Beautiful, but it was very cold in January. It was the sight of the 2024 Polar Bear Plunge to raise money for The Central PA Special Olympics. Even though the lake was frozen, they chopped a hole in it for the people to plunge in when it was 15⁰ F with 20 MPH Winds. Brave Soles, but a nice park to do it in

Always a great place to run, hike, or get some fresh air! This is my "home trail" for trail running but every trip brings a new adventure!

Excellent spot for a nice easy day hike. 8 miles around the lake make it a great spot to see beautiful water while taking a leisurely walk. There are restrooms, a playground, and a huge parking lot. Convenient spot for sure

This part of Pinchot had the most none hunting zone of the park which was nice considering I forgot to bring an orange vest.

Came here when I was young. It's still pretty here. Grills to cook on, a nice playground, a ranger station or whatever that looked closed near sunset. Where's the recycling bins??

Nice clean area for a nice and relaxing day. Kids enjoyed themselves. We found a grill area pretty easy. Nice and close Handicap parking area for my aunt, who has heart issues. And a variety of different types of people in which I find it within itself very awesome.

So there is the camping area and then this day use area. Separate entrances. I think some walking trails connect each area.

The day use area is free to use, lots of parking and room for activities of all sorts.

Dogs are welcome. Kayak, paaddle boats, canoe rentals. Playground. Picnic tables. Grills (special garbage bins for hot coals!) Walking trails. Disc golf. Biking on trails is allowed. Public bathrooms.

There is a lot of room here, no over crowding at all.

Lakeside Trail is accessible from the East and West side of the Conewago Day Use Area. The West side trail is the easiest to walk. The East side goes to Bolder Point or to Alpine Trail. There is a fork where they intersect. Going left takes you to Bolder Point and is a little more difficult of a hike. Going right takes you through the woods to the intersection of Alpine Trail. Happy Hiking!

This place is a great place for the entire family, you don't need a barbeque pit you'll need to take some charcoal ice, etc for your picnic and or to go fishing and buy a canoe
