We placed on online order for pickup (Aug 20th, 2021). We had the "Train Wreck" (croissant with bacon, eggs, and cheese) and "Turkey Nirvana" (turkey sandwich with bacon, avocado - pictured). Both are delicious and highly recommended. Plus, bonus points for the staff, who were super friendly when we got to the store for pickup. Also, the interior and exterior of the cafe are perfect for Instagram (photo of train is taken from the cafe).

Consistency is 🔑 in the food and beverage industry and THIS PLACE HAS IT! We have made a visit here AT LEAST ONCE most weekends for the last few year! Me and my family love it! We have tried many dishes and everything has always been very delicious and fresh. Amy does a great job at locally sourcing ingredients! The PADDLE WHEElS (cinnamon bun) are so incredibly good that I almost don't want to let you in on them for fear they will be sold out earlier each morning! The coffee has always been a favorite of ours and we have purchased pounds of it to make at home, but some how it never tastes as good as when we get it hot out of the pot from the Cafe itself... which probably has something to do with the special attention they give to each item made, the cute and friendly cafe ambiance, as well as the ability to relax on their front porch in the 🌞 while indulging! For breakfast my daughter loves the Knuckle Sandwich w/bacon, the hubby devours the Train Wreck on their warm and flakey croissant, and I my favorite is the Honest Abe w/ Bacon! For lunch the kid sticks with a Bindle Stiff and a Berry Smoothie w/ Whipped Cream... us big kids alternate between the Dolly Flopper (loaded chicken salad) and the Turkey Nirvana! I'm salivating just thinking about the food! GO THERE! Say hi to the owner Amy and her wonderful staff! Enjoy!

Note: In the warmer months we love to have our meal here and then hit the NCR trail with our pup!

This is a great place to dine. Located inside the former New Freedom station and on the Rail Trail it's very convenient location. The interior architecture is amazing as the station was restored to its 1940's appearance. You can dine inside ir outside, which overlooks the Rail Trail. I asked for the Hobo with turkey and without the tomato. It was superb. The seasoned popcorn was fanastic as well.

We had a lovely light meal at the New Freedom Rail Trail Cafe after our train ride. The staff is really nice, and we had a visit to the small museum next door while they made our sandwiches. They have done a lovely job with a small kitchen, and decorating the dining area. Please stop by and have a good meal when you are in the area!

Such a neat place to stop along the trail and grab something to eat. Their wraps are delicious and loved the panini press use on the wraps giving it a tasty touch. Staff is friendly. Seating outside or inside the cozy cafe.

Quaint country cafe on the nostalgia New Freedom Rail Trail. Nice place to stop for a quick bite if you are out walking or you can drive to it and eat.

Great place for hungry cyclists to stop for a bite. Hot coffee and great breakfast sandwiches. Friendly staff. Avoid the tables out front in the morning; you’ll bake in the direct sunlight.

Delicious food! I love their wraps and smoothies. They carry locally roasted coffee- make sure to grab a cup and other in-season specialties from the area.

First time on the NCR Trail. The Italian Ice from Gill-Ice was excellent. Ask for Myra and hear her and Gill's story.

We went on a Sunday morning, not real crowded. Nice atmosphere, choose a table by the window for my BF and I. You order at the counter. Nice variety of breakfast items and tasty. Giant sized cup of coffee - for us coffee lovers. Prices were on the high side of average. We met the owner, she was delightful as was the staff. We chatted a little about the history of the building and area. We would definitely return to sample the lunch menu as it appeared interesting. The restaurant has only breakfast and lunch and is closed 2 days, so check to see if they are open before you head out. Enjoy!

Baked goods were absolutely great! The coffee was pretty good too and the staff was very friendly even with the pressure of the current times and the amount of people that were coming in and out of the cafe. I'm actually looking forward to the next time I'm out that way so that we can try the prepared sandwiches and breakfast burritos. Keep it up guys!

My son and I went to the cafe this morning and although I know how great everything is, my son did not. He thought the paddle wheel was just another cinnamon roll, he took a bite of mine. "Umm, bring that back," he said, "I think I'll keep that."
He even said the iced tea was the best. He had his first experience at Rail Trail Cafe and he wants to go back tomorrow.

Great cafe in the middle of town. The Knuckle Sandwich was perfect. The egg was not overcooked so it worked great with the sausage. My wife had the Shrimp Salad Sliders. Great seasoning on them. The inside of the cafe has local items to purchase also. The staff was friendly and easy to talk to.

Lots of people like to stop here after finishing up on the rail trail. Great service, and even better food! The young gentleman that served us was very nice and cordial. I added a side of potatoes and they were seasoned and cooked perfectly - highly recommend.

This little cafe is a local treasure. Everything is fresh and made in the cafe. I really love the wraps, with the veggie one with the weird name my recent favorite (phatty dank). Amy makes it with an apple slaw that is unique and a great combination with the hummus. It is a great “something different” to try. The staff is great!
