York County at Pleasant Valley Road

I had a wonderful experience here, and this MUST reflect well on the Sheriff. I was there applying for my PA permit. I was met at the door by a no-nonsense, yet cheerful and totally professional deputy who asked me my business, and then directed me to the metal detector. Asking about items in my pocket, I handed over my keys, change, and tentatively, my pocket knife. The deputy took all, put it in a basket, and cheerfully said, "I'll hand this to you on the other side." She then pointed me to the gentleman behind an island counter by the front windows. This gentleman too, was the height of no-nonsense, cheerfulness, and professionalism. He guided me through the process, most helpfully pointed out a policy that treats me better than my native Virginia. One standout at a location is an accident. Two standouts is a trend, and reflects a well-run, well-motivated government service, of the people, and for the people. BRAVO ! Highly recommend !!!

Got my out of state concealed permit here very inexpensively. promptly, and with a smile considering I already had my home states concealed permit. Highly recommend, will do again when I need to renew it

So easy to do. Plenty of parking that you don't have to feed a meter. The people were very friendly.

Not a lot to review. It is a York County government building. It is secured with metal detectors, x-ray scanners and armed officers. You will be directed to area of your appointment and not to walk/wander about.
