1889 Coffee House

Cute little Coffee house where the atmosphere is friendly and very patriotic. I got an Apple cinnamon muffin, an almond joy latte, my friend got the sausage egg bites and the Glacier frappe. The food is amazing and the coffee is even better. Great first stop in Helena!!

Best breakfast burrito I think I've ever had. Staff were decent, friendly (and diverse ages - made it feel like a family!).

Our favorite local coffee place! You'll be paying a little more than you might like for decent coffee, but the food is incredible and the staff are a delight. Not to mention the huge dining areas and great ambiance!

We’re in town to hike the great divide in honour of the FSSF with the True Patriot Love Foundation. We looked up veteran owned coffee companies and came across 1889. It did not disappoint. The coffee was excellent, the food was solid, and the people extremely pleasant. The vibe and view upstairs is sublime. Overall an excellent experience and we’ll definitely be back.

The barista did a great job and helped me understand the menu and help me choose the perfect smoothie for me!

The vibes here tho.....so chill yet productive. So casual yet professional. So artsy yet so industrial.

Fantastic coffee place in Helena! Finally found a good one. Went 2 days in a row during the cold mornings at the father day baseball tournament!
They had great SF options!
They even had a handful of ham for our pup as a treat!

I've basically been coming here since they opened, and they were already 5 stars in my book before, and yet today they somehow exceeded my limit for their greatness. I was playing a game of Magic The Gathering with a friend when I noticed a huge wasp had made it home on my deck box, just then the staff member came upstairs with our coffees as I was getting up to nope out of there. She bravely picked it up with a straw and went downstairs with it (I'm assuming to put it outside, as she made the comment that she has experience with beekeeping). Funny and silly, hope to have made someone smile with this, but Brett and all his lovely crew deserve all the praise :) the coffee, location, and atmosphere is spectacular as well.

Great menu, excellent customer service, and an awesome atmosphere. A true gem in the heart of Helena! Try their 1889 spicy chicken bacon sandwich if you're there for lunch. It never disappoints!

I try to come here every day! These guys start my morning every day. I wouldn’t choose any other coffee spot! Their food is actually really good also. Try these guys out if you haven’t!

Brett his crew are amazing. Awesome prices and friendly stafff. Very good breakfast and lunch items. It is a very cozy atmosphere and they are always hopping.

My sister and I stopped in there and had a coffee and I had a scone and she had something else. Very good. The employers were exceptionally nice. They're sandwiches looked very very good. I would highly recommend

Ordered my drink wrong (had cash, preparedto pay), they made it again with no charge. Totally my fault and they still hooked me up, and didn't have to. Super kind and understanding! And they even cut up fresh scotcharoos for us!
They halloween decor is rad, there are plenty of folks working so service is fast- first time in, but I'll definitely be back!

Great place to stop for breakfast. Had a breakfast Burrito super delicious. The beacon gives it that kick and great taste. Coffee is super delicious and have variety of choices. We spend under $20 dollars

I mostly come in for hot tea and to journal. Always friendly, always fast. Clean restrooms.

Had good coffe and a few gluten free options. And look at a great use of space to allow you to relax. Service was good.

Quality breakfast, good coffee. Comfortable seating with panoramic views of beautiful Helena.

Nice ambiance. Good coffee. Good service. One thing that sets this coffee house apart is the upstairs seating area with great views of the surrounding mountains. Comfortable chairs and lounging area, fireplaces, etc.
I also love their chicken rice soup which is available daily.
Update: we've been back several times and really enjoy it. Today we had their breakfast burrito, veggie version with spinach and it was delicious! And FAST service. By the time we paid and got our coffee, the burritos were ready! Highly recommend this coffee shop! (Firetower is still our favorite (they roast their own beans), but 1889 is a very close second!

My favorite coffee shop in town. I appreciate to good and friendly service as well as the coffee, bakery items and food items offered. 😋
