The Union Grill

this evening was our first time was here, and everything was fantastic! we got regular fountain drinks as we’re not drinkers, and then the bread came out and it was oh so good! we got the fried provolone to start out with and it was delicious! i ordered the Lobster Ravioli, as i’ve heard this restaurant is known for the Italian food, and man, it was amazing! i wanted seconds! the salad that came with it was also super fresh! the atmosphere and vibe is welcoming and cozy as well! we definitely will be back!

The drinks were perfectly mixed. The staff was super friendly , and the food was phenomenal. The only bar I've ever been to with a true chef. I honestly can't recommend this place enough.

Service was great; prompt and friendly, wish I had caught her name to give a shout out. Last Tuesday about 6pm, first booth on the right. Nice local place with a warm and friendly atmosphere and more refined than other local places I have been. Calamari was perfect, lightly fried and not crispy! BBQ Chicken pizza was tasty and cheesy.

My children, grandchildren & nephews, nieces all came to Union Grill to celebrate my 75th birthday!! It was amazing! The staff, the delicious food was excellent!! Perfect customer service.. It was a very enjoyable time. Thank you for giving us excellent service..

This is a great downtown dining experience. Parking can be an issue since mostly street side parking, have some quarters for the meter. Friendly staff with great selections of cosine. The old bar atmosphere is a look back at yesteryear. One of a kind and worth the time to get off the beaten path.

First time here, I was in town so I looked up local restaurants and this place popped up as a local landmark. I figured we would try it because the reviews were good and menu looked great! It was on a Friday night at 5:00 place was so packed but wait was only about 15 minutes. The food was so good I had the Eggplant Parmesan which was really supposed to be an appetizer but I had it as meal because I was already filled up on the best zucchini I ever had and bread! My husband had the special which was Airline chicken also excellent! Service was outstanding never had to wait on anything waitress was on the ball the whole time even as busy as she was! Prices were reasonable atmosphere was fun! Will be back!!!

Took the few steps to lower level of the building to open the door into a space that feels like you want to be there! With the charming brick walls, the beautiful wood accents on the bar and booths, and the separate cozy dining room, we were excited about our find into the old Washington! The beautiful stained glass martini window previews the amazing martini and drink menu, many made from fresh squeezed juices like the lemon drop! The food was excellent and the menu choices were sure to meet any culinary taste! I had the cod special and it looked more like sea bass when served and the chefs choice of flavors blended to perfection! The wait staff was typical of the Pittsburgh area and we enjoyed the friendly "feel like home" town folks!

Not much to look at from the street, just an awning, a few steps heading down to the door. Walking in was very surprising. Much larger inside than you would think, neat looking bar. Food was good, fried zucchini was very good and I don't normally enjoy zucchini. Large menu, will definitely be back to try other options. I had the cheese steak sandwich. Not bad.

First of all, it's a cool location and the inside is cozy and kinda reminds me of Cheers. The food is absolutely amazing. Seriously. We ate at the bar and not only was our food delicious, the food people had to our left and right looked delicious as well. The wedding soup is hands down, the best I've ever had.

My husband and I both got lunch specials and they were phenomenal. The pizza my daughter ordered was also really good, 5 year old approved! Service was fantastic, our waitress was incredibly kind and fast.

We decided on a whim to try this place Saturday night - and it was fantastic! It's not always easy for us to get a table on a Sat eve for 7 people, but we walked in and they were able to seat us in a back room, which felt like we were in a private VIP room. Our waitress Jamie was absolutely amazing the entire time we were there - polite, friendly, funny, great recommendations, very prompt - perfect! The food came and everything was excellent. From the house dressing to the bread to the pasta, veal, seafood, wings, and sandwiches that we all had - everyone loved it. The place also had a nice atmosphere and great vibe in general. We'll be coming back!

Not being from the area, my son and I went here based on a "restaurants near me" search. Ended up enjoying one of the best meals we've ever had. Will definitely look for an opportunity to visit again.

Union Grill is a go-to for great food, consistently. This restaurant takes great pride in its quality and we've never had less than a stellar meal.
When we want something good, we go here.

Our family held both a wedding ceremony and dinner here last Saturday, everything was absolutely perfect! Beautiful venue, delicious food, excellent service! Our daughter’s special day was made even more memorable by the care and willingness of mgr Rodney to accommodate our every request, of Chef Jim to customize our menu and provide suggestions for delicious apps/dinner, and of bartender/all-around person in charge Michele for her attention to detail to keep everything running smoothly and also for keeping the cocktails flowing! Thank you to the entire staff for your help in making the day so wonderful!

Quick professional service and delicious food. The atmosphere is really cool and relaxing, with an old school kind of bar and the whole place being underground right off the sidewalk. The beer was good too. Good portions for the prices which are mid range but nothing unreasonable in exchange for the deliciousness. The linguine was $16 and veal picatta was $23. My friends and I love this place for lunch or a special occasion.

Excellent! The Union Grill was highly recommended by members of the Pittsburgh Foodies group on Facebook, and it did not disappoint! The zucchini was the best we've ever had! It was served with marinara sauce, and a horseradish sauce that was an unexpected, but delicious addition. The wings were crispy and perfect! The place was packed, but the wait was minimal, and the service was great. We would definitely visit again!

Absolutely love Union Grill in Washington, Pennsylvania! It's become our go-to restaurant whenever we visit family. The welcoming atmosphere, top-notch service, and consistently delicious meals make it a five-star dining experience every time. Can't recommend it enough!
