Meckauer Park

I absolutely Love bringing my daughter to Meckauer Park. She asks to go every day after school. I love how they keep the girls room clean and not a wreqck like most playgrounds, and how they have a tarp to put over the sand box when it's not being used (which I think was a great idea with the pond right there, no goose poo in the sand box). They have a reading box where you can take the book home and bring it back or leave other books there. My 5 yr old checks the box every time we go. There is a basketball court, a fenced area for dogs

Took my kid the Meckauer Park on is day off from school and he enjoyed the play ground the sand box the walk around the pond. Nice park to bring the family and enjoy nature. They have a big kid and little kid playground, which is nice, so there is something for all kids.

What a beautiful park. It’s just the right size in that it’s manageable yet has a little of everything.

Nice atmosphere. I enjoyed taking a stroll around the park. My kids were on the jungle gym and playing basketball. It was fun. The dogs were well behaved 👌🏾👌🏾

Very clean once a while peoples around with their pets unlich own risk . Playground, basketball field and long walks around. Public restroom all depends activity. There a pond to look at the turtle 🐢 getting some sunshine energy 🌅.

This is a wonderful place to take a walk around the paved walking trail or take your dog(s) to the dog park. There are actually two dog parks - one for small dogs and one for large dogs. The small dog park is located next to the large dog park so it's a great place to allow you dog to socialize with larger dogs with the safety of a fenced barrier.

There are many different crowds that frequent this park with their pets, kids, or walking buddies. It is very welcoming.

Now that it's winter, please be careful of the ice.

Great people and dogs at the dog park. Hope they are able to fix the grass this spring.

Meckauer park is one of my favorite parks in the neighborhood. It has two playgrounds (prek and k and up), A SANDBOX (rare thing in Connecticut for some reason, also, it's a ln eagle scout project whoa),
Picnic area and a spot for BBQ, basketball hoop,
low impact walking/biking trail (bring your kids here to practice!),
a nice pond with some cool wildlife (like herons and bullfrogs, ducks, geese, turtles and some hard to identify water rodens),
plenty of trees to provide shade,
several exercise spots for adults and youth,
a good size bark park for your doggos,
a spacious gazebo,
Big bathrooms (closed off season *sigh*)
Also, there is a book crossing spot aka little free library, make sure you check it out.

Parking has enough space to accommodate a lot of cars, which is also a plus.

best place ever cute park and small trail around it my mom said she dumped my dead hermit crabs there when i was small i think she lied but i love the idea im really big about that and honor with death of things im just special you know but well last week i went here and there was my favorite book "unwind" in th freebook box i did tak it im sorry kids its not my favorite anymore it was in middle school and imreading it i goddam love reading this is such a place of memory i pukes on my cousin here once.respect the dead no matter the species

I love this park. People are kind and friendly. My daughter loves the wilder areas and it is easy to find a quiet spot.

Great little park. Nice decent length walking trail around a scenic pond. Has exercise stations along the path for those interested. Also has a medium to large playground, basketball court, fenced in dog play area, covered picnic area and plenty of parking. Nice spot to relax and enjoy lunch as a break from work and squeeze in a walk.

Great dog park. Has very good fenced in place for small dogs. Separated area for large dogs. Great playground for children. Basketball court and a great walking trail paved for walkers. Really great for whole family.

Not just a dog park but also a place to bring kids, there are play structures, ample parking. They have a workout trail where you can do various exercises while you walk the loop. On one side of the park are tips for parents to engage children and encourage their speech and imagination. Nice place to take a leisurely walk if you have some time. Extra star for the signs that encourage child development! :)

Wonderful local park with many activities. There is a walking loop (a little over half a mile), a dog park, a playground, and several other features for an enjoyable day out. The park gets very busy, especially on good weather days.

Beautiful park to walk, workout & small playground for little ones. They have benches to picnic , beautiful pond area too. And ofcourse dogs are allowed & they have dog park area too.

Awesome park! Always clean. The grounds are kept up,no dog poo on the walkways. There is a public restroom too! Excellent place to bring the pets and kids. Visitors equally as nice. I was just there yesterday. I will be coming back for as long the summer weather holds up!

Like this park. We are coming here for many years. Place for everyone and everything.
