Spacious and nice. I had a great time with friends riding our bikes! The pond past the basketball courts looks beautiful. I would say that a chunk of the paths near the playground have a lot of holes and should be patched up for all the people riding bikes, skateboards, etc.. there are also some mounds of dirt that could use some fixing up, but the nature in the park looks nice.

The National POW/MIA Recognition Day ceremony was very moving. Having it at sunset, made it even more touching. Surprised me that the city's Vietnam Veterans Memorial is 34 years old. The Muhlenberg High School AFJROTC were very honorable with their tributes throughout the ceremony.

I had the fortune of living in Reading back in 98-99, as a teenager i'd wake up and walk through the park on my way to high school and then walk through it on my way home. I loved watching and being a part of the scene, playing basketball, flirting with pretty girls, hanging out with my foster brothers just being young and idealistic with little to no care. This park will always hold a special place in my heart.

One of the places the city still takes care off well! However my only concern is all the plant n tree growth around the pond .Somewhat ruins the view otherwise great park

Very nice place to sit and relax or just walk around. Lots of shade trees, green grass. Even though it's in the city. I felt like I was in the country.

It's a nice park. Looks way different than it did in my childhood. Sad and happy that they removed the Castle. Happy that they replaced the old equipment with new stuff!

Centerpiece of Reading, Pa's (pronounced Redding 🧐) vibrant and expansive park system. City Park is a natural hub for all that Reading parks have to offer. From the band shell to the black top basketball courts to its modernized children's park, City Park is a great example of how diverse Reading, Pa is. One of the greatest perks of this city are is its park system, and City Park is a top-notch example.

City Park is a nice place to walk through. If you're into horticulture there is a tropical nursery. There are also maple trees, sycamores maples, and oak trees. They also planted a ring of cherry blossom trees that look amazing in the Spring. Not to mention the purple canna lillies that produce red flowers. There is a fully functional sound stage in the park and occassional concerts. There is a pond stocked with koi and turtles, and home to three families of ducks. If you're looking for a place to shoot hoops. There are about ten courts there. In the summer, the Blacktop league games are in full effect. If you prefer tennis, there are 2 courts. For the 9 and under, there is a playground with rubberized flooring.

Nice area to walk about. Includes playground, basketball courts, rose garden, sculpture, statues, military memorials, pond, and a bandshell for concerts.
