At Mile 30 on the Great Allegheny Passage is the Keystone Viaduct. It was built in 1911-1912 for the Western Maryland Railway. The railroad was abandoned in the mid-1970's but this, and other structures, remained. In the early 2000's the viaduct was refurbished to be part of the GAP. In 2016 the truss bridge portion that crosses over the main line of the CSX Railroad was raised to accommodate taller double-stack container rail cars.

The GAP is a biking/hiking trail. To reach the Keystone Viaduct, begin at the Meyersdale, PA Trail Access. The Access is a restored WMdRwy Station operated by the Meyersdale Historical Society. From the station, go East. The viaduct is just over 3 miles. On the way you will also cross the historic Bollman Bridge.

This is a beautiful site to visit whether walking or biking the GAP trail. It spans a creek and multi lane highway following the original railroad line. Awesome views of the surrounding valley.
