Food was amazing. The bang bang Brussels were so delicious I wanted to order more. The peanut noodle stir fry was so flavorful. I had the laab and the spring ills as well as the green papaya salad. Highly recommend this place. It is a small family owned restaurant. The waitress was very friendly and helpful in describing the food. It was also very affordable for such fresh food. Everything is only marked if it has gluten, as most Thai food is gluten free. Plenty of delicious options to choose from. Plus you can get Italian gelato by the pint!

This was my third stop here and as usual I was impressed. The staff is super friendly and very helpful explaining things on the menu. They always make recommendations that are delicious. Everything from my drink all the way up until the entree was great. The flavor of the food is perfect. They ha e different levels of how hot you can get it. If you ask for level 10 you better be prepared to break a little sweat, it is good for the soul. Highly recommend this spot for quality Thai food here in York near the center of the city.

Esaan Thai Restaurant is the place we chose on Dec. 10 because we have dined there before and always enjoy the selection of delicious food. They didn’t disappoint! Food was excellent!

Below is my review from 3 years ago. We just returned to the reinvented restaurant so I wanted to leave another review. Ate there for Valentine's Day. Attentive service. Delicious courses. Nothing at all to complain about. Highly recommended and a place that everyone in York and the surrounding areas should try.

The hearty bowl brightens up your spirits during the darkest days of winter with the spices, the authenticity and blend of Thai flavors, absolutely delicious!

Good food. Nice environment. The tea was a little heavy on the condensed milk for my personal taste, but still very enjoyable. The Pad Thai could use a higher meat to noodle ratio, but the flavor was lovely. And their crispy spring rolls were super tasty.
I will definitely be returning.

Wow. Esaan Thai is my absolute go to for FRESH and consistently delish Thai food. My personal favorite is the pineapple curry, but I love many things on the menu. When I say fresh- I mean really really fresh. Like farm to skillet to your mouth fresh. Each time I go I am absolutely floored. I love that they use York local farm ingredients- it really shines through in the dishes. Can't recommend this place enough

Every dish made to order. Vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options available for many dishes. Specials & Thai "tapas" enhance the already interesting regular menu. Friendly staff. Because of the personalized dishes, this is not always the best place if your on a tight time schedule. If you want time to catch up with your lunch/dinner company, this restaurant gives you time to do so. Food is delicious!

I've been here twice now and LOVE their food!!! I am allergic to wheat and eat a gluten free diet and I am also vegan and I always find something on the menu to try that is so good!!! Their fried rice is DELISH and I love the noodles as well!! I love that everything is made fresh in the kitchen so you can customize your meal (ex: leave eggs out of it, fry in a specific oil, customize your level of spiciness etc). The wait staff is always a delight!! Ask them about customizing your meal if you eat a certain diet or have allergies--they are always super friendly and more than willing to accommodate to your needs!! It's in a very great location as well and you can walk to the bars or to some local shops after you eat and make a great evening out!

Never had Thai Food before in my life and I'm hooked! The staff was so friendly and the food was out of this world good. They also catered to vegan, which I am not, but just the thought is freaking amazing! Also they have Gelato (and vegan Gelato!!). One Word DELICIOUS!!! Totally recommend! And I can't wait to go back!

DELICIOUS! Can't beat the Thai food here 😋! Everything is made fresh. I'm a huge fan of the Pad King and hubby loves the Spicy Thai Basil. You must try the Crispy Spring Rolls as an appetizer too. Jai takes care of the Thai food and Sam, her hubby, makes the Gelato which is a GREAT ending to dinner. Think that's an odd combo..think again..YUM! OH and the service is great too. It is also a BYOB. Please support this restaurant during this pandemic. I would be very sad to not have Esaan to go to.

White table cloth, small intimate restaurant atmosphere. Food is amazing. The basil chicken dish is hot and incredibly tasty. So many flavors! I highly recommend. Nice place to sit and eat

The best Thai place in York! My wife and I have been going to Esaan since they opened and every family member or friend we take is hooked instantly! The owner is very friendly and talks to everyone to ensure quality of food and service.

Make sure you try the peanut sauce and the Gelato!!!!

The only downsides:
Limited seating (make reservations on a Friday or Saturday)
A little pricey (BUT you get what you pay for!)

Amazing Thai food! Fresh ingredients...peanut sauce that adds a taste that is unmatched in my Thai dining experiences. That's just one taste treat that makes an Esaan visit memorable. Deciding from a menu that makes you want to explore something new is exciting! I'm never disappointed. Many friendly regulars add to the meal's enjoyment. Italian Gelato for dessert is another taste treat that add's a bold explanation point to this exceptional dining experience. Can you tell my husband and l enjoy Esaan?
