff was extremely helpful and friendly too.

Hidden gem in Allentown. Very nice museum you can spend an hour or two. FREE admission. Very cool 60s clothing exhibition going on now. Not busy on a Sunday and open until 5p.

Allentown Art Museum is just excellent. I can't believe they have such a great collection, given the small size of our city. They get some of the best traveling exhibitions, and they also do a great job of showcasing local art from William Allen High School and other artists in the area.

What a great experience being at the museum for their cocktails and collecting event. Everyone was so amazing and supportive!

I love the new layout on the main floor, which draws patrons to flow through the exhibits, and the Rembrandt is featured front and center in its gallery. I'm so glad to see new pieces interspersed with the permanent favorites, and everything is beautifully curated. This is a gem of a museum in our Queen City. I ended my visit in the gift shop, which has lots of great unique items. I bought a Frank Lloyd Wright vase. I renewed my membership despite free admission for all. It's my privilege to support the museum. If you haven't visited in a while, do pay a visit. It's very kid friendly with a kids' art space upstairs (I saw lots of happy kids today)

This is such a great museum and it has free admission! Majority of exhibits available in English and Spanish, lots to see, and a great museum store. Also, not advertised but there are free tours of the museum given by trained docents on Sunday's. Awesome visit and so much to see for a small city like Allentown!

The classic Pennsylvania Impressionists, Baum, Redfield, Garber, Coppedge and also one Robert Henri, one Canaletto, one Grunewald...I couldn't see the Bierstadt :-(

Allentown has a quiet little art section. At least it was quiet when we went on Sunday. Nice museum. Everyone was super nice. Free to get in on Sundays. We saw a Rembrandt which was cool. Free parking. They had a small eating area that served small items but COVID brought that to an end. Worth a stop and see.

I've been going to the miniature painting class (hosted by Gwen Towler) on their third Thursday games/activities night. Not only is it generally a fun atmosphere, but it also brought me to a museum I otherwise would not make time to go and enjoy. Would highly recommend for anyone with a interest in painting 3-D figures but lacking the knowledge of where to start.

Free admission, beautiful area for the most part, inspiring & meaningful exhibits, family friendly, good for the community. It's a well devised & successful formula in terms of Art Museum criteria! WEAR COMFORTABLE SHOES!

Loved the Allentown Art Museum today as I have for over 30 years. It's always clean, well curated and organized, and showcases a really broad selection of art through the ages. The special exhibits are always worth it. I visited the museum many times with my kids when they were young. The museum staff do a great job including families in the joy of appreciating and creating art.

Right now it's free, but I donated. So many people work hard to sustain an ever growing and community centered art museum. We are very lucky to have it.

I enjoyed the Arts Park across the street from the museum, next to The Baum Art School. There, I met up with a powerful DaVinci horse!

Great place to observe art both local and non. Free admission and they have a gift shop. Parking is also free. It’s an awesome experience within Allentown and I definitely recommend for a rainy weekend!
