GAP trailhead at Deal

Clean restroom and there was a tire repair station. We also could have a short rest comfortably because there was plenty of space for us to have a sit down with our bikes nearby.

We biked on the Great Allegheny Passage bike trail from Deal PA to Cash Valley Road MD. Awesome ride all down hill. Easiest 20 miles I've ever biked

Very nice parking area for the Great Allegheny Passage bike trail. There is plenty of parking, bathrooms, a pavillion and a bike work station.

Big parking area to start your trip or a great place to take a break along the trail. Clean bathroom, picnic table under building to get out of rain or sun, bike pump and repair area.

I wish I could give this six stars. Huge parking lot can hold plenty of cars, permanent outhouse of sorts right next to the parking lot, a bike rack to lock up bikes, and a few benches and even a picnic table. All this and more just about 2 miles from the Big Savage tunnel.

The Deal, PA Trailhead on the GAP a gateway to several exciting rides and hikes.

Leaving the parking lot, turn left, east, and you're headed to the Eastern Continental Divide less than a mile away. There, you can stand with one foot in the Mississippi Watershed and one in the Potomac Watershed.

Keep going and the Big Savage Tunnel is another 1.5 miles. Just beyond the tunnel is a a spectacular view of mountains marching across Pennsylvania and Maryland. On a perfectly clear day you can also see West Virginia and Virginia.

To the right leaving the parking lot Meyersdale is 7 miles and on the way you cross the Keystone Viaduct over a road and the CSX Railroad. Next is the Bollman Bridge a historic bridge that once carried the B&O Railroad. Finally you are in Meyersdale, PA with a restored Western Maryland Railway with displays and a Visitors Center.

This GAP Trail Access has a SST, bike repair stand, and picnic pavilion.

Nice trailhead with restrooms. Close to the big tunnel and mason dixon line.

Easy place to get to, to add 24 miles to your C&O ride or a nice downhill ride period. There is ample parking and a toilet.

There's a restroom at the Deal trail head, also benches and a pavilion. The parking lot and the trail were recently surfaced with fine materials. The Deal trailhead is the closest parking area, with amenities, to the Big Savage Tunnel. It is also the first with restrooms going East from Meyersdale, Pa.

CAN NOT go wrong with a Rail Trail. Get to this trial head, facing the trail hang a left and go towards the Eastern continental divide, Big savage tunnel, big savage Vista and the Mason Dixon line. This trail head has bathroom facilities.

Parking, restrooms, a covered picnic table. Yep. All good.

Deal, PA or Frostburg, MD are probably the best access points from Garrett County, Maryland. We drove to the GAP - Great Allegheny Passage trailhead at Deal, PA from the Double GG RV Park in McHenry, Maryland. This trail is beautiful and is great for walking, running, or bicycling. It is usually closed to the east of Deal during the winter months because the Big Savage Tunnel doors are closed and locked. We found the trail very clean, well cared for, and the bathrooms with vault toilets at Deal open.

There is a bathroom, and access, and a bike maintenance post. This IS a bike, walking, running trail. Very nice for what it is intended for.

Nice trailhead. Had kids selling lemonade.

Great spot to jump onto the GAP trail.
