I have been a patient of this practice for over 8 years. I have extremely complicated medical issues. Dr Berkey has always been thorough as well as kind and very compassionate. He worked very hard to get to the root of my problem rather than order tons of unnecessary tests or additional medications. He has worked very hard to get me well. It is very rare to be able to find a specialist nowadays who will actually take the time to not only read your chart and test results but to also listen to you as well! The office staff is pretty remarkable too!

The providers at this office are excellent. They were able to diagnose my dad and get him treated promptly when presented with GBS symptoms. If they had not, he would not be walking today. They also treated my mom in the hospital and made sure that she had the proper testing and plan of care when they thought she had a stroke.

I need Botox shots in my neck and trap muscles to maintain a sense of balance as in not fall over.

Dr. Cotugno is clearly an expert at this. Knowing where and how much to inject is key to the Botox having an overall uniform effect.

He listens to questions and answers in language the average person can understand.

I've been going to that office for 6 years. The staff are always polite, helpful, and efficient. I have no idea what the people in the other reviews are referring to. I can only surmise they are blaming the staff for something they themselves did or did not do, creating an adversarial situation.

They have a very tight payment policy, that I will admit. However, you should be paying your bills on time. I've received the nasty letter myself. But it was my fault, not theirs.

I find it interesting that most of the reviews are of the staff in the front office and not about the doctors. What is learned from such a review about the doctor?

Nothing.

I didn't have to wait very long in the waiting room or my personal room. The staff was VERY kind and accommodating. And the Dr himself, Dr. Cotugno, was EXTREMELY nice and helpful and went out of his way to make sure I had the meds i need in order to relieve my migraines. He even gave me my Emgality migraine shots himself, from samples he had, so I didn't have to wait for any prior authorizations to go through, so that I had some instant relief.

I was VERY impressed with the entire office visit and I will DEFINITELY be going there for all of my migraine meds and problems in the future!!!

Let me set the scene. I just moved to Pennsylvania, and was working in Bethel Park in 2017 under a tyrant of a boss. I scheduled my initial visit with this group, but thanks to my working conditions at that time, it make it impossible for me to leave for an appointment. So I missed my initial appointment.
Fast forward to 2024. My right hand goes numb for hours at a time, so bad that I lose motor function, let alone feeling. My Orthopedic group on 3/18 faxes my info over to schedule me for a much needed test-EMG. Today, 3/25, I finally call my Orthopedic group to see when my test is, or why it's been a week and no response about the date of my EMG? They told me that "Adult Neurology is refusing to treat me because I missed my initial patient appointment."
Yes, the appointment from, you guessed it, 2017.

So, people reading this review? Change your policy. Life happens and people aren't perfect. I hope none of you ever have to put up with what I have to deal with daily.

Less than one star on this business. Patients do not matter. They would only let me see a PA I came in with terrible migraines, balance issues, and other symptoms which matched those of MS. She treated me for migraines and told me that I had anxiety and told me to see a psychiatrist. A year later and hospital stay later. I am diagnosed with guess what. I told the office I wanted to see a doctor going forward and the office manager told me to see another neurologist. Bye Felicia!!!!!

Office staff is absolutely terrible. Very rude. The one receptionist hung up on me. I was a receptionist, you just don't do that. It's unprofessional and you make the business look bad. They also have some ridiculous office rules that make zero sense. For example, If you show up the day of your appointment and you forgot to pay a bill, you will get turned away and told to go home! They won't even let you pay it in full the day of your appointment. I wouldn't trust them to take care of myself or any family member, look elsewhere.

Dr. Cogtugno. Is a joke did same thing to me dope him up be rude, acts like cause he's the Dr. He's inferior to you and your just a lil peeon idiot. I found another Dr. Dr. Hospador but don't use him either he is just as bad or worse. He hasn't made any follow up apts in 2 years but yet still think he can make decisions on my medical status and paperwork.

This office is not concerned about the health of their patients. First, regardless of the situation, they are quick to put you on drugs, which can be mind-altering, impact your health and can be difficult to get off of, instead of truly helping you get better. (Not every person/every case needs to be medicated.) Secondly, PLEASE don't miss a follow up appointment you scheduled 6 months in advance due to having a life! They won't call to remind you as a favor. And then when you miss the appointment, although you moved and changed address' in that time frame, and forgot, because, hey, life does go on..., they will send multiple letters, some even certified, and then send you to collections for a $30 missed appointment fee.... I understand that was time that someone else could have been seen, but I also know how busy doctors are every day, and that time could have been used elsewhere also, say to move on to the next patient in line who has been waiting longer than expected... Also, the time, effort and postage that was used to collect this $30 (which has now been paid since the new tenant at our old place contacted us and told us about the mail) probably cost these guys $30!! But to top it off, my doctor also sent a letter stating he was dropping me because of that silly little $30. I'm utterly heart broken. (I could totally understand if I had a looong overdue bill of $100 even, but $30 from a missed appt. from a month ago....???) I don't know how I will live life without his services... I've been seizure free for well over a year (after only having had 1 seizure ever in my life right after having a baby-can we say hormones, lack of sleep...my tests were clear, there was no "known" reason for my seizure or any reason to think it could happen again, but, let's dope her with medicine while she's in the hospital, tired and scared!) And I weaned myself off of that terrible medicine over a year ago. So, I'm not sure what I'll do without him. I also found the letter pretty funny because he states he is concerned about my health, yet again over $30 he has dropped me, and this means, even if I do have another seizure and get sent to the hospital and he happens to be on service, he won't come see me...but he's concerned! Oh well, no loss to me because I dropped that relationship a while ago. He never planned on letting me off the medication... But I find this pettiness a little silly and think there should be more effort to actually care about the patient. It's not about money. Especially $30...
