Al'an Ruben's Bar & Grill

Oh my gosh, come hungry! Small place with just enough parking, straight into the bar/waiting area. If you have more than 4, get a reservation. I didn't realize with it being a 'bar & grill's that it was Italian.

The portions are large. We had a type of cheese sandwich app. Holy moly, too good! Melted grilled mozzarella breaded, deep fried, served in a Parmesan cream sauce. Yes, it was rich & filling, but I couldn't not eat it. I had Bolognese - it was hearty, full of flavor, properly cooked thin spaghetti. Hubby had homemade gnocchi with meat sauce. They were light, soft & delicious. The menu was fairly typical Italian, plus the entree of the day. I have a feeling anything we ordered would be delicious, generous & worth it.

We chose 4 layer lemon cake & deep dish apple pie - made in house! Save room! Put this one on your save list.

This resturant is clean,cute and inviting as soon as you walk in the door. My party was sat promptly, we were told they are a FULLY from scratch kitchen and it's not easy to find a kitchen that puts so much passion into their food. Our server and the service she provided was very kind and punctual.

Cherry Pepsi
Pepsi is offered on the menu but our server offered to make cherry. I know it's typically grenadine put into a glass of Pepsi and not a thing to brag about. Usually the grenadine is too heavy in the soda and you taste nothing but syrup.
They seem to make the cherry Pepsi with care. I had 2 cups and each glass tasted the same with a very subtle but perfect hint of cherry taste. Our server refilled our cups with a pitcher. This leads me to belive they actually put care into making that Pepsi batch taste the same each time and wasn't over powered with syrup. They also put a Maraschino cherry in the glass.
This kind of service stands out to me as a guest and as a service industry worker myself. That was a glass of soda they could have carelessly dumped syrup into it but they didn't. They took the extra care to give the experiance more quality and that is truly appreciated! That glass of cherry Pepsi became more then just a glass of cherry Pepsi in my eyes.

it was DELICIOUS! The amount of flavor packed into such a simple dish was mind blowing. The tomatoes were fresh and juicy the Italian bread was nice and toasted with a great garlic flavor. The way the bruschetta was prepared made the bread have a ,juicy fall apart in your mouth taste,although still maintaining a nice crunch. ( forgot to get a picture I was so excited to eat)

I had the Chicken Collini (comes with a side and salad) It is breaded chicken breast sautéed in olive oil. That gave the chicken a light ,crunchy crust. The chicken was very juicy and great quality . It was topped with lump crab meat and artichoke hearts with a lemon pepper cream sauce. The very first bite of the dish made my mouth water , my taste buds were going crazy tasting each ingredient put into that dish. You can taste how much effort is put into the food and quality of meal they want a guest to enjoy.
For my salad I picked the creamy gorgonzola dressing. The salad was fresh and the dressing was very flavorful, the gorgonzola taste was perfect and not overbearing . In my experiance gorgonzola I've had has over powered the taste to anything else accompanying it. They did a great job balancing the amount of gorgonzola to dressing.
My side was an upgrade to Mac and cheese it was by far the best mac and cheese I've had ! Even beating out my grandmother's which I've loved since a young child. It was well sauced and baked with cheese on top. Amazing flavor and perfectly cooked noodles!
*Southern Fried Chicken Sandwich (dipped in Buffalo)
The chicken breast breading was flavorful , the bun was toasted as well. Just a bite into the sandwich and again more mouth watering flavor and crunch! The fries are unique in the aspect of how they're cut , very delicious and crispy!
I was so full I had to get half of my food to take with me. You know you're eating quality food when you're so full you can't finish a plate . I will add I'm writing this review the same day I visited. It is almost 5 hours after eating and I don't have a hint of hunger right now to eat the left overs I want so bad !
My experience at some places have left me with no take home food an unsatisfied stomach and then I need a snack in a few hours!

Today they had strawberry shortcake cheese cake and a 5 layer cinnamon roll cake. I can't resist a cheesecake but I will add I am a very picky cheesecake person. I've had some of the best homemade cheesecake and I swore I'd never find something better . Well needless to say Al an Ruben's made me eat my own words with that statement.
Their cheesecake is absolutely delcatable,delicate, light, airy and flavorful.

We had another great meal at Al'an Ruben's. The waitress was fantastic and everyone who worked there was very friendly. My wife had the seafood lovers dinner, which is scallops, shrimp, and lobster in a homemade sauce. I had the crab cakes with caramelized onions. Sorry for cutting up the first crab cake. We ordered the Ruben Balls, which a ruben sandwich deep fried.

I have lived in western PA for 8 years now. Why have I waited so long to try AL'an Rubens?!

Although the outside of the building is less than appealing, don't let that stop you from going inside. The restaurant is clean and roomy with a fine dining yet casual vibe. Service was top notch, with my waitress welcoming me as a first timer and predicting I would become a regular. She kept my iced tea refilled, which I loved

I ordered a special, shrimp scampi, which came with a very fresh tossed salad and freshly baked bread. All this for $14.99! When you order, your food is prepared fresh, so it might take a little while. But, it's definitely worth the wait.

The shrimp scampi was delicious, with several shrimp in the dish. The sauce was the best I've ever tasted!

This restaurant has a reputation for fantastic desserts also, but I was too full to try them.

By the way, the waitress was right. I will definitely be back to Al'an Rubens!

Any words I can put on paper would never adequately describe my first experience here today. Leesa welcomed us in and we sat at the bar. I ordered the chix parm as I wanted to see if it is truly the best. Well, I am happy to report it is! the chicken was incredibly tender and lightly breaded. The marinara sauce was spot on....I was tempted to take my straw to the sauce left on my plate. The half portion comes with 2 sides and makes a nice meal. My fiance ordered the southern fried chicken sandwich and fries. He said it was outstanding...and he is hard to please! We ordered desserts to go for later today...dole whip cheese cake and 5 layer lemon cream cake. Can't wait to try them. During our meal, Leesa shared the story of the restaurant as well as their cooking philosophy. We will definitely be back....many times, I am sure!!!

We recently moved to the area & have been trying out local restaurants! This was hands down my favorite one. Everyone was so extremely welcoming and kind, I loved that there wasn’t any loud music playing and I could enjoy the delicious food with my family. Our waitress was great! She went above and beyond for it being our first time in. Even my picky 3 year old ate her chicken & fries! ( Chicken was breaded so nicely)!!! We ended dinner with lemon cheesecake and I’m patiently waiting to go back again! Can not recommend enough! So glad we found this little gem

Felt welcomed as soon as we went in , the servers were delightful and great sense of humor. The food was delicious 😋 will be back again. We had the fried cheese stuffed Italian bread fabulous

If you ever wanted your taste buds to twerk then pull up at Rubens. What I experienced that day was heaven mixed with the 1st day of school & Alfredo cheese on top..to many emotions to count... The App was incredible my wife told me I would like it and I loved it we had the Mozzarella in Carozza. If you don't try this get out.. for the main course I had chicken Alfredo & the wife had shrimp Alfredo and chicken marsala. All was delicious seasoned very well and I needed more.. in other words we will be back. Loved the food & staff

The staff is inviting and pleasant. Our party of three all ordered the same entree. The lobster and shrimp was amazing. If I could give it six stars I would. I would definitely recommend this establishment to anybody. The bread pudding was also delightful.

It is worth the wait time. We had a good time just chatting with everyone around us as we waited for our table. This place just has that kind of atmosphere! The owners and the people who work here laugh and let you know what’s going on all the time as you wait for your table. And boy, do they hustle! We had a party of four. One of my friends got the Reuben with the fries, my husband and our other friend got the half plate of the lasagna and I got the Chicken Collini. Everyone said their food was good. I have to give a RAVE REVIEW for the Chicken Collini it was so delicious!!! The Chicken was cooked to perfection and the sauce was lite, creamy and lemony. My husband and friend also ordered the apple pie. It has too much cinnamon in it for us but my husband still found it to be delicious. The whole bill came in under $100 which included drinks and dessert for the four of us. Definitely a place worth visiting. We will return again.

Fantastic tasting food, really friendly staff that took time with us and didn't feel rushed. The place was really busy but you could see every table was still getting a fair amount of attention. Would defiantly return. A kitchen of passion!

The outside of the building makes it not look like much, but the interior is actually quite nice and very clean. I got full orders of both the alfredo (with added chicken) and the spaghetti (with added meatballs). The alfredo was very creamy and had good flavor. The spaghetti sauce had depth. It was also thick and stuck to the noodles instead of just running off, so you got flavor in every bite and not just watery, tomato-y juice. I have no complaints about the meatballs, either.

If I had to find one fault, I would have to say that the server seemed a tad rude. However, the other members of my party didn't notice anything, so perhaps it's just my own judgement failing me. Either way, gotta recommend this place!

Tahairah was absolutely lovely! She provided outstanding service. The atmosphere is so comforting and homey. The food is all made from scratch and you can taste the love put into it. Truly an amazing experience all around. The Rueben bites tasted like heaven. All together I cannot say enough good things!

For my birthday my family ordered a Confetti Cheesecake from here and it was absolutely amazing!! Was so delicious and one of the best desserts I have ever had

YOU MUST GO HERE IMMEDIATELY! I can't say enough great things about this place! From the moment Lisa met our very large party she was a gracious host! Our server Timmie was so sweet and attentive and the food...OMG was worth the 45 minutes I drove! We started off with a few appetizers and the Bruschetta was the best I've ever had! The bread was crispy yet soft, and the tomatoes were warm with seasonings that made my mouth dance! Since we had a large party I had the chance to taste a bit of everything! The baked scrod melted in your mouth and the scampi sauce was perfect! The shrimp and Lobster spaghetti was so zesty and flavorful. I had a carbanaro dish with a creamy parmesan sauce, bacon, shallots, and chicken that made my eyes close with each bite! Lisa made us a special drink request she never made before and it was amazing, and they even cut my sisters birthday cake after joining us in singing happy birthday! I could go on forever about why I loved my experience here but you should go and check it out for yourself!

The food is fantastic and creative, the staff are all friendly and engaging, and did I mention how fabulous the food is?
The chef is top notch and he prepares some of the best food in Washington county PA!

When you first pull into the parking lot, place looks like a dive, but they recently had a fire on the inside. Looks are deceiving, but....you have to go! Inside is simply amazing, the whole inside has been refurbished. So quaint, waitresses are so friendly and personable. The food, I highly recommend it. We had the scallops with the white wine an garlic sauce, homemade bread, spring mix salad. I'll make sure we hit this place again, it is simply exquisite and a gemstone.

Heavenly food with amazing staff! Everyone was so friendly, welcoming, and attentive! Penne Alfredo with sauteed shrimp was out of this WORLD!!! even the simple house salad was amazing. If I could give this place 10 stars, I would.

The food is incredible! Services is usually great, and we will definitely be back! One trick, order pick up. The food was great even once we got it home. It would be easy to drive right past this place, but once you go in, you will keep coming back.

Was invited out for an evening of enjoyable eating and to No surprise this establishment knocked it out of the park. The staff was extremely hospitable and went out of their way to accommodate. It felt warm and homey as the atmosphere was filled with outburst of laughter due to the staffs interactions with the guest!!!. The food came quickly 😋 and truly we were delighted. A cold winter night with snow too but it didn't matter because the food did it for us.
