Very nice ski area with Bald mountain mainly for intermediate or advanced. Great vertical drop (more than 3000ft), runs perfectly groomed, but also a lot of possibility for powder. Very good lifts, with some really safe, new, and advanced, with automatic footrest, triangular ski support (good also for snowboard, but safe for ski), and safety bar: that means they pursue safety (I uploaded a pic of this lift, I hope it will become the "standard")! The "plaza" at the top of the mountain is great, with a wonderful relaxing view 360 degrees. Also in this case, safe because there is a lot of space for people arriving and organizing skiboots or jackets before the downhills (a lot of options with long runs). Beginners have a good place in Dollar Mountain, 2 miles away. Also, Dollar Mountain, despite it limited vertical drop, offers many powder options for safe, but fun, downhills for intermediate skiers.

As of now, only a handful of slopes are open, but the mountain is nice and not very crowded. The personnel is very friendly here. There is also a nice walking trail around.

As close to a fairytale as you'll ever get this side of the 4th wall... with dozens of ski volunteers flowing down a mountain to simulate lava 🤯

New standard set for the "Cherry on Top" 💝

We were able to experience the charming excitement of securing a table in the Duchin Lounge during prime time 🍻

The service was exceptional despite our having multiple party members join the table at various times 😎

Next time I look forward to securing on of those comfy couches by the fireplace 🔥

Thank you for true teamwork & a seamless experience 🙏

Best snow in Idaho! They have lots of trails and lifts for beginners and experienced skiers. The lodges are warm and have good food. The people and staff here are friendly and nice.

Fun & cool stop on summer travels. Beautiful scenery, nice hotel & shops. Took gondola to restaurant, more great views & food, then ski lift to top & more grand views. Mountain bikers enjoying the challenging trails. Fun day, did not disappoint!

The days that it has great new snow are limited but the grooming and snow making is what makes it always returnable. The mountain has space for a lot of people to ski comfortably. Lines are seldom long except on holiday weekends. Small problem with self important persons. Mostly it is a great place to make 3000 vertical foot runs that are predictable and quick. I hope the grooming crew is the best paid in the industry because they keep the place going

Staying in Wild Flower and the views are amazing! Living room and kitchen are really spacious. Primary bath has heated floors. Short walk to shops and the lodge with heated pool and hot tub

Sun Valley is a charming town nestled among the Sawtooth Mountains of South Central Idaho and is a world renowned destination ski resort!

In 1936 the Union Pacific Railroad created the 1st automated ski-lift in the world at a European styled ski resort they created to at the time increase train ridership.

Surprisingly the lodge has an outdoor skating rink outside the back doors!!

Some of the walls in the interior of the Sun Valley Lodge have photos of famous celebrities, dignitaries and Olympians that have visited over the years. I believe there were a couple of Ernest Hemingway. Ernest finished one of his books there, "For Whom the Bell Tolls" and later bought a house there where he lived the rest of his life.

We got a special tour by a local whose family owned most of this property many years ago. She drove us all around and showed us inside and out everything and we even got to witness a celebrity wedding. The launch had really nice big fancy open area. All service people were excellent and they even let us park right in the front of the lodge so that we could take a quick tour inside. everything was first class and the pictures on the wall showed that many celebrities dating way back to Marilyn Monroe and John Wayne have spent time here. Before we took the tour we drove by babe Paley Idaho residence of Bruce Willis and was told that when he goes to restaurants he wears sunglasses and pulls his hat down low so that they won't be recognized yet when Arnold Schwarzenegger visits he freely asks if there's anyone that wants their picture taken with him. Obviously a very classy place and the rates were lower than usual because it was mid-may before the Tourist season.

Thanks to the Epic Pass, we were able to turn a work trip to Boise into a ski trip to Sun Valley. We spent two days at Bald Mountain. We were there second week of January on Weds and Thurs. No crowds, and despite not having had tons of snow, the mountain was in great shape. The runs were firm, but not icy, and the grooming was on point. The lodges here are as nice as you'll find anywhere. The bathrooms in Seattle Ridge and River Run are nicer than most 5 star hotels! Food options were varied and while no real deals, you got a lot and quality was great. I particularly loved the Philipino chicken soup I had one day! Roundhouse lodge was also super cool, just a really unique old school vibe. Perfect spot to stop for a drink or meal. Staff were great, and we also enjoyed the free tour with some Park service rangers. Sun Valley should be on everyone's bucket list for ski destinations. Loved it.

One of my favorite places to ski. One of the least crowded most underrated ski areas I've ever been to.

Awesome ski resort, but if you’re a first timer stick to dollar mountain and get some good lessons. This is the big leagues, and you don’t want to end up at the top of the mountain with no easy way to get down. In March, the weather was impeccable, and it’s some of the best skiing I’ve ever had. Lodge had great food and atmosphere as well.
