Great food menu. We love this place because David is making sure everything is running smooth and he wants to make sure everyone is happy. Food is always delicious. By the way they have an outside garden dinning area which you can enjoy your dinner.Me personally with this covid-19 I eat out side till it gets cold. Beautiful restaurant and awesome service.

Dined here New Years Eve. The service was excellent. Our waiter was outstanding. Our party had the red snapper, duck confit, chicken Parisian, and lobster ravioli. My dish was the duck and it was great. I also tried the others and they were all good. Looking forward to visiting again.

I am not a sophisticated foodie type so describing the flavor palette is not my forte. With that caveat out of the way, you should know the meal tasted incredible and the portion sizes were fair. I topped my meal off with and incredible piece of mango blueberry cheesecake. Yum! Diane took very good care of us. Thank you!

Very nice restaurant with very good food. The service was very good and the waitresses were very knowledgeable with the items on the menu. It's BYOB so don't forget your wine !!

The Blue Heron is a shining star in the local food community. This quaint gem is easily missed if you're not looking for it, so make sure to be intentional about getting here.

My wife and I were visiting my parents in town (we're from the Memphis area) and stopped in for a date night.

Worth it.

The service was excellent, very attentive but unobtrusive.

My wife is somewhat of a French food enthusiast, having lived in Lille for 6 months) and commented that the Blue Heron had the best French food she's had in the US (and she's eaten around)

We had a brie appetizer with green apples which I'm feeling hungry thinking about right now.

For entrees I had the mussels and my wife had a surf and turf (fillet and shrimp).

Both were perfectly prepared and generous in portion size (we couldn't finish sadly.)

On top of all of this, Blue Heron is very reasonably priced for the quality and I'd suggest anyone in the area check it out.

We like it enough we're sending my parents there for their anniversary.

Excellent lunch today at Blue Heron. The escargot in garlic butter were prepared to perfection. Brie was also excellently prepared. Entrees were just as delicious.

The food was delicious and the service was amazing. I did not expect the level of service that we received. A great selection of food and drink choices. We will be going back.

This was the first time I've eaten at restaurant. I was impressed. The food was fantastic. The wait staff was vary attentive and friendly. The restaurant and the ladies room was very clean. I will definitely eat here again. This place doesn't look like much on the outside but the inside is nice. The food, wait staff and service make all the difference.

My wife and I chose this place for our 1 year wedding anniversary. Wow wf could not have chosen a better restaurant for dinner. We showed up for our 730 dinner reservation and we're running a few min behind. They did not mind at all, they had an outside seat ready for us with candles and two wine glasses which was wonderful. The menu choices and food in general was amazing every course was the perfect amount and the flavor was outstanding. Our waitress Anette was one of the best most attentive I have ever experienced. We had our food when we expected it our drinks stayed full and she was extremely caring making sure all of our needs were met above and beyond. If you are thinking about trying this place you will not be disappointed. Thank you Blue Heron and especially Anette for making our night so special we will be back again for sure!!!!

Service is fantastic! David is a wonderful server and made sure everything was just right! Food is amazing! We had the steamed mussels and they were delicious! The flavor of the sauce was perfect! The fresh bread was warm and delicious! The beef bourguignon was so good! The beef was very tender and the flavor was amazing! The lamb burger was delicious as well! There are fresh flowers on the table and the atmosphere is very nice! We enjoyed our date night and will definitely be coming back again!!!!

I had lunch today at the Blue Heron with my best friend. I had the escargot and the chicken salad on croissant, it comes with a small side salad. My friend had sirloin tips and homemade fries. I'm not a beef eater, but she said it was perfect. The escargot was served in a garlic butter sauce with mushrooms and it was delicious, as was the chicken salad, which I believe had a hint of fresh tarragon. The service was very good. Our server was friendly and attentive without hovering. I'm looking forward to going back soon for dinner. Masks are required until you are seated and they have indoor and outdoor seating. Reservation was flawless, no waiting at all.
Only issue we had was that the place is quite small for a full-house, and thus it was hard to make conversation with my date.

Our waitress was attentive and friendly. Our food was cooked perfectly, the Red Snapper and Crab Royal were superb, the ratio of filler to crab was spot on, most places get it wrong and the crab royal ends up being too heavy on the filler. My dates salmon was also cooked perfectly. The Raspberry Heart dessert was also phenomenal. Best of all, everything was reasonably priced. Looking forward to dining here again.

We had a lovely dinner. Broad and interesting menu, quiet and intimate dining room, courteous and professional staff. Fine glassware, linens, soft music. Best of all, excellent food served in generous portions. My scallops were perfectly prepared and beautifully presented. The salmon and beoff burgeogoine were equally superb. Both the chef and our waitperson accommodated a long list of dietary restrictions with grace. Blue Heron gave our family a perfect memory.

Had a group of 6 of us, and we all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The food is fantastic - and we had a wide variety of their dishes. Everything was very good, well prepared & flavorful. The staff is very attentive, and excellent at interacting with customers. They have a wonderful sense of humor, and were very friendly. It's not a restaurant that we frequent, but it's a great place to have here in York, and we'll be back again for those special occasions where we want to splurge a little. If you are looking for fine dining, this is a wonderful option.

Today was "No Cook Friday" so we looked around for some place we have never tried. We made an early reservation and had the place almost to ourselves.

If Escargot are on a menue I order them and they did not disappoint. Enough for a light meal they wer seasoned well but not overwhelmed by garlic butter. Very tasty. The Tuna Steak (8oz slab of sashimi grade tuna) on a pesto base was amazing. My wife got the Mixed Grill with steak, Gulf Shrimp, Chicken with roasted veggies and thin sliced scalloped potatoes. Great flavor, not overwhelming, really fresh.

In all we will definitely go back, but next time we will bring a bottle of wine. It is BYOB.

We just celebrated my girlfriend’s birthday at Blue Heron and it was wonderful! My cream of crab soup was hot and delicious and the steak frites were spot on. The staff is friendly and the service is fast. I recommend Blue Heron to anyone looking for fine dining in the York, Harrisburg. Lancaster area.

We happened upon this delightful gem of a restaurant in March 2 years ago a week before COVID-19 shut everything down. The following June, when things seemed better, it was the first place we went out to eat after 3 months of isolation. My Mom used to make “beef stew”. It was my favorite thing she made during my childhood in Hagerstown, MD. I ordered the beef bourguignon. I was taken aback and astonished. I wanted to run back in to the kitchen to see my Mom who must have made my delicious meal. I knew she had passed 20 years before, but I felt my Mom must have made the dish. It was exactly as I remember her making it. I was moved to tears. We have now gone back to this wonderful place, driving nearly 75 miles from Hagerstown on at least 5 occasions. Tonight was no different. Friendly and welcoming staff, quiet ambience, and delicious food. I always get the beef bourguignon. Always. It’s like being with my Mom for a while. My wife always get something different. Tonight it was the scallops. She shared two with me. They were lovely. We both love this restaurant and will continue to return.

Good dining experience. The food was delicious and very healthy. Also the presentation was pleasing. The staff was very attentive and caring. Our group of friends really enjoyed a flavorful meal here. We will return again.
