First time in York so my wife and I are doing a small pub crawl. This was our first stop and it was hard to leave. The drinks were great. I had a Christmas Old Fashioned and a Spiced Pear’adise. My wife had a Pineapple Upside Down drink. We ordered a Fig & Pig pizza and the crust was so good. Our server was fantastic; full of personality and very attentive.

Wonderful service, our waiter was so funny and attentive. Atmosphere is great, bright yet cozy.

Our cocktails were delicious, you can never go wrong with their pineapple upside down cake cocktail.

Food was delicious! Apple brushetta was to die for.

We called ahead to ask about brunch drinks and we’re convinced to come by the kind and eager person on the phone (also the $1 mimosas). Once we arrived, Lou was our server and we had the best time because he was such an attentive, helpful, and adorable human. Turns out he was also the one on the phone. He is new and deserves all the hype. We will be back just for him (and the amazing pizza we got). Thanks Lou <3

This was our first time here and it was definitely the perfect little experience. We had no idea we'd end up here but we're glad we did. From the warm, rich, coziness, the nice twist on some brunch classics, our first experience with a French press and our server, Lou B., we totally shoot Fig and Barrel 5 stars. Spending many years in hospitality, I tend to hold servers to a higher standard. Lou B. carried such a friendly vibe, was very knowledgeable and went above and beyond to get us some pretty perfect pictures. 💚

Upscale pub food and atmosphere. Friendly staff, delicious brunch and cocktail offerings. Mimosa flight was good!

Fantastic service and excellent service. We just moved to the area and this was the first local place we tried for dinner. We made it in time for happy hour so we treated ourselves and a friend to drinks and apps! The pizza and burgers were amazing. So excited to have them place walking distance from home. We will be back soon.

Friendly, local feel in this downtown bar/bistro. The food was great and reasonably priced, our server attentive, and the atmosphere was fun but not too noisy. I had a slightly spicy shrimp and grits and my son ordered a gourmet grilled cheese sandwich. There’s a full bar here as well, with special cocktails (plus all the normal things one might order). There’s a big over in the back for hearth-fired pizza (which they are known for).

Excellent whiskey, bourbon and cocktail selection. Pizza was delicious other than all the greens (personal preference). Service was very good also. Parking can be a challenge though. A place worth stopping

We didn't eat, but it looked good. Bartender was excellent. Perfect drinks. $1 Mimosa was a nice surprise. Whiskey list is a beaut. We'll be back to eat.

It was a quiet evening for a Thursday...thinking due to weather. The atmosphere was nice, staff friendly and inviting, cocktail options were very nice and food was delicious! It was clean. There were unique food options and yet still some staples for those less adventurous. I believe that the pricing was appropriate. Two meals, soup and three cocktails was about $60 before tip. We would return.

This restaurant was a great experience. The food was excellent and the grilled cheese I had was wonderful on the sourdough bread. Everything was hot and the drinks were perfection. Our server, Lou, was super! Thanks for a great night!

We absolutely love this place and the service. It was our first time there and they have themselves and incredible kitchen staff that have perfected their dishes. The environment was very pleasant and was a very welcoming and sort of fancy type of restaurant. Our waiter was a tall gentleman with a black hat and we tipped him 25% of the bill for his outstanding service. And man are the perogies to die for. We also had their buffalo wings as an appetizer and they were awesome. I had the tenderloin with roasted potatoes and greens. We will definitely be returning to try more of their scrumptious food. For desert we had the apple crisp with vanilla ice cream on top.

Good food, good atmosphere. The steak was really good but it was over cooked.

I would give this place a 4.5/5. The food and drinks are always good and I love how I can go to a place late night and get a hot pizza. Most places only have like fried stuff on their late night menu. The restaurant is very nice as well. I would only take a half star off because my wife and i felt neglected at some points by our server.

5 stars you say?

Honestly I really like this place, so I just don’t want to drive down it’s reviews. York needs more places like Fig & Barrel. But….

Please please please fix your kitchen logistics.

I went last night for restaurant week and waited over 2 hours for my food. I’m really unsure how, since there aren’t many tables in the restaurant. I can’t imagine them being understaffed on one of their biggest days either.

Regardless, I can get over that because the bartenders were so nice and great to talk with. The cocktails were beyond this world, and the food (once finally delivered), was absolutely amazing.

Really hope management sees this review and acts on it. You can already see a slew of bad reviews from last night with the same long waiting experience.

First time going here and all I can say is excellent. The food was a great dining experience along with drinks to pair with the meal. We will definitely be returning soon for another great time.

Went there for Valentine’s Day. The brick oven pizza was so good and they even really let us customize our orders. They put avocados on this one for us! They also had a great drink selection and the atmosphere was very welcoming. Definitely enjoyed and will go back!

Fantastic brunch spot. Will definitely be coming here again. Sauce for tots was so flavorful. And what a flavor combination with the duck grilled cheese. Our server was lovely and polite. Place was spotless. Very impressed, Compliments to the chef

*I personally have been wanting to have dinner here, but I had to comment regarding my roommates who had dinner with a 4:30 reservation on this past Valentines day (2024). They were seated at the 2-Top in front of the fireplace. THEY COULDN'T STOP PRAISING THEIR EVENING and let me include this as well.... I was surprised (especially with so much hate, hypocrisy and delusion coming from certain segments of America as of late, It was refreshing that they chose to seat my two male friends in the romantic 2-top table in front of the fireplace, even taking a photo of them. But that's not my reason for commenting. My friend who paid is somewhat younger than myself and when they returned from dining that evening, knowing I am considered a "Foodie", well traveled and had my own restaurant at 21, they were ecstatic with their experience, from the duck to dessert, which was just a fraction they told of their evening, finally including the total, which was $104, "plus $15 for tip".....! I hated to flip the mood, but when I told them that wasn't enough they made it worse for some reason to tell me apps were half price! SO THIS IS WHAT I TOLD THEM!.... First, severs make a fraction of minimum wage, not to mention at the end of the night they usually have to "Tip-Out" the bartender(s), bussers, Maitre'D, etc... Second, they have an actual percentage taken out of that minute minimum wage ($3+ for servers usually) so if you stiff the server, they actually PAY for you to sit and fill your a**. Also, if your bill includes discounted items such as their half price appetizers or perhaps a BoGo coupon, or even worse case scenerio an entree or item was taken off by staff, none of these should be reason to discount the gratuity, since the server still brought the same items, regardless what the "House" charged you or didn't charge you, If you checked into a hotel and used your AAA discount, should the hotel dock the persons check for the fifteen or twenty minutes they worked checking you in as well? So why should you dock the servers gratuity. Next, instead of using your fingers or pulling your phone out and using a stupid app that calculates 18% gratuity, JUST LEAVE 20%! It's simple, take a zero off the end of the total or ten percent and double it. If you have a great meal, tell a manager or owner, if you have a bad meal, tell a manager or owner, they can't fix it if they aren't aware, and if you can't afford the proper gratuity, stay home and eat. Look at it this way, I have flown into Los Angeles or Burbank in private jets where my agent paid upwards of $30K for the charter one way and if at LAX, whilst in line in the tarmac with the likes of Jet Blue and other discount carriers that I have also taken costing me a mere $200, meaning if someone is in coach paying a couple hundred or on a Gulfstream costing someone's yearly mortgage utilize the same air traffic controller, the same pilots, the same ground crew... None of them see a deduction on their salaries based on the cost of each ticket, why should you play Ebenezer, so please give at least 20% based on what your total would be PRE-DISCOUNT and never punish a server for the fault of the "House". If the server is in fact simply horrible, and in fact DOES serve you something that is CLEARLY off putting, ignores you, is rude, etc then very well, but please inform the management or owner AS WELL. Don't play Armchair Judge & Jury and I think it's disgusting to trash a business on social media for a bad experience, yet never voiced your complaints in person. How would you feel if you were hired for your dream job but they did a social media background check & read an entry where an ex and all of his/her friends did the same, but was not true or perhaps out of context and didn't get the job, yet spent $20K relocating & $50k down-payment on a new mortgage, their entry could bankrupt you, just as a review can close a business or stiffing a server may be the difference of $30 causing overdrafts or worse. I told my friend to stop by soon and drop a little more off. Apologies on his behalf.
