Red Stone Glen Fiber Arts Center

Oh my gosh, this place is amazing! I stopped by for the retail part of the organization, and the owner was so incredibly helpful in helping me understand the yarn weights in regards to my new rigid heddle loom. They have a really large selection of gorgeous yarn on cones, all different weights, and also a bunch of great books, new and used. I'd love to go back for a class. Such a beautiful and relaxed setting in the country.

I have had the opportunity to take two classes at Red Stone Glen Fiber Arts Center, one with Tom and another with Sara...both were fabulous. I highly recommend you give yourself a treat, take the time to take a class at this wonderful fiber/weaving learning center. You will not be sorry. Time marches on...update- I have now taken 8 classes at Red Stone Glen, each and everyone has been fantastic! Beautiful fiber retreat offering a variety of classes and workshops taught by world class weavers and spinners, a welcoming atmosphere and a bucolic outdoor setting to inspire creativity in all your fiber endeavors. Great to buy your yarns and tools as well!

I am a “frequent flyer” at RSG! I learned to spin and weave when Tom and Sara were at The Mannings. Tom’s instruction is patient, kind, encouraging, and so knowledgeable while being fun! Sara’s teaching is spot on and her color sense is phenomenal. This is a historical old house with room for a store as well as classes and it is wonderfully stocked with all textures, materials, and colors of the rainbow. For spinning, weaving, and other fiber classes and supplies, THIS is the place to be!

I just took a class there for intermediate spinning. It was a wondaful class taught by a talented and educated teacher. We went over fiber prep, drafting, long draw, different types of plying and dipped our toes into cotton spinning. I'm really glad I went. The classroom space was really neat! Not only do you learn there, but you can also house there as well. If I ever get a chance to take another class, I'm going to take advantage of the housing. :)

Red Stone Glen is an awesome place for all your fiber needs! Great supply's for spinning, weaving, knitting, dying just to name a few! Tom Knisely, and Sarah Bixlers are an amazing father daughter duo that have a wealth of knowledge. They teach a vast array of classes! I love visiting the studio when we are in PA!!

A wonderful place all around! Welcoming and fantastic staff, Annie is amazing! Knowledgeable and patient instructors, Sara & Tom are 2 of the best! A beautiful environment to be in, the property is lovely! I cannot wait to return.

The best weaving and fiber arts instruction available anywhere. Tom Knisely is one of the top instructors in the nation. Beautiful, tranquil setting in rural PA, with nearby lodging for multi-day classes. A beautiful range of fibers for weaving. Wonderful, welcoming people -- a real joy!

Friendly, fabulously knowledgeable and fun. I dropped by to buy some rug warp, tencel and Schacht loom parts. I got to see a weaving class in progress. I also booked my space in their student housing for a "Warping and Weaving" workshop I'm taking in April. It was a productive stop. I love this place! Their fiber classes are top notch.

I only stopped in for a short bit, but what I was there for was great. I bought some items for my tape loom and got a tour of the place. Very welcoming. Would love to take a class there.

For a spinner or weaver this is a little bit of heaven. The teachers and classes are wonderful and the setting is beautiful and peaceful. There is also a nice array of equipment and supplies available for purchase. And books, lots of books and videos.

If you want to learn anything about weaving, this is the place to go for classes. Sara Bixler, Tom Knisely and the rest of the RSG crew not only teach great classes, but make you feel at home. By the time you leave, you feel like you're part of a family. You leave with a wealth of knowledge.

Sara is not afraid to tell you "You don't need that!" for fear of losing a sale. She prefers you get things you need in your project or situation.

Tom is a world renowned teacher and is funny, courteous and smart! You will pick up little tricks from him that have light bulbs popping in your head like the 4th of July parades.

I attended the open house. It's a beautiful environment for learning a variety of fiber art techniques. They have a very impressive roster of internationally renowned teachers and a variety of interesting classes.

This is a great place to learn weaving techniques, and improve on techniques you already know! Everyone there is super nice and theyre patient with everyone.

A beautiful and inspiring place to learn your next fiber skill. Housing is very comfortable. I will be going back again.
