I highly recommend Heston. When my pets need vet care, I have total confidence in Dr. Ludwig and his staff. I recently needed quick refills on meds and Doc was so accommodating on getting them filled for me. He has a vast knowledge of domestic animals and will go out of his way for their care and comfort. He personally cares for them as if they were his own pets. Whether it’s a sick visit or well care, the staff at this office treats you kindly and with concern. We travel an hour 1 way to this office and it is a well worth the trip. Best veterinary services we’ve had!

Dr. Ludwig is an amazing vet and you can truly tell he cares about his patients and loves what he does. Him and the staff are always giving my dogs love when they come in and trying to make it as stress free as possible which is great because my Bella is an anxious girl. When my dog Cookie was sick and we found out it was cancer, dr. Ludwig did everything he could to make her feel better and never stopped trying until her and I were ready to let go. As the only vet and owner of the practice, he is doing an amazing job and I highly recommend Heston to anyone!

We were told my dog had stage two kidney failure and wouldn’t live a year. Went here for a second opinion because they were recommended by a friend. At the appointment they went over everything and explained the other doctors notes. I stayed several hours because the notes and bloodwork did not add up to the current diagnosis from the other vet. We redid all bloodwork all samples, and it turns out That the other vet misdiagnosed my dog and she is not in kidney failure. The doctor took a lot of time To explain everything make sure I understood what was going on and the treatment plan. The office staff was very nice and helpful. I have never had a vet go above and beyond like he did. I am so appreciative and can not say enough about this place. It’s an hour away from my home and I will continue to go here. Amazing

Dr. Ludwig is fantastic, about a year ago my pup wasn’t himself at all and had me at a complete panic. I did not know Dr. Ludwig but a family member did, so she gave him a call and he rushed my boy in, and he wasn’t even his patient at the time! He stayed after hours to do emergency surgery for my boy. And at a price that did not completely break me, he gave his number for after hours questions, and anything else we might of needed, if it wasn’t for him my boy wouldn’t of made it through the night. But he is still happy and thriving! And he is still a patient and always will be a patient of Dr. Ludwig’s, because he genuinely cares about the dogs over anything. The staff is all fantastic and caring. We love it here. ❤

My wife and I have 2 dogs and a cat. We both have grown up with dogs our whole life. So vet visits are nothing new to us. It has always been important that a Vet / staff not only treat the animals but care for the animals as well. Dr. Ludwig is a vet who cares about your animals health, not just treating patients to turn a profit. Our golden doodle has been to vets back and forth for a leg issue that has turned into a near 2 year process. Double-ACL tear (dr.ludwig recommended a great vet in Maryland who confirmed the ACL tear and preformed the surgery) then later a muscle tear on the same leg. With near 70% muscle loss Dr. Ludwig + the staff has gone out of their way to make sure that our doodle has had a path toward normal.

While I believe Heston is a great place they are a small growing office so there has been some growing pains even on our end but if you can stick through that as they grow, learn and get better then you'll find a vet and staff that truly cares about the animals.

And not to forget the vet techs and staff who greet Magnolia like she's family everytime she walks in the door. And a special shout out to Caroline (the surgical tech) who has taken amazing care of Magnolia the many times she's graced their halls!

Dr Ludwig and his staff are the most amazing people I have ever met. I had no confidence in vets after a misdiagnosis from another vet killed a dog that I had for 14 years. My Mojo was in a bad way and Dr Ludwig helped bring him back. I was working with limited finances and even knowing this he still continued to help with him. On Saturday June 18,2022 Mojo finally succumbed to his illnesses and I had to make the decision to ease his suffering. Even though he's gone Dr Ludwig is still there for me. You will not find a better vet and vet office then this one. Thank you again for all you did. It means so much to me and I will never forget it. You are the cream of the crop and because of you my faith in vets has been restored. Here's a pic of the big guy for you to enjoy and remember him. Thank you so much again.

Dr Ludwig and his staff are great! They are very kind and helpful. Dr Ludwig is clearly passionate about taking care of our furbabies.

We have a dog with bad anxiety and another vet would not see her. This vet is very understanding and even told us how to help with her anxiety & they are extremely friendly.

Update: Took my dogs puppies today and they were great as always. The staff here are always friendly and helpful.

I am totally blown away from today's experience. From my first phone call to walking out the door it was everything I could ask for. I loved the vet, who explained in detail what was going on. His assistant was wonderful. The front staff couldn't been better.better

This office is amazing. We came from VCA Old Trail because they would charge astronomical prices, sometimes for services we didn’t even request/need and tell us too bad when we said we didn’t even ask for that service, and the staff at the front desk was very rude to other customers in front of us on multiple occasions. They also would rush us out because we always tried to get an appointment later in the day because my boyfriend and I both work, and their staffs priority was going home asap even though they weren’t closed yet. We were referred to Heston by our adoption clinic and were so happy and relieved that we could finally afford to get all of the necessary AND recommended shots and treatments at once for our dog. The vet and techs take their time to really answer all of our questions and make sure they make our dog feel comfortable. Purchasing recommended medication through Heston is very reasonably priced as well. I don’t have enough good things to say about the staff!

We have a two year old rescue pup that we used to take to another vet facility. We were very unsatisfied with the level of care and compassion they had for our pets after every visit. When our dog broke a tooth, we were desperate to find a new quality vet who cared. We were referred
to Heston and they were willing to schedule an appointment for us rather quickly. The doctor called me (covid precautions) during the appointment to discuss everything and make sure we had the chance to express any and every concern we had for our dog. The conversation was to the point yet thorough, the plan of care was explained well, and most of all, there was genuine compassion and concern for our dog. We have found our new vet! Highly recommend!

Dr. Ludwig and his team are phenomenal and saved our dog's life. We were not regular patients, yet found ourselves in an emergency situation with one of our dogs. The team at Heston got us in, performed an emergency splenectomy, and provided regular post operative updates and thorough care instructions. In addition, the overall prices were very reasonable. We absolutely, positively recommend this group and look forward to switching to Dr. Ludwig as our regular vet.

We have been taking our animals to Heston for just shy of a year now. They have been wonderful at taking care of our animals. They have done routine check ups/physicals, emergency tooth extractions, and a spay and neuter for our herd. Dr. Ludwig has helped us to understand our pets' health and the best options for them. The vet techs and office staff are always super friendly, even when it is crazy busy. We would highly recommend them to others.

They are just wonderful with my back puppy. The doc is very kind and answered all of my questions no problem. They even gave up a price sheet of what it will be or what it could be to get him fixed and chipped.

Super kind and friendly staff. Awesome vet. He thoroughly checked both my large Doberman. He was able to give me precise answers on all my questions. One of my dogs has an issue with her leg and he was finally able to tell me what is going on with her. My past vet told me she just seems fine, and if they thought something was wrong they would've wanted an x-ray immediately. He voiced all options to help her situation and gave an estimate of what they may cost, plus pros and cons of each. Very reasonable prices for services and products. Services offered were not pushed hard like they're trying to make a ton of money off you. Very understanding man. Best vet I've ever been to. Had all 3 kids with me and the staff was quite accommodating. Felt welcome, even in all my hot mess. This is our new vet for sure! You guys are awesome! Best vet I've found in red lion. I believe they are under new ownership, per sign in red lion, so if you haven't been here in a while, give them another try. They will not disappoint
