Kelly's Lock Overlook

It is beautiful! Found it cause my son was getting antsy in the car. Because it is cold and not overly large, we didn't stay for too long. I will definitely be making so to return in the winter, spring and summer.

Beautiful family place! Keep eyes on kids, sometimes it carriles a lot of current!

Kelly's Lock was once a pathway for giant barges it stood some 30ft at spots in the 50's a high traffic swimming hole as they dove off the lock into deep water but the lock was removed it's a good white water spot in spring or after storms fast water but shallow in summer only reaching two feet in most places you.can walk across the river just above the two small islands formed by the river, fishing alright but there are far better places close by.

Actually I'm not on the Overlook I am in the water kayaking through Kelly's lock. Funnest part of the river.

I actually found this place by mistake after I first moved out here to Pennsylvania. It was right down the road from my house and a great spot to head to if you’re looking for some peace and quiet. It’s never really crowded either which is a major plus in my book. I take my kids here when it’s warm out and they enjoy it as well.

Beautiful and scenic view of the river.... benches and trails also.

I'm giving it 5 stars because I grew up near here and I see the place differently then others. But there is usually a lot of trash around. This is a good place for a quick stop and the view of the lock is nice.

Even in August, the rapids at the dam were fun to run during the 2021 Schuylkill River Sojourn.

I did a WRER course here. It was a lot of fun and learning the dynamics of self water rescue.

This is such a nice small park where you can enjoy soaking in nature. The view of the Schuylkill River is spectacular.

September 2, 2021. I visited this morning to see the river. The high water was worse 10 years ago because River Road was flooded over at that time.

Water Rescue training here was so much fun, awesome sights and good time.

Beautiful spot... love the Sound of water.

It's a great place to unwind too just take that someone special to just enjoy each other
